      Madison Almany then what are you talking about? Your income is based on your family if you don’t have a job, so yes it would affect you because you’re parents would pay more taxes which would equate to buying less stuff and going out less. So yes it would affect you.

  • @Balmung3688

    For people missing the point:
    A 30% pay cut makes a poor person unable to live while for a rich person it may only be a slight inconvenience.
    This is why taxes matter, and policy surrounding taxes matter as well. A tax increase on the poor makes life(at least as one would see it in a 1st world country) impossible. On the rich it may make life more difficult, but you will never be hungry or have to live on the streets.

      Actually we don't need taxes here in America. If I say we do have a tax it's a flat rate tax where there are three categories. 5% 10% and 15%. Corporate tax of 18% and small businesses 12%.
      You have a very negative perception of how huge government in packs how much taxes they want to take out if we can shrink the government level by 30% the states by 20% and local by 10% you could save trillions off of that.

    As a Swedish person who pays 33% of her salary I don't have a problem with paying taxes. Yes we pay a lot but we get a lot back too. Like education,universal healthcare, good streets and it's all there to make us better people so for the middle class this may not be very convenient but for the poor it's amazing as everyone has a chance to get an education and improve their situation.

      R. Tan rich people don't pay enough taxes. They get out of it by donating and stuff. If you know anything about taxes you'll know that rich people will scam their way out of them. You're right, no one with a lot of money wants to pay them.

    • @KennyakaTI
      @KennyakaTI 6 лет назад +14

      G Cool poor people don't really pay taxes either. If you look at who actually pays the majority of income taxes you will see it's the top percent

    • @randymiller1610
      @randymiller1610 6 лет назад +10

      G cool: If you know anything about taxes you will know that donating is not a way to get out of taxes, unless you plan to donate all the money you earn. It will lower the amount of income used to base taxes off of, but you'll still be out a lot more money than just paying taxes.

    • @Lara-lg4jd
      @Lara-lg4jd 6 лет назад +10

      @Jim Morrison well the problem we have with imigrants is pretty new and if you exclude that problem our country is pretty great. There is an election going on in a few months and there are some promising political parties that have a solution for that. We are no utopia nor is any other country but our taxes benefit a lot of people and for that it is worth it. I studied in the US for a year as an high school exchange and the amount of people choosing majors and colleges on the amount of money they had was huge. Some couldn't even go to the colleges they wanted to because of the cost. All education in my country is free and for that I happily pay taxes becouse it's just me giving back for the cost of my education. The imigrants are a problem and I'm not saying anything else but you have to have in mind that no country is perfect

    • @katherinecovington4850
      @katherinecovington4850 6 лет назад +8

      Fat Cookie 1. It’s really obvious these women don’t have families based on how they spend their money 2. They made the women have a lot more money seem ridiculous and it would be less ridiculous if they had kids to spend it on. Kids are expensive and a big part of many people’s lives, so it would make sense to show that perspective.

    • @jonguyen100
      @jonguyen100 5 лет назад +4

      @@katherinecovington4850 they aren't ridiculous at all. Only if you have very rigid ideas about what a woman needs to act like.

      janugie100 I don’t have rigid ideas about what women should be like....I was just saying that older women who make a lot probably wouldn’t say something like “my ego would be affected but not my actual lifestyle.” I just wanted to point out the differences between people who have a lot of money when they are younger and when they are older.

      You don't need to have all that at once...
      Don't get an expensive car if you have an expensive mortgage.
      Don't start a family if you have an expensive car and a large mortgage.
      Don't buy an expensive car if you plan to start a family.. Its that simple. Cars are liabilities that lose value as time goes.

    I live in Canada and we pay 30% to taxes. I would never give it up. We have an amazing public education system (private schools aren't even a thing!). There is also extremely reduced post-secondary education. U of T is the 19th most prestigious university in the world and tuition is only like $10,000CAN. We have security in knowing that there are more social programs to help us if we are impoverished. We have free healthcare. All sorts of things. It seems huge, but that's because your not used to it. Everything is cheaper here too and jobs take into account the amount of money paid in taxes. There also aren't so many poor people here as there are here. No shade, but we don't have your history. The only people born with a real disadvantage in Canada are the Indigenous and I hope that we can reconcile with them soon. In short, taxes aren't as scary as they seem as long as they are used for the right things.

      The Fine Print it was prob Vancouver or Victoria. I visited both a couple years ago but I got them mixed up tbh lol. They both have houses that would be 200,000 dollars more than America. Also the amount of homeless people i saw in the streets were more than I’ve honestly ever seen before (besides Rome)

    • @jessalalacross239
      @jessalalacross239 6 лет назад +1

      Alexandra's World Vancouver and Victoria would have prices comparable to other large American cities, and are both facing foreign buyer problems that drive up prices. Is anyone saying Canada is a utopia? Definitely not. But overall, with universal healthcare, cheaper post-secondary studies with better government support in paying for it (in my experience, how healthcare specifically operates and the educational system are provincial issues), better funded public schooling, and a better public discord, as a dual citizen of both countries, barring some crazy incentives, I’d be hard pressed to move back to the states.

      They might be a state officer. They can make serious bank. Also, even ordinary city police officers can pull in a decent salary (although maybe not 85k) with enough overtime (which, i understand, is easy to get in a lot of districts).

    I don't get how someone is making 20K a year in NYC as an entry-level administrator with multiple jobs. Minimum wage in NYC for firms with less than 10 employees is 13.5$; for all other firms is 15$.
    13.5 x 40 x 50 = 27K
    15 x 40 x 50 = 30K
