Mercedes 300D Running on 100% Vegetable Oil

Totally stock 1984 Mercedes 300D running 100% waste vegetable oil collected from restaurants and filtered. No modifications have been done to the car whatsoever. It actually runs smoother on the veggie oil.

will any 300d do this or only the w123?

I believe any would run it just fine, W114/115 even the W124 if it had diesel in the name. I don't believe any of the ones with that naming scheme before they switched to the modern numbering were anything but indirect injection (IDI).
