Hey, great vid. I have the vyper novo and when I dive, on the right of the screen next to the ascent rate, I have noticed a horizontal line. What does this mean as I can't find a reference in the manual? Cheers

Nice tutorial. Thanks for your help. Just one quick question:
if you set it for Air Diving mode does the computer automatically understand that you are using 21% O2 and 79% Nitrox? as the normal air mixture?
Or should I set it on Nitrox Diving mode and then put 21% Nitrox?
I'm a new Open Water Diviner and want to buy a Suunto but want to make sure that is easy to understand and to use.
    Thanks for your response :)

Hi Rodrigo, yes if you dive air it knows it's regular 21% air. I have another video about how to use the Nitrox mode on this watch, mostly as a reminder to myself because I know I'd forget :) . But no need to play with those settings until you're diving something richer than 21%. It's a good watch, I'd still recommend it.

@@SeanWalberg Thanks Sean for your help. I have purchased one as it seems to be an awesome computer for its price.
And to turn the computer off (like when your aren't using it) does it have any way of doing it or does it stay on until the battery dies?
      Thanks.

Where exactly did you get the cable from in Germany? Do you have a link to the item on sale?

      It's at en.smartinterface.de/artikel.php?id=31&kat=1

Hi Sean, I bought this computer (my first one) because of the large display and as the regular Zoop was so easy to use. But I was a bit disappointed in the beginning.
    - I totally agree that the manual is not very good (actually quite bad especially in comparison with the old Zoop one) and Suunto should improve it asap.
    - I think the buttons are a bit hard to push, especially with the protectorscreen so I took it off as well.
    - And I think the userinterface is not always very logical - and without a manual - this can be quite annoying.
But after a while I got more familiar with it and now it’s okay for me.
I would like to download the data to my pc as well but I agree that the cable is much too expensive. So where did you buy that cable?
    Rgds, Peter

Ascent speed indicator is a small bar on the edge of the screen, barely visible what were they thinking ? Besides, interface isnt user friendly at all, buttons are catastrophic. Sold it after 2 dives. Went for a Shearwater, that's a WHOLE other world on every aspects...

    • @SeanWalberg
      @SeanWalberg  2 года назад

Well, yes, you can't really compare this to a Shearwater. But then again it's 5 or 6 times what this costs.

@@SeanWalberg I know, I know, but still, they could've done so much better adressing little obvious détails. Without that ascent bar issue, i wouldve kept it. Thanks for the review anyway.

Most watches have expensive cables. Check below in the comments for a third party cable that’s much cheaper.

10x a lot, it still expensive, but better then I have found so far. BTW, I didn't mean you are scamming. In Israel, packages up to 60usd are tax free, 87usd makes it a real hassle to deal with and it's not just the money, if custom picks it you can just forget about it... After all it is only a usb cable...
