- Think van life is just for millennials? Think again! More and more baby boomers, especially those living in high cost of living states like California, are looking for cheaper living options to make their retirement dollars stretch.
That was the case for David, a former Bay Area resident, who after the wildfires in Sonoma County created a housing shortage, chose to live in his van and split his time between his grown kids in Northern California, and his aging parents in Southern California. It's also enabled him to start his passion business: photography.

I don't know if I could do it myself, but I admire that he can!
Glad he was able to make something positive out of so much loss. In some ways, his life may be better now than it was before.
I have a friend from work who barely escaped the fire with his family at 2am. They lost everything, but at least they have their health and insurance can replace all of the material things.
At least David wasn't directly affected by the fires in that way, only that the housing supply was very low after the fires. I can't imagine how devastating it must be to lose everything in a fire. Was this a blogger? I heard one PF blogger out there did lose everything in that fire.
Tonya Stumphauzer, no he was a friend that works with me at the bank. They wanted to rebuild but there aren’t enough contractors and those that are available are raising their rates because demand is so high. Luckily, they found something for their family of 5 after looking for a few months. He said people were buying houses sight unseen because demand was so fierce.
That's nuts!
NO ONE SHOULD BE LIVING LIKE THAT SAY THAT PEOPLE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO LIVE OUT OF VEHICLES THAT SHOULD BE CHOICE NOT OBLIGATION
Why? What is it to you?
@@TonyaS in response to your inquiry that should not be an obligation everyone should be able to afford some type of housing living out of a vehicle should be Choice not obligation
@@ceb8253 did you watch the video? It IS his choice. He loves it!
