@@rimaq_ They could sell in the US if they wanted to. Other Chinese brands like Oneplus are there. It's probably a commercial decision by Xiaomi not to sell there. It would be difficult for them to compete in the US where the likes of Apple are a lot cheaper than in Europe or Asian markets. Good to have more choices but I don't think it's valid to say they are better than Apple and Samsung. They don't even design over 70% of their own phones. Design and manufacture are outsourced to ODMs for the majority of their phones. Basically Xiaomi just slaps the logo on the majority of their phones and leaves the design to others. For their flagship series they do design them themselves though

I appreciate the Chaaaina disclaimer, Floss. It's definitely one of the things thats kept me from getting a xiaomi phone, but its great to see what they have to offer.
I have it, 12t pro, and after a month I can tell it's really a beast. Everything runs soooo smooth, no complain at all. It's plastic rear, no wireless charging etc., but ram, processor, display etc its great. Totally recommended if you can afford it, and trust me it's better for 700 euros then iphone for almost double money.

And Chinese phones, as long as you don't get the Huawei phones, most are pretty good. I can't say how envyess I felt seeing my fiance unboxing his oneplus 10t with the big brick charger in the box plus a micro c adapter in the box and the free wireless buds as a gift meanwhile my Z flip 4 first thing I saw was phone and just came with a cord. Plus his phone completely charging under 30 minutes while it takes the Z flip over an hour.
Samsung and Apple charge us Royal prices... and treat us like Peasants!!! I bought the Motorola Moto 2022 Unlocked Chinese Version from Giztop in China (They shipped to the U.S.) and in 6 days after purchase, I had the phone in hand. It was in a very nice designer box that fliped open like the phone... inside was a fast charging brick, USB Type C cord, Sim injector tool, and a phone case for the Moto flip. And yes, it works on AT&T and other major carriers in the US.

I did get a silicone case for pre-ordering my z flip 4 though I wish it included the charger in the box and the fast one at that. Was looking for a cheap second phone. Grabbed this from amazon for $620 I actually like it more than my Pixel 7 Pro, and i've had the 3, 4, 6pro, and 7pro...but i like it more. im shocked. Great phone! Not the best camera. not the worst either. theyre pretty good overall! no tele zoom is mised but at this price, cant beat.

Flossy, I wish to share that the most important thing in choosing a 5G phone is to make sure that the phone has the same frequency bands as the phone carrier. For example, T-Mobile has a 5G frequency bands of n41 and n71. To maximize T-Mobile service, a 5G phone must have these frequency bands. This issue becomes very important because no cell phone carriers carry Xiaomi phones. Therefore, the first thing to check is not which phone is better but whether the phone has the frequency bands that one's carrier has. The Xiaomi 12T pro might be better, but I can tell you that it hits only 1 of the 2 frequency bands for T-Mobile. To the extent that a cell phone carrier sells a phone one is looking at, you don't have to worry about the frequency bands - although you might have to check whether it's the Chinese, the global or US version.
This is why I'm always hesitant to buy these beautiful phones....I had to give up my Huawei mate 20x on ATT because they killed off their 3g network, and even though the phone had 4g bands, att recognized the phone as a 3g device and kept cutting it off. 😭

Flossy, I wish to share that the most important thing in choosing a 5G phone is to make sure that the phone has the same frequency bands as the phone carrier. For example, T-Mobile has a 5G frequency bands of n41 and n71. To maximize T-Mobile service, a 5G phone must have these frequency bands. This issue becomes very important because no cell phone carriers carry Xiaomi phones. Therefore, the first thing to check is not which phone is better but whether the phone has the frequency bands that one's carrier has. The Xiaomi 12T pro might be better, but I can tell you that it hits only 1 of the 2 frequency bands for T-Mobile. To the extent that a cell phone carrier sells a phone one is looking at, you don't have to worry about the frequency bands - although you might have to check whether it's the Chinese, the global or US version.
To add on it this, Tmobile will not have rural coverage without n71
This is why I'm always hesitant to buy these beautiful phones....I had to give up my Huawei mate 20x on ATT because they killed off their 3g network, and even though the phone had 4g bands, att recognized the phone as a 3g device and kept cutting it off. 😭
