Okay, a few things... Spore, False Swipe, Soak, Smokescreen. Soak to hit ghost types with False Swipe and grass types with Spore, and to reduce the opponent's STAB so you need to heal less for legendary catching. Smokescreen for further reducing the amount of times you need to heal while battling legendaries for a long time, like if you want them in a difficult ball and it takes a while. Skill Swap or Gastro Acid are also useful for situations where the opponent's ability is annoying, and Heal Block was useful in previous gens but it's not available in this one. Also, using Ditto is super tedious (plus removing your other moves, wasting a turn, etc). The easiest way to get a desired move onto your Smeargle is to.... wait for it.... get a wild Smeargle to Sketch it, then switch to your Smeargle and Sketch it back. Then run, re-encounter the same Smeargle, and it'll have Sketch available again. Repeat. Takes like 2 minutes. Finally, have a Breloom with Spore and False Swipe as backup to Smeargle. Smeargle's stats suck even when they're optimized to the max at level 100, so also having a lv 100 Breloom with maxed Atk to get the opponent's HP down quicker is MUCH better.
I also use Sport, False Swipe, and Soak. I put an attack for my fourth move so I don't have to Switch out to KO Pokemon I run into. Soak is also good for Rock and Steel types so it doesn't take forever to get to 1 HP. I used Horn Leach because it healed and was super effective against water (which Soak makes the other Pokemon). But Gastro Acid is a good move if you don't care about it being able to KO random stuff. I like to make Smeargle's Tera type into something with immunity to whatever I'm trying to catch if Recoil is going to be a concern. Usually Ghost, but there are enough Wild Charge users that Ground can help too.
I love using smeargle as a shiny hunter. Typically I try to get one with Own Tempo and my move set will be False Swipe, Hypnosis, Soak, and Skill Swap. I use soak to make sure every move can hit, and will use Hypnosis to put them to sleep, if sleep fails due to an ability I use Skill Swap to make it work lol the Own Tempo is just to make sure the pokemon cant knock themselves out if they wake up confused for any reason
@ThalissonAlmeida This is also really clever. Alternatively, you could have like a trevenant in your party with the ability harvest, teach it Skill Swap and Trick and have it hold a leppa berry. Use those two moves to make sure your shiny doesn't run out of pp and it frees up a slot on your Smeargle. You could use that free slot to add a move like heal pulse to make sure your target would never faint from any self harming moves. I forgot to mention, I usually do this because my goal is to catch every pokemon in a generic pokeball, and those odds are abysmal.
My idea for PVP is Spore and Burning Bulwark with Choice Scarf. This may work in Best of 1 matches in ranked. Option 1) Spore something or Option 2) Burn Protect and Burn physical attacker Your opponent often has fear because of spore and will try to knock it out fast and then they get burned in return. Mind Games
If you are following the same method in the video, ensure you use a potion or something first to let the transformed ditto use spore on you, once your asleep, just spam sketch until you wake up. If you have done like the video says it will only be able to use spore. Hope this helps :)
I was using a chesto berry to wake up (and then get put back to sleep repeatedly), until the ditto used up all of it's moves, and then I was trying to use sketch - this was the problem!@@TheAnimeStopPod

Love the build! It’s my new shiny hunter now, so good!
I use Gastro Acid in place of Skill Swap, so I can still keep my Smeargle's Technician

@@AaelmfaoBDplays abysmal odds but not impossible! I like your way of thinking
@@AaelmfaoBDplays I feel you, I did the same when I was playing XY, but in Premier Balls.
actually u can get momento if smeargle has substitute as momento fails when done into a substitute
so can be sketched
Learning something new everyday!
Ooooh straight name dropping about the shouts xD
Dude this is amazing! Thank you!
Happy it helped 👍🏼
Soon come, pokemon master sav
We gotta brush you up on some abilities it seems, but I'm glad to see you've finally partnered up with a more reliable shiny hunter.
I am weakkkk in the knowledge sensei
@@TheAnimeStopPod *in bombastic tone* Not to worry, Lee. With perseverance and the Power of Youth, even YOU can become a Splendid Pokémon Trainer.
Why not super fang? 2 super fangs and anything should be at 25% hp?
Thanks a lot tho
Wouldn't be a shiny hunt without a fail

Big brain I like it 🧠
I've been struggling to Sketch the move Spore. Every time I try to Sketch it fails. Has anyone had this issue?

Mystery gift Darkrai should mean its easy enough to get Dark Void onto it as well
Yes sir!
Pretty sure Dark Void fails if it's used by any Pokemon that isn't Darkrai.
@@DTrain5742 I think I might test it and see
Do a incineroar doubles guide next (or whimscott)
Incineroar and smeargle?
Lmao felt that
Wasn't smeargle an absolute terror because he could copy signature moves too?
what was Darkrai's signature again?
Dark Void? Yeah Smeargle is broken, can learn near enough any move!
I was shouting at Sav aswell bout a non shiny hunter
Sad times
Your just proving my point that smeargle is the best Pokémon ever
I didn’t know… I am sorry
what about the credit for me and the other artist-
@@MyDeadFriendWasMyCurse I mean... You are deffo an artist, but on the channel it's Hampster's art. Apologies Sir
Just use wild Smeargle. Attack Smeargle with the attack, let it sketch the move, switch to your Smeargle, and then Sketch the new attack.
Oh…. You did not just do that!? 🤦🏻♂️
Btw I got one without hunting for it lol
🤣🤣 I had trouble obviously
I just did some double battles in the dlc and copied my owm pokemon moves
Ok...hear me out double smeargle one focused on attacks the other on support much like mirror b's ludicolo
👀 it’ll work, but for most rule sets, you can’t have 2 of the same pokemon. But would be fun to try for sure
I didn’t wanna have to face it gallade we need to stop catching pokemon so much ok. I’m sorry😢
Sav why shiny
