I like that you and ATLBlerd can disagree but still have a civil exchange. It would be fun to see you two gentlemen on opposite sides discussing an issue.
Dude your poster thing with Captain America is a stretch in this particular case. Sam is in the center flying plus being the largest image on the poster. Hes on the poster twice
@ChillMonger idk man, I don't excuse biases against black people, I just don't see it in this particular case. He's featured prominently on each post. I just don't think being in the middle literally matters as long as they are featured on a poster prominently
I live in Japan, I’m a black male but I went to go see sonic 3 last week and they had paper for all the movies coming out soon. ( I haven’t went to the theater in years) I didn’t even know this movie was coming out and when I watched 2 Japanese people pick the posters for upcoming movies, none of them picked the marvel movie. I instantly thought maybe it’s how the poster looks or they just don’t care at all about marvel. Idk but I think it’s something to your poster point.
At this point this movie being able to make the money back is out of question. So THE best case scenario for BNW is that, contrary to many expectations this movie turns out to be much better than a lot of people expected. If that happens then people will start to have more interest again. They will be like “whoa, this movie that I heard so many bad things about turned out to be actually good. If that is the case then these other upcoming movies should also be better than expected.” So in short, the best case scenario is that BNW generates goodwill which helps out Thunderbolts and Fantastic 4.
Black male hero, which marvel is sorely lacking right now in film. I will go see this. Just like everyone else will run out and see the WS Marvel films
There absolutely nothing that has been reported that this movie will fail. To the contrary, all indicators point to this being a successful start to a whole new chapter to an incredible Marvel run.
@ reshoots are to make a movie better and is part of the process. Any film student OR actor will tell you that. Their could be lighting issues, background sound, anything can cause a reshoot.
@@thealchemist5653 if the cost, let's say 300 million to make a move and the movie makes only 250 million that would be bad BUT, it said movie merchandise (action figures, t shirts etc.) makes 1 to 2 billion dollars in merchandise sales, it's a success. Wakanda Forever made 800 million in its box office run and less than 5 million dollars in merchandise sales and is considered a failure. Marvel movies and all franchise movies are just one long advertisement for merchandise. So studios are not dependent on movie profits alone. That's why you keep seeing Ghostbusters movies. The merchandise.
54:23 Eh, I can understand that perspective, but I dont necessarily watch fiction to pretend the ills of the world dont exist... including racism. I dont mind a realistic scenario happening in fiction. In fact, people deluding themselves too much with fantasy is why half the country is able to pretend that its no big deal. Im black too by the way.
Yet it's a big deal when we want to recast the character of T'Challa in a fictional setting but the argument is art should imitate life. Seems like ppl want to cherry pick when it suits them, eh? 😏🤷🏾♂️
@Haramu-Fal0 T'Challa and Chadwick Boseman are two totally different people. That is a distinction that many people sadly can't make. Art can be whatever, it can imitate or it cannot, but in the case of the character T'Challa, it's ridiculous to pigeonhole a fictional character to one man, as if other actors don't exist.
I feel like marvel studios basically saw this video and heard your complaints because literally just 3 hours ago they released FIVE new posters with Sam in the centre. 😂

I jokingly spoke those two points you just shared. It doesn't hold any water. We have too much history to make excuses for it..

@@KentJackson46 it costs money, if the budget for the movie is over 300mil like runors say then it needs to make over 1b to make a profit.

lol nice. I'll find them.
So are you against Miles Morales being in live action film?
1) Miles wasn't called Falcon first then dropped it for the alias Spider-Man.
2) I'd love Miles to rebrand himself.
@ChillMonger 1) So your acceptance of legacy characters hinges on them never having a prior superhero name?
2) what would you call him?
