Anytime you have a Governor blessing People to practice right to protest/riot, but refusing others the Free exercise of their FAITH, YOU KNOW HE IS MAKING A POLITICAL STATEMENT OF SUPPRESSION/OPPRESSION, AND NOT ONE BACKED BY THEIR god of science!!!🙏🙏🙏
What this guy isn't telling you is that his church (and all of them, by extension of SCOTUS' ruling) is still subject to state laws regarding the size of the indoor congregation and that there is to be no singing or chanting, and that face masks must be worn. He and his congregants are hardly the victims of persecution they like to portray themselves as being. Given his background, Pastor Ahn should know better than compare obeying state laws to the treatment meted to Christians under the Communist Koreans. It's especially fascinating considering that throughout the New Testament, Christians are exhorted to obey the laws of the land they live in to avoid conflict with the state. The earliest Christians were persecuted for refusing to worship emperors and kings as gods, which is understandable. The exhortations began with Jesus himself: "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, give to God what is God's." Having to deal w/ reduced attendance and limitations on worship is not being punished by crucifixions. But born-again busybodies will have their drama and martyrs, and that's all this lawsuit was about. When the next right-wing dictator wannabe Trump type comes along and begins closing churches, confiscating Bibles, arresting clergy members, etc. (which right-wing dictators always do), they will learn what persecution really is. And then it will be too late. As someone said in an on-line chat room, "For thousands of years, evangelicals warned that the antichrist was coming. When he did, they voted for him."
