Zimbambwe, Namibia, Botwana, Lesotho, and South Africa are super clean. And if you live with the theme, you will notice that they don't have the mentality of the West and Central Africa. Traditional Shona Stone Sculpture. It has taken the world by storm, but no credit has been given and royalties paid to the original artists. I watch movies and see copy Shona stone sculptures of great sculptors like Nicholas Mukomberanwa and Bernard Takawira adorning the set. I've even seen cheap minature copies of famous pieces like the Mother and Child Sculpture and Family Circle Sculpture selling everywhere from flea markets in South Africa to Marks & Spencer ( for those who do not know, an iconic department shop in the UK). I am sure the artists have not received a penny from the sales of those copies in M&S. Perhaps the worst was I know that the original sculptures sell for tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands in countries like the US and UK, but people making all the money are both western and Zimbabwean exploitative dealers/middle men. They pocket the hundreds of thousands and the artists merely get hundreds. I hope artists have become wiser and more savvy over the years, and that the government or a local Arts Alliances have assisted them in copywriting and trading marking their work, and showing and selling their art directly abroad to cut out the blood sucking middle men.

Peanut butter soup, it’s basically what we call groundnut soup in parts of Nigeria. The swallow in Nigeria is called Tuo massara mostly in northern Nigeria, there’s also Tuo shinkafa (made with rice), there’s also gari (made with cassava) and fufu (made with cassava) then pounded yam. This is relatively similar around Africa. Just different names

    • @marigoldbeam5475

We have peanut stew in Zimbabwe too, you can make it with any meat, chicken, beef. I think the West African reference to 'soup' is what threw my brother and sister. In Zimbabwe soup literally means soup. The type that is prepared and eaten alone, usually as an entree in western cuisine. In Zimbabwe what you call soup, we call stew.
