Great Video as always, and I believe in FCX long term - but recorded just before earnings date last week, and should really be edited before posting it on July 22nd... - Look how the stats have changed just 5 days after recording. I just opened a second investing account for my satellite portfolio, and I'm gonna start to pick some value stocks within a few days for a Dividend Snowball strategy. I have a 30+ years term goal. I do have a question though : when it comes to Value Investing, I always thought of a Price-to-Book ratio lower than 1, but some of those companies like FCX have a P/B ratio around 2.73 ! I'm a bit confused. Would there be some sectors such as Materials that would tend to have a higher average P/B ratio and we should just not worry about it if that ratio in the company is lower compared to its competitors ? I know Technology for example regularly has a very high P/B ratio, and I was thinking that stocks from that sector would be such a Golden pick if they happened to have temporarily a P/B ratio
P/B is better for financials because they carry assets at book value. Other sectors, you tun into lots of accounting issues like goodwill inflating assets. Outside financials, I just use price to sale because there are fewer accounting issues
