Has anyone found a better range build since the last patch? Because I don't have to use any focus potions or health consumables this has become my main build to farm the Crucible since the last Patch 1.0. It’s fast and efficient!
@@xWarlanx I think they nerf the focus gain way too much, as the mage builds are now suffering and the rest of the classes are still op. This is just my opinion but I think they should increase the focus gain even more only on mage weapons like the staff and spell runes, and lower it on the rest of the weapons. But before they make any new balance changes I think they should fix the attack speed stat, the poise stat and the damage reflect stat as they currently do nothing. The damage reflect used to one shot kill everything in the first day when they released the game and now even if you have 11 damage on block it just does 1 damage. I have also seen knock back resistance on some armour pieces but when I look at the character stats I don’t see that resistance being included there, same for the attack speed, I would like to see how much overall % or points we have in that stat.
Great Puss! By the way bout battle mage: In general, I managed to partially solve the problem. I've rolled the Ice Breaker with focus and life stealing when dealing damage. I inserted the ice throw rune into it. I inserted the staff of the Falling Sky into the third slot of the weapon (it has a blink, but I don't understand why it is needed at all). I transferred 8 points from intelligence to health. I increase the damage with a bun (there is an Apple Pie that gives + 10% damage for 600 seconds), most likely it is less than a rune, but at least something. I have turned out to be a Battle Mage of the Frost Plague (hello Prince Arthas). Echo knight "died by daylight." By the way, the ice throw rune freezes it.
That sounds like a really good improvement to the build. As for the ice throw, I have the rune but I’m trying to find another weapon similar in damage to the one I made with the fire throw, I just can’t find one with that amount of damage. I still keep farming for now. I notice that the higher the base damage of the weapon is the better the damage of the throw rune will be, so adding this rune on a two handed weapon seems to give better results, and not just that but I notice that the bigger the weapon is the bigger the hit-box it has, and it has better chance to give even more focus on damage dealt.
Larry, the thing is that two-handed weapons really have a bigger hit box. And this radically changes the situation - a one-handed weapon is "scrolled" fewer times on the echo knight model. And as you know, the number of "revolutions" of the weapon when thrown directly affects the focus regen and the theft of life. Besides, the ice throw rune really freezes this skinny asshole. From a blow with a weapon with ice damage, it probably does not take this ice damage to freeze. But when thrown, the damage from the number of "scrolls" of the ice sword is more than enough. However, in my case, I had to give up heavy armor, otherwise I just couldn't lift such a weight. The icebreaker is very heavy. Important clarification: the impression is that three rings for increasing damage and armor are more suitable for the battle mage build - they increase the damage of the main weapon and, accordingly, the damage of the throwing runes. And this increase is greater than the increase in damage of rune spells from the ring with the corresponding affix
@@LarryPuss try the Filleter - one-handed sword base dmg 22 - 23 tier III (you can up it) and need 42 int.... or Cronus - you can purchase recipe and craft it
Cool build. I wanted to try a spear/bow build like this when I first started, but didn’t like the spear available in my stat spread initially (Dex/fth). I think focus gain on damage dealt breaks a lot of things and is one of the things I dislike about the current rune attack spamming design. It makes weapon and skills with multiple hits far more valuable than single hit weapons like a lot of 2H. Cone shot being a good example of this. It hits what, 7 times, each triggering “on damage dealt” effects. And on the topic of cone shot, I just realized in this video that it doesn’t function like a cone. It shoots all arrows directly at the target which seems counter intuitive for what the design is meant to be: a shotgun bow attack for close range.
You are absolutely right about the cone shot. Also, on the topic of your Dex/fth build I think there is a higher damage bow for Dex/fth and if you use the cone shot rune on it you might get even higher damage than I currently get in this video. The game is still in early access and I'm seeing the developers trying really hard to fix stuff and balance things but currently there are so many things broken with the game: like poise is not working, attack speed the same, knockback resistance is a stat you see on armors but doesn't do anything, they nerf the damage reflect to a point it does nothing... and now in the last patch the focus gain is also broken as it does not offer any focus back, the only one that works is focus on damage dealt, I managed to get with a character 187% focus gain and its not working at all. So, overall a fun game but still a lot of basic things to fix.
@GooberTroy Bro, this is still an arpg game, albeit with soulslike elements. And the mechanics of life steal and manalich are integral parts of the painstaking and wise construction of your magician's build. However, in order to achieve this result, you have to try very hard to grind equip and roll and select synergistic equipment. So I wouldn't say that these mechanics break the game. To suffer just as the ancient Gods bequeathed, there are Dark Souls 1 and 2. But this is still an arpg - it's bout build a brilliant, self-sufficient, autonomous build!
