    Bravissimo Mr. Cho! I've just spent 1h watching many videos of this prelude and, for me, your performance is among the best. Perfect tune and clear beautiful projection.

      Try Wispelwey, it's just incredible.

    • @CrimsenScarr
      @CrimsenScarr 6 лет назад +1

      His playing is undoubtedly beautiful, but Ophélie Gaillard's version will always hold a special place in my heart.

    • @Violedegambe
      @Violedegambe 6 лет назад +5

      Rémy Miller I love Ophelie Gaillard too, but I find it more like Romantic Bach on baroque cello. Wispelwey is more informed and gives an Historical interpretation which I find really incredible.

    • @s.l5787
      @s.l5787 4 года назад +1

      @@Violedegambe It's not more informed... historical interpretation is all speculation which has zero basis in Bach. We have absolutely no idea what Bach wanted, only the general trend of some Baroque composers (which are still speculations)

    • @s.l5787
      @s.l5787 4 года назад +2

      @@Violedegambe you don't have to agree, it's a fact. Reading the treatise doesn't teach you shit about what Bach wanted, let alone the music of other composers. They give you very general guidelines that is actually very common sense. Many sources contradict each other but you'd know if you have done your research. Even Scott Ross admitted it's delusional to believe they're closer to the Baroque ideals just by reading some texts. Let alone Bach who wasn't so influenced by specific sonority of his time.

    I’ve recently subscribed to your channel, Mr. Cho, and it’s been a source of joy and hope. I’m getting over an injury of 7 years (I refused surgery), and videos like these are my go-to.
    Wanted to say this is such a sweet interpretation of the 6th. I’ve seen the Ma and Rostropovich videos, and they can get down and dirty. Yours is more like a nightingale. You are your own musician, and it’s definitely a unique but beautiful sound.
