Just beat the game for the first time, this is my playthrough of the Level 9 final boss + the Level ∞ boss.
NOTE: This video is edited for uninterrupted gameplay, it does not show my multiple deaths I endured during this. I probably died about 15+ times during these 3 levels.
Still managed to come out 3rd place overall for Level 9! (at the time of recording the video that is, I've already been knocked down a bit lol)
I KNEW THAT PRISM BEFORE EACH FINAL WORLD LEVEL BOSS WASNT JUST A REFLECTION OF THE ROAD
The true final boss made my feel dizzy and weirdly scared like nothing else... It was an incredible experience.
I find it ironic that the level Infinity is the shortest of all the levels...

It's the shortest if you do it on the first try, but keep failing each iteration and you'll be stuck for aw hile.
And yet, we keep playing...

ive read a theory about how the beetle is us, mortals, and the track is our reality, and the bosses are forces that mold out reality
mentioning this cause i wanna add: the way the infinity boss works makes me believe it is Time itself
Also considering how Time rules everything
Time is the final boss of the human experience: the one thing that could even theoretically scratch God.

The hardest bit is the upcome to infinity. You know where the walls speed up. At 3:04

I finished it today and wanted to see if someone did it better... I stopped counting after so many deaths but the insanity of the last levels is worth it. :D My favourite music game of last couple years.

@@PivotDeerPup Platinum is absolute torture. I would barely know, I stopped at world 5 getting S ranks, it got too difficult.
I don’t even wanna know all of the story behind this game, but what I can get at is that there’s this pencil-like thing drawing the road which you travel in. It seems like the thing your playing as is trying to escape its grasp, so it has to beat it to break free, and that could be why the game ends like this.

If there is any possible meaning behind any of this, I'd imagine the pyramid thing at the end is meant to represent God.

This entire game is the ironic purgatory of one of those musicians that committed suicide in their mid-20's. That's why it's scary, challenging, and mocking in the sense it trivializes their livelihood by turning it into a game
Alternatively, this is a game that's designed to convey the raw emotion of stage fright. Pure fear tied directly and strongly to a pressure to perform
You are a beetle. You're traversing an area you shouldn't be in. The game tries to kill you by sending horrifying apparitions and making obstacles meant to stop you, hence why every obstacle in this game is like crashing into it with sparks flying and things breaking. The final boss and stage is the game trying desperately to prevent you from beating it even warping time and breaking its own rules. The end was you finally break the game and it has no choice but to let you win

Must have felt awesome to play that well. I wasnt in the zone when I cleared this so it was sloppy. But the phrase by phrase check point system is great because it allows you to push on and experience such a fun game. This is game sticks in my head like REZ did.
Playing the boss in vr was the biggest mistake of my life
The ending is so unsettling.
I love how the non-beat at the end keeps ascending like it's going to go back into another variation of the previous song and then just dropping off into randomness. Terrifying, you've got insane skills

This game is a cathartic type of noise overload
This is INSANELY difficult to do and get an S ranking. I got the S rank for all levels achievement. The increasing tempo and the wavering tempo in those last levels played havoc with me.... OMG

You could probably argue there is a story: You're a bug trying to become free of your chains (the track) and willing to fight various entities to earn your freedom

Xbox One controller: using the d-pad, not the analogue stick.
PIVOTAL! oh well that's seems logic. I am at level 7 and I'll try with the d-pad tomorrow. I feel slow with the stick thing
yeah I switched to d-pad somewhere around level 8 and it made it a lot easier to hit things like mid-air perfect turns.

@@martymaclane4007 it should, that's how I did it. Finished the game yesterday. But you need to slam down like three times or else it repairs itself

oops, i forgot to update the title of the video! look at the upload date and the description. i got this score very soon after the game came out, this was on my very first playthrough. it was #3 at the time but it's waaaaay lower now. somewhere between 80 and 100 I think.
