    A high speed wobbly ceiling fan will strike fear in the heart of anyone standing under it or even near it. An unbalanced fan could also end up with damage to the motor's bearing and bushings. This could lead to an irritating unnecessary fan noise. Using our Minka Aire Supra we will teach you to safely balance your ceiling fan. Don't forget, anytime you work on your ceiling fan be sure to turn the fan off at the breaker.

    Bingo! Thanks to your how-to video, it worked perfectly on a modern, high-tech, short bladed fan - that was located 18 feet high. Tightened mounting screws, and that did the trick! Thanks again! (Amazing how many household appliance problems I've solved and repaired using RUclips videos like yours!)

    Wow. I had a wobbly ceiling fan in my home office ever since I moved into my new house two years ago. I replaced the blades thinking it was a balancing issue (they needed updating anyways) and it still wobbled violently so I just left it off and put it on the list of things to replace, which sucked because it looks nice with the new blades and I couldn't find anything new I liked better. Well, less than a minute into your video I rotated the fan motor about an inch and felt the hanger ball drop into the groove, and now it runs perfect. Thanks for all the money and hassle you just saved me!

When I measured the blades from the ceiling, they were off by 2-3 inches. I bent them back to within about a 1/4 of an inch and it fixed the wobble.

    Replaced our ceiling fan with a new one. It wobbles and this video was dead on. I used the existing bracket and it was loose. The down rod wasn't quite in place and I did adjust it so it was and I also tightened the blades attached to the brackets, and wobble gone. Didn't need to use the balancing kit at all.
    Thank you.

    Thanks for the very concise instructions! QUESTION: should a fan wobble a very little? Meaning, noticeable but not out of control like the one in your video.

    • @Delmarfans
      @Delmarfans  8 лет назад +1

      +jaykob Thanks for the question! If your ceiling fan has a longer downrod, a tiny bit of wobbling would happen, but we'd still suggest using one that's shorter and more stable. Otherwise, a ceiling fan ideally should not wobble even a little. It can be due to a variety of factors (not installed properly, blades aren't balanced, not having a quiet motor, etc). Hope this helps! -Alexa

  • @Delmarfans

    Hi Linda Wilson-Williams, thanks for the question! Most fans can handle up to a 25 degree slope, so it would be helpful to know what degree your ceiling is sloped at to know if you would need a slope ceiling adapter. That could be causing the wobble. The other issue could be if the fan was not installed properly or if one of the blades is not installed properly. -Alexa

    This method got most of it fixed. However at higher speeds it still wobbles a bit. I think it wasn't assembled symmetrically.
    It's a Hunter and looks tough to disassemble up high, so I'll look at balancing first.
