My dear French people, We are a couple aged 42-43. I subscribed to your channel for a mini vacation in Paris... it was a dream, thanks to your vlogs I made the best decisions. Now I'm following you for the next mini winter vacation in Strasbourg. I like your presentations, you are exactly to my taste and understanding. I can even say that I love you🤗 and I was even thinking that maybe I will meet you in Paris. Thank you for what you do😊❤
We flew into Paris CDG and caught the TGV from the airport into Strasburg, a beautiful 2-hour run. The Christmas markets are magical. Later we took a Strasbourg city bus across the Rhine into Kehl, Germany for a day trip. Love the Strasbourg trams, so easy to use and get around the whole city. One of the best European vacations we ever took.
Merci Antoine et Coleen pour cette visite ! Strasbourg is my hometown and thanks to you, I feel as if I was there even though I live in Aix en Provence today. I'm touched and moved by your video. Greetings from Aix en Provence
Bonjour !
🎄☃️Strasbourg & Colmar are the gems of the Alsace Region. Les Frenchies videos always highlight the best of the Christmas Holidays. Greetings from Mexico🇲🇽!
Thank you for doing this video on Strasbourg. I've been to many places, but I find Strasbourg to be a major standout. Love the food, people and architecture. A cultural delight!
1:12 I agree about Trainline. Another great feature is that if your train is delayed and you are entitled a rebate it happens automatically. No forms required to get the rebate. Today our train to Paris from Strasbourg was over an hour late departing and we received a €29 rebate back onto our credit card. Love your info. So accurate and entertaining.
The best Strasbourg Christmas Market tour I’ve ever seen on RUclips. You guys are the bomb!! Loved everything: crocks for onions and garlic, your liveliness, the foods you ate zooming in on them to show us every detail, the choucroute restaurant, the Jambonneau and your excitement over it, the tarte aux myrtilles, and on and on. I wish the video did never end!! 🥰
I was there in September and you made miss the place so much. 😭❤️ There is something about Strasbourg that’s unique and magical, and you can’t get enough of it!
I was born near Strasbourg... 1. Glad you found Crémant d'Alsace instead of Champagne, that's local and as we say in Alsace "rather a good crémant than a bad champagne" 2. Among all the stuff you saw I would recommend the hand-made pottery coming from nearby (shop in the Rue des Frères) 3. The cruise is a good tip. One can quickly learn a lot about Strasbourg and I'm in love with the locks 4. Antoine I think you had a saucisse de Strasbourg and not a Frankfurter 😉 5. Some Christmas markets food is a bit too far from tradition imho but well at least the restaurants favour local economy, even for the water bottles (I saw "Celtic" and "Lisbeth") 6. I hope you had the possibility to enter the cathedral (highest building in... the world ! at the time)
This is on my bucketlist. I live in the Netherlands, close to the German border. So every winter I visit a German christmasmarket. This one in Strasbourg is a great combination of German and French food and architecture.
I love your videos, how you love good quality food and how you describe it !! Thanks for letting us sharing it with you. P.S. This potato cake looks indecent
Alsace is my favorite section of France but I haven't been to their Christmas markets yet, it's on my "to do" list. In the fall/winter, wherever I am in Europe, I drink a lot of glühwein/mulled wine/glögg, I love it! Choucroûte is good but I get tired of it after a couple of days, so I eat a lot of tartes flambées and then head to a nearby Germany town for schnitzel and roasted potatoes. I went to southern Alsace as part of my 6-month world trip last year and brought home some myrtille liqueur, it's a delightful taste.
This is now on our “when we retire” bucket list. Hubby and I are both music directors, and Christmas is one of our busiest seasons. We have to travel in the summer with all the rest of the tourists. But someday! Until then, you guys keep showing us these amazing places!
Thank you for bringing back memories of our visit last year. I'm going to have to plan another trip. However, you missed Mireille Oster which had the most amazing varieties of Pain d'epices. Our one regret was not buying more in their shop.
What a wonderful tour of the markets and Strasbourg. Once upon a time, when I was 16 yrs old, my parents took me Strasbourg specifically to eat a Choux Croute at La Maison Kammerzell, visit some of Les Caves and eat wild boar dans les Vosges. I love your videos always giving a great taste of La France.
Thank you so much for your videos! I found your channel about a year ago and have been planning our trip based on what you've taught me. We leave in a week for a few weeks in Paris with a couple days in Strasbourg...We can't wait! We've been to Paris before, but have learned so much through your videos. Thank you, again. Merry Christmas!
We were in Strasbourg this time a year ago and absolutely loved it. So glad you got to go to Le Meteor, I was in heaven there. We'll definitely be back.
Such a beautiful video, bravi, Colleen and Antoine! Nothing beats the Christmas markets in Stsasbourg. Just one suggestion for your next time: the Alsatians accompany their choucroute with a glass of (not kidding) Riesling.
Strasbourg is a gorgeous town. You’d be crooked too if you were a few centuries old!! 😂. Another beautiful episode! You two are wonderful hosts. I’m glad to see that you finally found some bubbles.
I have absolutely. Positively. Wonderfully. Loved this . Also shed a few tears as I was reminded of all I miss about Europe. THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are good people, and you have found your niche with Americans who have minimal knowledge of France. You provide the best introductory course around! I have learned so much from you, and I'm here to thank you sincerely. Keep doing your good works. You are helping to bridge the divide between les français et les américains. On y va... toujours. ❤️
You guys are amazing! Learned so much from your videos. No "influencer" BS - just pure education. We're going to Paris for Christmas and you guys have been tremendously helpful and informative! Making the side trip to Strasbourg now! Merci beaucoup!
Hi from a proud Alsacian-Born 😃 6:15 forget about the champagne, Alsace has Crémant which is also a sparkling wine. Usually smaller cities in the wine areas of Alsace do feature wine, including crémant, on their Christmas market. Ha you finally found about Crémant a 18:12! If you come back during Christmas time, I recommend you to travel north to Wissembourg, especially when the Hans Trapp/Chriskindel Parade takes place.
Bonjour Antoine and Colleen. Thanks for taking us to Strasbourg. We did a Christmas-markets cruise down the Danube. Now we have to come back to Strasbourg. Joyeux Noel 🎅🎄
I love all the Christmas markets. I wish we had them in the US. It seems we don't really do Christmas anymore. It's just sad. In 2006 I was in Copenhagen and got to the market at Tivoli Gardens. So fun.
They may be celebrating Christmas but it's Christmas without Christ since the majority of people have lost faith in God, do not attend church, don't know anything about the Bible and have their own truth(s).
When we were planning our trip to Paris, I followed everything the Les Frenchies posted! Now that we are planning a Christmas Market trip next year, I was so excited to find this video. As with everything French, this video did not disappoint!!! Thanks Coleen and Antoine!!!
Omg I love it!! I'm a Colombian student living in Strasbourg and I have been watching your videos for a longgg time, I'd love to meet you guys, I hope you enjoyed Strasbourg
How wonderful!! I watched your Christmas Market tours last year & now I want to visit ALL of them, especially Strasbourg & Bruges; they do seem magical. You have turned my Bucket List into a Barrel! Merci! 🎄 🥂
be careful what you wish for! I visited both London and Paris this year to see the markets and enjoy the ambiance (yes, based on last years videos). London really knows how to dress up for the Holidays and the stores are magical. That said, aside from Covent Gardens, the "markets" were touristy and very repetitive. Paris was lovely (though not nearly as dressed up as London)......but it was a sea of madness! I feel like half of Europe was there the same week i was....the stores were nice, but I felt like I was going to be in everyone's instagram video! Markets are OK (notre dame had not opened yet)....but again repetitive and could be visited in 10 minutes...... (though we did thoroughly enjoy Toulerries!) While it was a nice trip, I'll enjoy future markets via youtube videos.... :)
Sooo Awesome 🎄🎄🎄...what a beautiful, exciting city during the Christmas season! I know the trains throughout Europe are excellent but 150 euro ($163) for a two hour trip seems pricey. I take Amtrak Milwaukee to Chicago (hour and a half) for $38 RT! Must be missing something? At 6 minutes the endearing word 'champagne' appeared per Colleen's quintessential favorite. Alas..to paraphrase the late, great Jimmy Dugan...there's no champagne in Strasbourg! This is Alsace where bier and Riesling reign....that's not a bad thing, especially when coupled with the marvelous foods of a region co-parented by Germans and French. There isn't a food I would turn down! Waffles reign 😊 Hope you cover more cities decorated for the holiday season...Merry Christmas 🎄
The pricing definitely depends on demand and how far in advance you buy tix. You"can" get tickets to Strasbourg for 30€ if you buy way in advance... Same with Bordeaux, Lyon or Nice.
Strasbourg’s Xmas Market looks fabulous. This video definitely confirms my interest in visiting the region. Thanks! And I love how the two of you have so much fun in your excursions!
You had me at the assorted Bratwurst and sauerkraut meals, and THEN you end with that waffle with Nutella and all that Whip Cream!!! Lord have mercy! Merci!!
THANK YOU Colleen and Antoine. We walked those streets and alleyways, and did the Batoboat and trains in October and loved seeing it all again at Christmas time. 💞💞💞. So. Loved this video!
Well guys you did a lot in two days. Strasbourg at Xmas is super! My first visit to Alsace-Lorraine was in 1982. Rented a car and drove from Colmar to Strasbourg, stopping in many small villages. This was a week tour & my first introduction to Alsatian food. The highlight of this trip to Alsace was dinner at the Michelin 3☆☆☆ L'Auberge de I'll! SUPER VIDEO!
Just a great and entertaining video of the great food and wines. The wine brought my boss alive and frantically was writing notes for the PAs who all off until Tuesday, she is finding her shopping muscle via your videos, keep them coming Le Frenchies.
My wife and I spent 10 days in Kehl to see my Son and Grandson in 2022 during December. We also stayed in Strasbourg dur. We spent days in the Christmas market in Strasbourg along with Offenburg, Baden Baden and Kehl. Loved every minute of it especially Strasbourg. I had many of the foods you suggested and the experience is magical. Christmas in Europe is magical. We also spent two days and one night in Paris and to see the city of lights all dressed up for Christmas was awesome!
I read the Estelle Ryan Genevieve Lenard mystery series and most of the stories take place in Strausbourg. I had no frame of reference until now. Wow! The Cathedral is one of the many locations. Fabulous!
OMG we’re in Strasbourg now. Did we miss you guys? Colleen the Champagne was at Place Broglie. We saw it last night, but we had skipped. Had champagne everyday while we were in Paris though! Trying to get around trying everything lol. On our way to see the teddy bears! 😊 Note: There is a security check point where they do check your bags upon entering the island.
Strasbourg is one of my favorite places to visit. The Christmas markets are amazing. It’s a little over a 1 hour ride from Basel SBB on a TER. I took my mom to the markets a few days after the terrorist attack in 2018. It was the safest place in Europe at the time. Cops were everywhere. I go to Strasbourg every time I visit Europe. Christmas is special.
Love this guys. We found you when planning our Paris trip and you helped soooo much! Thank you. We’re planning on making a Christmas market food vid this week (U.K.) so we’re learning once again. This is a great video and you’ve totally sold Strasbourg to us. What a beautiful place. The food all looks amazing! Cheers 🍻
That was really fabulous. Thank you so much because I'm going to be there in the weeks before Christmas. Again thank you so much ❤ oh yea, I forgot. That waffle had me giggling with tears coming down my face. I've decided I will be two nights in Strasbourg instead of just one.
Omg I love Strasbourg I have been there many times as my dad’s family are from there. I am from Miami too, I wish I could move to Europe too. Great Job
Many thanks......Stunning footage as always........ I would HATE to sit so close to next person when dining......it appears to be the same there and in France 😱
I watched a few of your videos on planning a trip to Paris, and just got back yesterday. I also went to Strasbourg, and was there Tues, Weds, and Thurs.. just a few days before you posted your video on Saturday! Maybe I passed right by you when filming and didn't even notice! Thanks for your videos!
Oh wow your best video yet. Love Strasbourg. Always read about it being THE Christnas Capital of the world. So magical is right! ❤thank you for taking us there!🎄🎆✨️🎁❄️☃️
Strasbourg is a beautiful city, and the different christmas markets are so numerous on every square there that they seem infinite! However, the Strasbourg Christmas markets are also very very crowded. I was a student there for 3 years, and when my parents came to visit me, we would go to the Maison Kammerzell restaurant (which serves delicious choucroute, including a succulent one with three types of fish instead of meats) or to the Le Dauphin restaurant, both on the place de la cathédrale. In both cases, it is very much advised to call and make a reservation beforehand.
I too was in Strasbourg for Christmas ! It was magical and can’t wait to return. I’m also from Florida ( Sarasota)! Just needed a bit of winter 🌞🤗 Salzburg was my favorite too.
Strasbourg is my French hometown. I have family there still. The Crémant d'Alsace is that region's sparkling wine. It can legally only be called champagne when created in the Champagne region. Thank you for this wonderful tour! I can smell the sausages and choucroute! I'm going to make some soon! I miss La Petite France! Mercí. Au Revoir! ❤❤
This is my favorite video of yours! Out of many good ones. The food looks spectacular. That pork hock & spicy soup look superb! And the sparkling white Alsatian wine. Makes me want to go there for Christmas! Not to mention the cozy boat ride & stunning church
My ancestor is from Strasbourg, arrived in Canada 1751. Maybe someday I will visit, as this is beautiful!
It's a truly beautiful city.
This tour was so magical that I didn’t want it to end. Thank you for sharing it with us!
So glad!

We stayed over the Christmas period a few years ago and this has revived our memories will just have to go back fabulous place.
It has been on our bucket list since we moved here. It did not disappoint. Every turn was a new and wonderful delight.
Speaking of charm, Colleen, you and Antoine are the epitome of charming!

2:04 Place Broglie had the best prices of all the vendors. I bought 12 ornaments and received a 30% discount.
The food is sensational. I am salivating while watching.

Oh and I watched the Bruges video; it made me want to revisit the Flanders region! (Ghent is a lovely city and also has canals with tour boats.)
It's tours like this that make me thankful that you are not vegans. Magnificent. I loved petite France architecture
Glad you enjoyed it!

Oh wow, ready to hop on a plane. Wish I could!
That blueberry pie looked amazing!
You have whetted my appetite to go on a Christmas market cruise!!
Oh wow your best video yet. Love Strasbourg. Always read about it being THE Christnas Capital of the world. So magical is right! ❤thank you for taking us there!🎄🎆✨️🎁❄️☃️
It's truly our pleasure ❤️
Was there last year, absolutely stunning and found everyone very friendly
Strasbourg is a beautiful city, and the different christmas markets are so numerous on every square there that they seem infinite! However, the Strasbourg Christmas markets are also very very crowded. I was a student there for 3 years, and when my parents came to visit me, we would go to the Maison Kammerzell restaurant (which serves delicious choucroute, including a succulent one with three types of fish instead of meats) or to the Le Dauphin restaurant, both on the place de la cathédrale. In both cases, it is very much advised to call and make a reservation beforehand.
New to this channel and I credit my wife for finding you. Really enjoyable and entertaining video. Thank you for your efforts.
This was such a cozy pleasure to watch :) Happy Holidays, Frenchies!
Thank you 😊
You guys scored again. So much fun and informative. Merci Merci Merci
Thank you!
Mercí. Au Revoir!

I was there from Canada last weekend! Very memorable! I did the same canal cruise last Sunday too!
This is my favorite video of yours! Out of many good ones. The food looks spectacular. That pork hock & spicy soup look superb! And the sparkling white Alsatian wine. Makes me want to go there for Christmas! Not to mention the cozy boat ride & stunning church
