Best version. Saw the all acoustic version in 2019. The tone on Ronnie’s Strat reminds me of Maggie May when he was with Faces.
And Charlie didn’t use a match grip. Buddy Rich would have loved that. The new guy uses a match grip.

@@brankoj62 As a guitar player myself over 50 years.Ronnie is a player for the stones or faces. He is not in the same class as Mick Taylor. The best the stones ever had. Ronnie was the bass player in Jeff Beck band. Beck turned down the stones so they got Ronnie. Taylor did the Dead Flowers solo first and Ronnie copied it.

One of the greatest little known stories is about the friendship between the Stones and Gram Parsons. During a time period in the late 1960s/early 1970s, they both recorded Wild Horses and Dead Flowers. In Gram's biography "Grievous Angel", this was addressed: Gram wrote Dead Flowers, which was a gift to Mick and the boys. They recorded it first, he recorded it second. Wild Horses was written by the Stones and gifted to Gram, and he recorded it first and they recorded it second. As they were reaching two distinctly different groups of listeners, few people were aware that this happened. Polly Parsons (Gram's daughter) and Jessica Hundley co-wrote the book, and it is still available at Amazon.
