I'm just surprised that no other company thought of asking their BG do you want to create some work to be released while you're serving in the military? At least have offer the option I'm sure some would have jumped at the idea.
Kpop fans actually wish their faves love them like BTS loves ARMY. One of the reasons why I can't stan other group is because I don't feel the same level of strong bond between groups and their fandom. Adding to my feeling that **cough, cough** there are groups who are awkward or trying hard to connect in front of the camera like someone had told them what to say or do. You feel it's not natural.
They keep proving over and over that They◇paved◇the◇way. Even in this military obligation and how they did it together, they have paved the way for other idols to do it that way. BTS always sets the trends and others follow.
It’s true that they never peaked because of COVID and their military enlistment. While 4th generation k-pop idols are rushing to beat BTS’s records, it no longer matters to BTS and ARMY because BTS already achieved those records and transcended k-pop. Chapter 2 will bring a new kind of creativity and new types of music. They will reinvent themselves and ARMY is ready for it!

Ah, you remind me of someone last year who was trying to throw their shade subtly, asking ARMYs, 'But how will you feel when a new group comes along and breaks all their records?'
So I pointed out that while there may one day be more streams, more views, and more sales, the vast number of 'Firsts' can't be broken or duplicated. The best a new group can hope for in that sense is, 'the first since BTS', or 'joins BTS in-' whatever it is. And that, of course, is why they 'paved the way'.
Their response? Crickets. 😏
You are so right! Today when Jin came out on stage I started crying, it was so emotional and I am glad that he could feel all the love and support of ARMY. On 12/6/24, the local national newspaper in my country covered Jin' news too. Even the radio station also played Jin and BTS songs. I was so impressed and listened to the songs while driving 😅😅😅

The hysteria when people would see them after waiting all night at airports to see them. The girls that dressed up like hotel staff to get into their rooms. The lunch boxes, bubble gum and trading cards we collected. The school binders, collectible dolls and games we bought. The movies and the Saturday Morning cartoons we watch faithfully. Young men who dressed like them, grew their hair out and started musical bands because of them. Some of the most influential musical bands cite them as the reason they got into music. The songs that they wrote in the 50’s 60’s and 70’s that are still being sung and recorded today. Imagine, Yesterday and Here Comes The Sun are three of the most re recorded songs by other artist of all time. They had 21 songs hit the top of the Billboard Charts in their 10 years active. BTS hasn’t quite done that yet. The way we mourned we John Lennon was assassinated and when George Harrison died from Cancer. The fact that today Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are considered treasures. Just because you may not have been alive and experienced it does not mean it was not comparable. Do any of the things people did for The Beatles sound familiar to you? I am very pleased to be able to see a musical and cultural phenomenon again in my life. BTS is amazing and I’m sure someday when you are older you will look back and cherish all the things and memories you have about them just as people of my age and older cherish The Beatles. I give all the props to BTS. They are amazing and their music will transend generations. JungKook may very well be an artist on par with Prince who could do anything. I hope I am still alive to see more of it.

Their music, the records they set and the cultural and musical phenomena they are and were. I respect and love BTS. I am privileged to see another musical and cultural phenomena again in my life.

The keyword is evolve. When Namjoon released his latest album RPWP, he gave a subtle hint of the changing panorama of BTS and each individual member's next move. His latest album generated quite a buzz in the music world. Is that Kpop idol? His music is quite different and astonishing for some. Then he was seen playing the sax in Jin's military release. Again the buzz from Armys. And Jin's normal appearance to assure us that all is back to normal. Maybe or maybe not. BTS is evolving. They are moving forward. You cannot catch them. They are always in the move and always shocks the world when they reveal what is cooking. It is like a game that no one can beat them. And that's what makes BTS exciting, forever young and puts you on the edge of your seat. You need to buckle up though, in case you fall off the chair like Jimin. BTS is on to a new era that would make history again in the.music world. Never have I seen such a group at my age of 77. Never. They are indeed a phenomenon ! Out of the ordinary. BTS is an ongoing show without a script! They are the script.
true it really created a buzz in the music world so it was not as much as in the public who mainly listen to trendy pop songs but the people who really love music was really impressed. y favorite i Nuts i love the beat and flow of it. it´s so raw. also like groin. for Rm it´s rarely the title track i love the most except for wildflower that was the best from indigo because of the lyrics and overall production. from mono i love forever rain it´s so unque and i keep going back to that song. it really makes me see into his world. how lonely it is being famous

There will never be another group like BTS, they changed, adapted and did things that were right for them and did it with character and integrity without throwing hate or shade on anyone else. Their music and the entire discography speaks for itself. While there will be some that are doing well for themselves and that is a good thing as BTS brought the KPop genre front and center to the world to show what they can do, in the end BTS is in a league of their own now. You said it right....BTS makes the call and the company is only there to make it happen in the safest possible way. People need to fully comprehend this truth, together with other truths about them. They are different, good different. Yes, ARMY need to loosen up on our expectations of them. They are their own artists and no one can change that.

In march 2024 it was stated that BTS ARMY is the biggest music fandom in the world. Of course we as ARMY support BTS all over the world. I am an international ARMY and have been watching BTS movement since yesterday 5am KST till my midnight (SA time) en the entire day at the festa. I am part of millions who have not moved from our seats.

BTS have always evolved, and chapter 2 is just a part of that process. I can’t wait for an awesome world tour I would imagine in 2026. I hope they don’t rush their return, they deserve time to process and rest. They won’t be inactive but I hope they take their time and produce the tour they want. I hope that they do security sweeps on a regular basis on the 15th floor.
Previously, I was questioning what will BTS serve when they come back after their military, as seem they have already arrieved at the peak, even they said The Best Yet To Come.
But noticing all members solo album to date, they arent boasting. Yes! Their best yet to come.
The most surprising me is RM and Jimin, they are revealing the talents that havent shown before. Defenitely for next 5 years, BTS will be still leading Kpop.

I liked your take on how do we measure success for BTS in the future. I do get worn down by comments demanding to know why people aren't streaming 24/7 and/or for certain members. Music should be enjoyed, not just streamed because we have to show so-and-so's fandom that we're still on top. I lloved that RPWP grew on me and made me think. I love that The Astronaut reduced me to tears so I had to ration my listening so my husband didn't wonder what was wrong with me! You are right, they are artists, and they should produce the music they want, not what they think will garner millions of hits but not satisfy them creatively.
Exactly, music should be enjoyed, felt, listened to, absorbed, experienced. And I refuse to believe that people who stream from morning till night on 7 different devices just to get the 'highest numbers' are really enjoying the music. It's all about the charts for them. I don't know if I can enjoy my music that way. To each his own tho.
@@catherinewandera8790I can't speak for others, but when I'm streaming, even on multiple devices, I am definitely, actively listening to at least one of them, because I love BTS music and it is the soundtrack of my life right now. So let's say tv, tablet, telephone, and Google speaker are all playing. The one I am actively listening to the most is the one that suits my mood at that moment. I can either switch playlists or turn one device down and the other up if I have specialized playlists going. 😂🤷🏾♀️

They really are beyond idol status now, which can be seen as more of a threat. Funny thing is BTS themselves would encourage other groups and their own journeys . I am so excited to see what their chapter 2 will look like, not just as artists but fulfillment in their personal lives as well.

Yes, and I am happy to see another musical phenomena in my life time but props and homage must be paid to those who came first. They broke ground and paved the way for what happens today in the music industry of any genre. Where would any dancer be without Michael, Fred Astaire , Mikhail Baryshnikov and others to pave the way or any group be without The Beatles or Elvis and Prince. I am so enjoying watching this generations idols. They are making wonderful memories for their fans just as the afore mentioned did for us♥️

Jin explained that it was Jin's request to have a hug event with 3k ARMY and, after series of negotiation in 6 months, Jin was able to obtain his request but the numbers is trimmed down to 1k fans.
yes and tbh I think that was much easier and safer to achieve. I can just imagine all the possible danger moments had it been as big and as long as the lovely Jin first envisaged it. He had a great and lovely idea it was tweeked so it was able to happen safely.

I watched a lot of live footage at the BTS Fiesta. The people I saw was a diverse group and a wide-range of ages. I was really surprised as the age groups I saw. ARMY is aging with the BTS members so the fan base is very strong. I agree that BTS is here for the long term. This 75 year old, Black grandmother, USA, is enjoying what I am witnessing. I plan to travel to South Korea in September 2025. I will be happy to just see BTS banners in South Korea.

It should come as no surprise that all the members chose to celebrate Jin's return with Armies. Whenever they have anything to celebrate (birthdays or awards) they like to share it with Army.
Also, regarding the BU, I just discovered a new channel (Into The Bangtan Universe Wormhole) which is breaking down what has happened so far using all resources available (notes, videos, games, etc.). I confess that I've never really followed the BU closely. I get the gist of what happened, but there were parts that I didn't catch at all. I usually just rely on Bookish Theories and XCeleste to tell me what was going on. It'll be interesting to see what you've come up with. 💜
I agree, Into The Bangtan Universe Wormhole is an incredible source for understanding the BU. They present all the information in a clear and concise way making it easier to understand. I try to spread the word about their channel whenever I can!
I'm a strong believer that everything happens for a reason. I think them peaking in chapter 2 will have a better impact because in chapter 1 all of kpop was riding the coattails of their success so them peaking would be looked at as all of kpop peaking together. Them taking this break put the spotlight on the other groups and they did not live up to the hype. There were no significant achievements. Now, when they come back, not only will the fill that void but their impact will be obvious to everyone. I believe that's why the groups that were claiming success under their achievements (not naming any names) is on hiatus and will have their comeback in 2025 too.

From the beginning of the "Hiatus," I thought this was going to be an important step in the BTS evolution.
Each member having new and separate experiences will add a different note in their overall harmony...a different shade in their palette, and when they get back together, they will paint - not a whole NEW Universe, bc the basis for everything BTS will be underlying - a heretofore unimaginable Universe? OMNIverse? Whatever it is, ARMY will have a place. Bc, since BTS is, at their core, about Love, their Love for ARMY will show the World what a Real, Symbiotic, and Heart-to-Heart relationship is about.

I have never stanned any kpop group before, in fact, I knew nothing about kpop and was never interested...until BTS 💜When I fell down the "Rabbit Hole", I fell hard...🤗 They are first and foremost, wonderful humans, they're grounded, respectful and so so talented...I love them sooooo much 🤧 The best part is I really feel that they love us back...They always put armies first in everything they do ... The bond between BTS and Armies is something beyond words, and it's just beautiful 💜Apobangpo!!!

I went with her to Wembley on the second day ( so iconic now) just so she had someone with her!! And I then understood her love for them!! I really did!!

I think chapter 2 ended with everyone entering the military. We need to make 2025/2026 chapter 3, a fresh new era for BTS and really setting that example of evolution for other groups to follow.
I am so glad you mentioned ARMY expectations. We don't want them to work themselves to exhaustion and illness while juggling BTS music, personal music, other projects and relationships. As Joon/Yoongi both said in the 2022 dinner and in the Minimoni interview, it is harder to manage multiple projects and squeezing out ideas for songs. It becomes stressful and a chore and they CAN'T do that anymore.
For me seeing them REALLY happy, relaxed and enjoying what they do while we reap the benefits is golden. Them pushing out too many tracks and events quickly and them being unhappy, I don't want a part of that. When they talk about their tough times but then you look back and see them smiling on TV shows and in Run BTS etc, it hurts my heart knowing they were covering up their heartache.
I hope when they reunite for chapter 3 they be a little more selfish and put themselves first. Because if they are happy then I am happy.💜
No chapter 3 not here yet. We still at chapter 2. They are moving from boys,Restrictions,no-nos they are still introducing Army to the other side of them.
Don't rush the chapters. Remember chapter 1 was about 10 years.
@@cuteme456 I agree- I look on their solo eras and the enlistment as a kind of Intermission. Everything before it was Chapter One, and everything after they reunite will be Chapter Two, but this very different time is a solo-mindset intermission between group mindsets. And I'm really looking forward to all the unit songs Jimin and RM talked about in the music exchange.

It's difficult to explain the hold that these wonderful guys have on me but those that adore them as I do will understand the feeling. Author, I totally agree that they haven't reached their peek and I long for 2025 when they all return with the military in their rear view mirror. Watching Jin walk through the gates of that base and greet his brothers was so overwhelming and I couldn't refrain from tearing up. I need to make it know that how I feel about BTS is not a diss against any other artist, there are many great ones around, it's just that the aura that comes from these guys is of Love, Respect, Humbleness, Honor and so many more beautiful and positive adjectives to name. I will continue to support them, not just today but tomorrow and forever. I believe BTS has such a fantastic fandom, yes we can get crazy at times but it's just that we are so passionate about these angels and want to protect them at all cost! It has been an incredible response and out poring of emotion and global love. I have only witnessed it 2 other times in my life Elvis when he went to the Army and The Beatles with Beatlemania. Those musical history events were global. In modern times BTS is the 3rd. Of course we didn’t have the media like we do now but I can tell you it was always on our news. In our papers and magazines. I’m really glad I got to witness this.❤

I wish other fandoms realized that this was good for their favs too. It makes it a model for longevity when a boy band are no longer boys. Before most of the groups would disband or fade, but BTS showed it’s possible to keep going as long as you can evolve. They do that so well.
Great video, thank you. This whole narrative that their not in control of their own careers and that their company is evil needs to stop. We army trust the members and what they tell us, they asked us to trust them. They trust their team that they've worked with for several years some since the beginning. We know the members are kind good-hearted people and prefer to surround themselves with other kind positive people. This manti/solo/anti rhetoric needs to end, it feeds right into MHJ's hands and people like her's plans to destroy the public opinion of the company with her goal being taking BTS down.
When I joined in 2018 I never saw army hating on Big Hit or Bang Pd, we didn't always agree with everything they did but we still respected them because the boys respected them and they still do. Antis back then also mostly targeted hate towards BTS specifically they rarely ever mentioned the company or Bang Pd. But when Hybe was formed in 2021 kpoppies and antis were afraid of how big they had gotten, and jealous too. So I started seeing more directed toward Hybe by antis (they still barely ever mentioned Big Hit or even Bang pd at that point) but mostly still aimed at BTS. But I started to see a shift when Festa 2022 happened, it became more common to hate on Hybe and by 2023 it's become a thing to hate on Hybe and Bang Pd, to the point where they were more of a focus for the hate then BTS was during that time. Oh don't get me wrong antis still hated on the members but they with the help of solos/mantis have brought it to a whole other level toward the company. Now I'm seeing new naive army or multis get swept up in the hate. And then the boycotters joined in at a rather convenient time for MHJ I might add, people got swept up in that by their emotions and manipulated. As an American myself I can tell you that there are people that directly effect the war that should be far more hated on and given attention to then a Korean company doing kpop, real activism is going after your representatives and making a stand against politicians that directly effect the war. Hybe=BTS I don't think people realize that the Big 3 want the downfall of BTS and that means the downfall of BTS' company whatever name it may have (some just seem to have instant hate at the mention of the name Hybe) it's their company they built it and Big Hit too. If anyone deserves to leave the company it's literally anyone else other then BTS, they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I don't think people get that it's literally about BTS and what company they are with cuz it's them specifically as an IP that effects the market, if they signed with another company I guarantee you they would be the next most hated thing in kpop becuz the Big 3 can not stand BTS being at the top and army comes as a package deal, we go with BTS.

During covid, they released Dynamite that became a superhit which in turns helps them gain more fans globally. Dynamite may not be released if not for covid.

I agree. With groups like Coldplay in their corner who have shown longevity, and their real freedom from all obligations to their government, I think they will go as big internationally as they want to go.
BTS has evolved past their kpop status...I believe that happened when the very first solo effort by a member released their solo project. Proving they are indeed a force of nature. Are we in agreement that AgusD's "Snooze" with Rose Band Woosung's chorus is amazing? I digress.
As we Army saw our WWH Jin run to get in line, as each one until two and two entered military life~ the sky was grey and cold that day...but, for me, I remembered what they said. Trust us. Well, I did and I do. Now here is delightful WWH Jin, causing me to cry as I watched him walk from the Base, ending his military service to receive flowers/gift from Ceo of BigHit, while walking into the arms of 5 BTS members.
What a relief to see all 7 together at HYBE.

Yes, they are different now, full grown men, not boys. And they are globally loved by people in many countries...but such is the result of being singers, musicians, and artists that persevered, that gave it all and more. Thank you for sharing your views re BTS and of ARMY. I think your read is right on and you are ahead of the curve. BTS members intend to make music for as long as they can; they all love music period. In order to survive long term, they cannot continue "k-pop" as it is today but must find ways to integrate it with the larger music industry. RM leads the way; he loves and understands music as an industry as well as an art; Yoongi does too. The two of them will lead and the others will develop alongside with them as BTS truly becomes global music.

For me I started getting this creeping dread regarding more and more paywalls. They have always made themselves freely accessible by Army. That is part of what built this empire. But as soon as I saw the public reunion, the Live and the OT7 photo I breathed a sigh of relief.
Jin coming home is huge for the boys but to Army it was basically a holiday with all of Army rejoicing. All of us, around the world, glued to our screens watching and waiting together is powerful. I was afraid that Army would be sidelined. But no, BTS did what they always do, they let Army in like an 8th member. They gave us what we needed to be confident that our position has not changed, not relegated behind a paywall ❤
The second I saw Suga, I had this huge sigh of relief. After knowing he was having a hard time in the service, I've been watching and waiting. Worrying. Because I know this to be true. The rest of the boys could adapt to a very regimented lifestyle, being told what to do 24/7. Suga? No way. Could you see anyone getting in his face telling him what to do? Hell no, lol. This would have, no doubt, been a massive shift for him. I was worried because we hadn't heard more news or that we couldn't see his face.
So yay! I am new Army. I started following BTS right after Jin left. So this has been a whole Saga for me to experience. I have never seen the whole group. I'm so excited for June next year. If I could afford it, I would do the same, fly to Korea just to be there for the reuinion. Because, no doubt, it will be a country wide festival atmosphere with all the boy's hometowns celebrating. ❤❤

I do not understand why wevers/Hybe do not auto include english subs as so many more fans speak english as opposed to Korean. In fact there is a patron site or 5 that translate almost real time. I wonder if Hybe understands how much traffic they loose due to lack of translations?
