    • @hazelangus

Very true. We've always known him as extremely private. Unlike many others in the entertainment industry, he actually doesn't like the attention, or at the very least keeps it at arms' length as much as possible.
He takes part in it when it is his job to do so, like when promoting films. Other than that, he keeps his head down. This trial required him to tear himself open and expose the nasty, untidy, damaged, perfectly imperfect core of himself.
And we saw it, and many of us said "Ok, we see you've not always made the best decisions, but we still like you". But he couldn't have known that this would happen, given what happened in the UK.

As a doctor myself, I really felt for Dr Blaustein. I can see the empathy in him and his desire to protect his patient. He appears as someone who takes his oath seriously. People who think he is breaching HIPAA have to understand that doctors who testify don't just wake up one day and decide to break doctor-patient confidentiality. There are organisations we can consult (that have lawyers who provide medico-legal advice) that guide us through certain processes, such as the ones you are witnessing.

It has clearly been proven through testimony that not all people involved drank and used variety of drugs with regularity as Mr Depp did.
It has been more than established that JD cyclical trying to be sober and then using again is more weighted as far as time that non-sober times dwarfs sober time! JD gets so intoxicated to point of black ours so how can he under penalty of perjury for lying….testify he never was physical abusive or sexually abusive. He has no recall….how can he state one way or another that he he never PA/SA Amber?
The other thing pointing to his getting out of control and sending Amber graveling texts…saying he realises he went way to far and he can’t believe he went there.>if she could forgive him he would never do it again. That is a confession.

Just finished watching Johnny's psychiatrist's depo and sobbed like a baby through the whole thing. That was so heart wrenching for me to see and hear. I have always seen that Johnny seemed to be a very private person and an introvert and for him to go to these lengths and lay his most private thoughts, feelings, struggles and actions bare before the world in order to clear his name and set the record straight may just be one of the bravest acts I have ever borne witness to. I know I could not be that brave. To me it just confirms the veracity everything he has said in his testimony and also about what he wanted to accomplish with this trial. To have the opportunity to set the record straight and get his side out there for his children's sake and to clear his name. We all have demons that we struggle with. We are human. In my humble opinion he is an incredibly brave human and I really hope he can move on to a much healthier and happier place after this is all over with and find true love, joy and peace. I hope when this is over he reaches out to this doctor again. He seems like a very caring person who had Johnny's best interests in mind.

I agree and if she really is BPD? I dated a woman a couple years ago whom has never been diagnosed but she has a lot of traits of borderline i discovered. Luckily it waa mostly a long distance relationship, complicated but not nearly that volitile and i can tell you, even though much of our communication was via internet, the way it affects you is insane. I had planned to move 2 states away just to be with her and luckily it didnt work out because I demanded she get some professional help when i started connecting the dots but she percieved that as me rejecting her and abandoning her. The kind of push/pull that they can do alone is so painful and mine abuse was minor compared to his. Its been a year and my feelings for her are still very confusing but if she would have agreed to get the help she needed, i would have been there to support her. She was a my first love in high school. The trauma bonding is just so powerful, i still love her and my heart still aches so I can only imagine how hard this must be for him. I completely understand why he can't look at her. It would be like looking at someone you loved so much but knowing that they are not really capable of loving you full time and that they will only hurt you more while throwing daggers at your ❤ . I'm a severe abuse survivor, most occurred back in the 60s-70s. I see the childhood damage that both AH and JD have that put them in the position of having a totally toxic relationship. I recognize the signs that JD displays that he was the abuse victim in the relationship. When you carry those scars yourself, you can often see them easily in others.
What is often asked by the regular public, is how does an abuse victim tolerate the blatant abuse and why do they not leave an abusive situation. The answer is "Training". A childhood abuse victim is raised where abuse had been raised where the abuse is the norm. People who were not abused don't realize that the childhood survivor doesn't know any different. Ironically such a situation often feels normal. When getting therapy I would be discussing my past and was frequently told by my therapist "You know that's abuse, don't you?" I would be clueless. How was I to know other children weren't punished with a cat 'o nine? How was I to know being sent to a room on only water with no food for four days wasn't normal for other 6 years olds?
The first rule in most childhood abuse "Don't talk, keep silent. For SA victims usually includes severe life threatening threats.
It's sad, but raised with the severe abuse JD was raised with, JD had no defenses when Amber displayed the same abuse his mother did when he was a child. The behavior was familiar. His coping techniques and behaviors (location/ physical withdrawal, increased drug and alcohol use to numb emotional pain) would instinctively kick in.
In the beginning, AH had focused on being his ideal, AH had taken that time to know the mental and emotional needs and weaknesses. AH had then patterned the abuse for maximum effect. The Borderline behavior pattern of "I love you/I hate you/don't leave me" behavior shown by the recordings for example when he temporarily leaves to get space AH shell die if he leaves (even if temporary for space). This behavior also preyed on JD's trauma from childhood with his mom. On of his biggest fears was that AH would actually suicide. He also didn't want to give up on the relationship or leave as his dad did. JD's mother had been suicidal when his dad left when JD was a kid.
Abuse victims are often sought out by preditory people seeking to abuse. Abuse victims are already well trained, and often will tolerate behaviors unknowingly that non-abuse survivors won't. Abuse survivors often have poor or nonexistent boundaries. Their childhood abuse never allowed development of functional boundaries, so the abuser doesn't have to overcome boundaries with these victims.
The abuse survivor usually already has a significantly damaged self-image and self-esteem, and with the childhood training, the abuser usually has little or no work in order to initiate and increase control of the victim. Usually, the low self-esteem, poor self-image, and usual history of the problematic relationships make the victim very susceptible to the abusers "love bombing". This is the setting up an a quick, extremely intense relationship that appears to the victim to be everything they always wanted and had been terrified they would never have. This creates in the victim almost an addiction for the " love bombing". So, when the abuser starts the controlling behavior affection and reinfotrcement is used as a reward for good behavior, and removal of it becomes a devastating mental torture if the victim doesn't comply with the demands of the abuser. This sets up a cycle of the victim always the one to appease the abuser to keep the peace, and get their love bomb fix.
The greatest gifts JD has given the world by his cutting his soul to have it bleed in public, have several points: 1) males can and are abused and few acknowledge or even recognize it. 2) Having success, prosperity and fame do not automatically make life perfect, solve issues or assure happiness. It doesn't prevent abuse. 3) In DV, Despite the potential size and strength differences, a smaller and physically weaker person can be an incredible abuser to a larger, stronger victim with the right mental and emotional abuse. 4) By having this case televised, JD put on display the schemes, behaviors, actions, and how far some will go to perpetuate this type of abuse. People watching the case can learn from his errors, and hopefully recognize they need to get help. JD showed the world how to recognize such toxic people, and hopefully to know it's a lost cause. The victim hopefully will cut their losses, and run like hell. 5) Showing the world how to recognize toxic people and help family and friends if the behavior is recognized. 6) Abuse victims *should* be heard, but also there should be critical thinking and there should be evidence. Through this case, it was driven home how little impartial evidence AH actually had. If you are a victim; be sure to take photos, go to ER, see doctors, write notes, get witnesses and get professional help to get free.

The red flag warning signs of an abuser feel like love. On such a subconscious level.
Things you would have no problem telling a friend to run don't walk if they described a new love of their doing.
      It's insidious. A slow boil.
I think it's also a slow boil for the abuser too. Often they don't start out looking for a punching bag. Abuse and control is their coping mechanism and as they fall in with someone who keeps co-signing their bad behavior, they don't hold themselves to a higher standard of coping mechanisms. I am not victim blaming. I am observing how toxic relationships don't feel toxic at first to the people in them.

I love this post. I'm SO sick of the articles out there pearl clutching about how terrible JD and this trial is for abuse victims. Those headlines can only have come from people who've never experienced abuse. Or they're simply married to the flawed mantra of "believe all women", which has probably done more to hurt than help survivors. "Belief" implies accepting all claims as fact, without question. A better slogan for the movement would have been "take all abuse claimants _seriously_ while evaluating the totality of the situation", but that's not a good hashtag.
What _Amber_ did is terrible for survivors. The trial is rectifying it in all the ways you said. Johnny probably believed he really was the bad guy by the end, surrounded by people who had a shared interest in gaslighting him. While the lifestyle and monetary stakes involved here are unusual, this is textbook abuser stuff. When you're in it, it can be hard to really believe that such a thing could be happening (You MUST be the crazy one, everyone else says so). For me, seeing it all laid out in this trial has been a catharsis and a validation in so many ways.
Peace, happiness and healing to you 💜💗

Lessons learned: Innocent until proven guilty went out the window in 2016. JD was guilty the second AH walked out of the courthouse with the TRO.
AH's facial "injuries", which no one believes are from being hit by jd, were usually on the right side in roughly the same spot, a right hander like JD would normally strike the left side. Nurses notes mentioned she's on meds for cystic acne, which requires using sunscreen at all times, also per her testimony. A cyst would explain some of the minimal redness/swelling that appears/disappears at will.

I’m an RN and I read the MD notes pertaining to this incident. Her chief complaint was “headache”….MD’s never assess ANY serious medical condition over the phone, nor will they prescribe any medications over the phone unless the patient has already been seen in person for the new condition/complaint. Amber’s report of “concussion” was pitiful…In the chart she appeared to be looking for a head CT or MRI. That would never happen at the whim of a patient and other interventions would need to be present and there would be certain symptoms present to indicate the need for advanced imaging. She had no reports of specific symptomolgy, and even lied about the cause of her supposed-head injury. We know when patients are lying because there are specific things to look for in nearly any type of wound or trauma. It is rare that a patient knows how to make up these symptoms unless they’re medically trained. The one thing that bothered me was that Amber made the clinical notes look unreliable when she pointed out the error in the notes that called her a “well-nourished male” instead of a female. This was a clinical note that should’ve been more carefully reviewed and/or corrected by the MD before admitting it into evidence. That error negates a lot of the validity of the entire clinical note and this is why mistakes and errors are a big no-no in medicine.

You did a wonderful job explaining the context around that decision and ahhhh I just wish people would do more informing themselves before letting their emotions take actions for them.

Wasn’t it a done deal when Amber told Camille when Camille was asking her if the article is about Johnny. Amber said not just Johnny and Camille repeated so not just Johnny and then Amber said no not just Johnny. doesn’t that prove the case?

That witness was ridiculous. She knows nothing. It's all above her pay grade. There is no way top executives would tell any of the down belows about such a thing. I doubt it would even be an official conversation. I'm sure there are also no people at whatever studios who would have talked about articals about weinstein at the time. It's just not done that those things are talked about officially. Or overtly. She's a record keeper? I dont even know what she is tbh but nobody is going to record a gossipy conversation about what the tabloids are saying. Right?

I have been highly curious how AH and her team could claim multiple times in court that they had turned in all her evidence and devices, and no one dispute it, no repercussion. Did I misunderstand that she didn’t turn over her phones metadata, even after multiple sanctions?!?

Amber and her friends ONLY people who say he became angry when drunk. We have a zillion people including his 40 year old friend that say he didn’t change when he got drunk. Even Ellen Barkin corrected herself and clarified it was a “toss on table of the bottle.

I mean, it’s just dumb that they think showing Johnny was an asshole to people sometimes will display him as an abuser. We’ve all irrationally lashed out at a customer service person who we felt fucked us over etc. We all have asshole moments. That doesn’t make us domestic abusers.

Nope, never lashed out at a customer service employee because you know why? If you’ve ever been in that job, people like you taking their anger and personal problems out on us just trying to do our jobs for minimum wage is horrendous and ruins your whole week. Don’t lash out at innocent underpaid employees period the end

He isn't even the marrying type. The last time he was married was in the early 80s and it's not like he didn't have serious relationships between then and when he married AH.
