This is not exactly halwa..this is called Kalakand and is famous sweet from Alwar (another city in Rajasthan) Halwa usually is made from Wheat Flour, sugar and dry fruits, and is a common offering in religious ceremonies locally called as "Prasad".
No my dear friend for kalakand you have to break the milk with some acidic stuff while the milk is in right consistency and reduce it by boiling. In Bengal this stuff is called chachhi.

We call that sweet 'GAJAR PAK' or GAJAR HALWA. Quite famous in rajasthan. At our home we eat this sweet throughout whole winter and easy to make at home.

ohhh, this dish is very similar to biko in the philippines, did biko originate in india?, here we use sticky rice, coconut milk/cream (we dont really have cows here in the islands), palm sugar, and maybe some spices like anise and what nots. you can add peanuts if you want aswell and other nuts and fragrant spices. like the rest of southeast asia, we were heavily influenced by indian culture a millennia ago. Note: Biko is not necesarrily firm like a rice cake, people cook it differently, my familie's biko is similar to the gulab above, but a tad, like a miniscule bit watery or less frim rather. it depends on who cooks it, where they are from or who influenced them, and their preferences.

I’ve toured Rajasthan enough number of times to come to a conclusion that cities like Jaipur, Udaipur etc. have nothing in comparison to the food joints in smaller towns like Pali, Bar, etc. I’ve had the best Kachori, Ghewar, Gulab Halwa etc. in the smaller towns.

I live in this city and often buy this Sweet from the same shop. Though the business is extreamly good but owner will not improve the cleanliness and hygiene conditions. Yes I say it with guarantee that we all savour and eat these very workers sweat and body hair. Atleast after corona the hygeine standards should have been improved but owners are only worried about profits and hygeine is thrown out of the window. Food Safety Standard Association of India should seal shut this sweat factory immediately and impose huge penalty for flouting the set laws. I wonder what is the area head from Fssai is doing, taking his cut I guess. Disgusting is the least i could say.
Halwa was never a saudi thing .. main ingredient is sugar , saudi never had sugar cultivation. They would have given it a name by abolishing hindustani name. But it was always a subcontinent thing.

Halwa was never a saudi thing .. main ingredient is sugar , saudi never had sugar cultivation. They would have given it a name by abolishing hindustani name. But it was always a subcontinent thing.
Nah, the name was bought from Persia by the Mughals. But I would be surprised if we didn’t have similar sweets in India before they were named Halva.

It's not aluminium , it's silver used for decoration and can be eaten too.
Gold /Silver metal foils will be used mostly... Aluminum foils are not used for food items as far as I know.
