I collect Edward Gorey books!
"The Green Beads" was actually a later book of Gorey's - I don't remember the exact date, but I can assure you, from the style of the illustrations, that it was drawn at the peak of his career - probably sometime in the mid to late 70's.
She definitely looks like someone who would collect macabre objects.
Very early ed was a major influence on my artistic style. I was a huge fan of the Chuck Jones animation style when I discovered ed inspired the Adam's family tv show that has always been a must watch.😛😃👍🎃👻👌😁🚀😛
