As well there are many christian sites were converted into mosques.
@@dogbert52Lmao.
we had a diaspora all over the world, lots of bethlehem christians r all over north and south america
I had the opportunity to hear that a few decades ago the population in Ramallah was about 80% Christians, and now it is less than ten.
I think these numbers are very wrong as Ramallah hasn't I think ever had such a great Christian percentage, though it was founded by Christians and is still regarded as mainly a Christian city, with the majority Muslim population still voting for the Christian mayor!
However here are some facts about Palestinian Christians.
"About 6% of the Palestinian population worldwide is Christian and 56% of them live outside of the region of Palestine."
"As of 2015, Palestinian Christians comprise approximately 1-2.5% of the population of the West Bank, and less than 1% in the Gaza Strip. According to official British Mandatory estimates, Palestine's Christian population in 1922 constituted 9.5% of the total Mandatory Palestine population (10.8% of the Palestinian Arab population), and 7.9% in 1946. A large number of Arab Christians fled or were expelled from the Jewish-controlled areas of Mandatory Palestine during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, and a small number left during the period (1948-1967) of Jordanian control of the West Bank for economic reasons."
"From 1967, during the Israeli military rule, the Palestinian Christian population has increased while as a percentage of the population continued to decrease.
There are also many Palestinian Christians who are descendants of Palestinian refugees from the post-1948 era who fled to Christian-majority countries and formed large diaspora Christian communities."
"Palestinian Christians live primarily in Arab states surrounding historic Palestine and in the diaspora, particularly in Europe and the Americas."
@@josefabuaisheh6262 I must admit that I have heard these things from someone who is very hostile to Islam. This man claims that without the Jews, Muslims would have slaughtered Christians.
As such, I should point out, he is not a reliable, objective source, but, any way, i it is a battle of versions between the two of you.
@@igalyahav4674 Benjaminite Mitzpah was a Catholic city. The entire Holy Land of Israel was a Catholic region of Christendom. Modern Mitzpah was founded by Ghassanid Catholics. The lands of Israel and 'Paläestine' were +/- 99.3% Catholic (or claiming to be Catholics or Christian Catholics) from 392 AD until the MuhammadanInvasion in 637. We Catholics fully re-conquered our Holy Land of Israel again during the Most Holy Crusades in 1099 and we held Jerusalem until 1187 and the Land of Israel was once again almost 100% (over 99%) Catholic when the Holy Crusaders controlled our Holy Land of Israel, which is Christendom and belongs to the Church. All Glory be to Christ because we shall have our city once more after the end of the world if we enter Heaven to be with Him. May I merit being with my Wonderful Saviour, Jesus Christ for evermore, Amen.
@@stlouisix3 You may be right, but that’s not the topic of the discussion. The discussion is to what extent Muslims and Jews endanger Christianity. Some Jews claim that Christians are under real danger from Islam, and as proof of this they cite the decrease in the number of Christians in the Middle East except for Israel (the only country in the Middle East where the number of Christians is actually increasing). They claim that George Habas and Azmi Bashara are innocent Christians who do not understand where the danger is coming from. As a positive example, they cite Gabriel Nadaf, the priest from Nazareth, who calls on young Christians to enlist in the IDF. Please address this matter.
You could say "I had the opportunity to hear that a few decades ago the population in [X Israeli settlement/city] was majority Arab (whether Muslim or Christian)" and you'd be correct in most cases.
Thanks!
So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring.’ Being then God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man. The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.” Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked. But others said, “We will hear you again about this.” So Paul went out from their midst. But some men joined him and believed, among whom also were Dionysius the Areopagite and a woman named Damaris and others with them.

Don’t bother with those people. Total cucks.
If they knew what Palestinian Christians are (Catholic, Eastern and Oriental Orthodox) they'd probably be disappointed. I'm assuming they'd care about the sites, but resort to using slurs against the Orthodox or Catholics with the same accusations since the reformation happened.

I love all the people in the comments claiming these answers were given under duress or that they appear "nervous" 😂 yall really want to believe so bad that Palestinian Muslims are oppressing Palestinian Christians when they are literally one people. Sorry to break it to the Zionists, but it was the same with Palestinian Jews before Israel was founded. My (Muslim) grandfather's best friend was Jewish. He gifted him a Quran. Muslims, Jews, and Christians would grow up together, babysit each other's kids, live side by side. And it stayed that way with the Christians and Muslims. They protect and love each other. Your claim does not make any sense. You think Palestinian Muslims don't opress Palestinian Christians because they are both Palestinian. By that logic. The Nigerian Muslims would never have slaughtered the Nigerian Christians last Christmas. US must stop giving Israel $5 billion/year. We need the money for our own people, American citizens.
The aid that the United States brings to Israel today is only credit for the purchase of military equipment, this means that Israel is completely militarily dependent on the United States and does not develop things on its own, the United States benefits from this itself and actually invests in Israel and turns it into its personal weapons laboratory that saves it billions of dollars on research. Being Jewish means attaining the sensation of two contrasting forces in nature, the egoistic force, which is our human nature, and its opposite altruistic force, which is the force of nature itself.
The attainment of these two forces define the people who, first under Abraham, developed this sensation of reality. They became known as the people of Israel, and later, as the Jews.
At a certain point, around 2.000 years ago, we lost the sensation of the two forces and lived solely in the egoistic force. That is the meaning of being in exile.
Exile has no geographic connotations, i.e. that we left some geographic Land of Israel and now we return to it. It is rather a matter of an inner exile, that we do not host the sensation of the altruistic nature, i.e. the quality of love, bestowal and connection, between us. When we fell from this sensation, we then entered our period of exile and ceased to exist as the people of Israel.

@@leylamohamed7950 The gold domed mosque isn't Al Aqsa. Do you even know that much? And here's some more fun facts about Jerusalem and the Temple Mount:
1. Never in the history of the world was Jerusalem ever a capital city of any Arab country, certainly not the imaginary nation of "Palestine".
2. “Jerusalem” is never mentioned in the Quran, but over 600 times in the Tanakh.
3. Muslims face Mecca to pray, while Jews face Jerusalem to pray.
4. MohamMad was not alive when the mosque was built, (He's a time traveler apparently).
5. The gold domed mosque is not Al-Aqsa (as mentioned), the black domed mosque to the south facing Mecca is.
6. The gold domed mosque is a monument, that was placed there specifically because it was the location of the destroyed Jewish temple.
7. The mosque located on the Temple Mount was originally called Bayt al-Muqaddas (in Arabic) which literally means built on the Mikdash (the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem).
8. The night journey of Muhammad is not mentioned on any of the inscriptions on the gold domed mosque (however the inscriptions do include anti-Christian slogans).
9. Even the Wakf acknowledged the Jewish history and temple in their official 1925 Supreme Muslim Council (Wakf) Guide Book to the Temple Mount. (page 4/paragraph 2 and page 16/paragraph 2). The same description is in the 1950 official Wakf version as well. So iow, even after Israel's establishment they remained true to the facts of history. In recent years they have "altered" their "story" to deny the historic existence of the temple, but it has not always been that way. To that end, subsequent versions of that booklet, have removed those references for political reasons. (They are trying hard to re-write history, to wipe out any Jewish connection to the land ... but you can't change current reality or history.)
10. *Jerusalem is, and will continue to be, the undivided capital of ISRAEL* (always bears repeating for those in denial about *REALITY* ).

They were Arabized of course
لازم نركب الجمل عشان تقنع انّا عرب
Correct. Arabs are not indigenous, they invaded the region from Arabia. Indigenous Christians are jewish/Aramean, also some are descendants of European crusaders who ruled for 88years. Just because someone speaks Arabic doesn't make them Arab, look at Egypt and Lebanon etc DNA testing proves only 40% of Lebanese are Arab.
I am sure they have various non-Arab DNA that mixed with their Arab DNA for various reasons. In Israel there are ginger Arab clan(s), I don't know the genetics or reasons for it - the British occupation? Regressive genes from the crusaders? White Irish slaves that were captured by the Berbers or Ottomans and their genes mixed through the peoples of this area?
I have lived in Israel for 16 years and I can't tell the difference between Jews and Arabs when secularly dressed - my Israeli-born wife though finds it fairly simple, as do probably many lifelong Jewish Israelis.

What you believe at doesn't matter, the fact that you have no idea what's happening here proves your ignorance.
Israelis value life and want to protect themselves. It's easy to be a saint in paradise, but much harder to be a saint when your neighbors want to send you into exhile or dead. If you are hit by Hamas rockets, it gives you a different perspective.
They are defending their land. Stop watching al Jazeera
5:53 It's more ideological answers than based in any instances, fact, or personal experience. She has a right to express herself in that way of course, but it in no way answers the questions, nor when the Church of the Nativity was briefly closed, was it explained why. Her experiences and feelings are as a Palestinian and that narrative, rather than actual events. The rest seem pretty straightforward, take from them what you will.
Some of the complaints are about freedom of movement and going to Jerusalem, which whilst sad is also done for security reasons. There are flashpoint periods of the year, like Ramadan for Muslims, watch next year, it will ignite again, it's an annual thing now but it's mainly useful PR. As for Christians, there will be mitigating circumstances given but considering that there are West Bank Palestinians who get permits to work in Israel, who then (rarely) commit acts of terror, there will be a tightening up of this type of thing post incident.
Denial of freedoms and rights of movement is not because of "security", but because Israel's intention to annex Jerusalem and territores in the West Bank.
Palestinians are denied access to Jerusalem not because of generic "security" but because Israel occupies and annexed East Jerusalem.
@@Gabriel-dy6pm Jerusalem was the Jewish capital b4 Islam existed. It's impossible to "occupy" a nation that has never existed, even if you wanted to. And they weren't denied access until they decided to start an intifada. (For which they deserve FAR worse than anything Israel has ever done).
@@Gabriel-dy6pm You're entitled to your interpretation, but it's funny how the terrorist attacks started, which then saw the creation of checkpoints.
How would stopping Palestinians movement lead to the annexation of territory? There is no clear connection between the two. Limiting movement due to 'security' makes a decent amount of sense, because you stop potential terrorists from accessing the place they would like to blow up. However, limiting Palestinian movement doesn't seem to connect to annexing land as easily, especially Jerusalem.
Around 400,000 Arabs, Christian and Muslim (around 40%) live in Israel's capital, Jerusalem. Please explain how limiting access to it to West Bank Arabs, from time-to-time, will lead to annexation? With the current, democratically-elected government, annexation has never been higher for 'Palestinian land' including so-called 'Arab East Jerusalem' but it's still hard to connect the assertion you make.
@@adambaker8689 it is the other way around: it is the occupation and annexation - de jure or de facto - of territories what leads to the necessity of limiting the right of movement of the occupied population, and annexation is what causes the potential security issues related to Palestinian movement, to become actual and *internal* security issues of the Israeli Jewish population.
If you annex Jerusalem and take it away from Palestinians, who are an occupiec population, the consequence will be that you will have to block the freedom of movement of Palestinians in order to protect security in Jerusalem.
The annexation, either formal or informal and creeping, is the cause that leads to insecurity related to the movement of Palestinians, because it places Israeli civilians within the Occupied territories among the military occupied enemy population, and this leads to the setting up of blockades and permanent checkpoints - which oppress the population and necessarily cause a spiral of resistence, rebellion and violence.
The function of checkpioints is to protect settlements and the settlement endeavour, and to protect the annexation and the Jewish control of East Jerusalem.
There would be no violation of the freedom of movement of Palestinians between Bethlehem and Jerusalem if thee were no Israeli annexation of Jerusalem and no Israeli settlements, becayse there would be no checkpoinits, and anyway there would be no occupied or annexed territory where Israeli civilians would live, among security issues .
@@adambaker8689 sir i can appreciate you thinking logically about this but in my uneducated and non-scholarly opinon i would say the main reason for why there is this all this hostility in Israel is a matter of the heart meaning the only way for any of us to truly show love to one another and be at peace with one another is if we all get a change of heart and this change of heart can only happen by faith in Jesus THE MESSIAH/ CHRIST; that HE IS GOD, died to pay for all of our sins, and rose from the dead 3 days later. it is only through this faith in Jesus that transforms hearts and to truly "love thy neighbor". in my totally novice opinon i do believe that this (faith) is the only real way for their to be peace in Israel between Jew and Arab

Surprisingly they didn't say any of that
Having a permit isn't the same as having the key to a house. It's like a ticket to a pop concert. If you go to a pop concert but look very suspicious, drunk, high, aggressive etc, then they can refuse entry. 1,000's of Palestinians enter Israel daily. The queues are long, and checkpoints are there due to deadly previous incidents of terrorism, and so the border police need to make snap decisions - yes or no.
There was a point that there were no checkpoints with Gaza or the West Bank, this all changed into the late '80's and '90's after the first Intifada. This guy looks calm, and genuine and honest but so have other Palestinians with work VISAs and permits who then went on to murder civilians and security forces, where they looked just as trustworthy and peaceful a person, as the man at 12:30.
It's shit that he's stopped from worshipping, it's worse when terrorists kill civilians. The border police need to go on reports of terrorist activity and chatter and gut feelings more than almost anywhere else in the world. Also, Israel, since 1967, when Jordan (not the Palestinians) lost the eastern part of Jerusalem in that brief war, and it can choose who it wants to let into its borders. No person, citizen of any country in the world, has a divine right to visit any other. I live in Israel, so if say I had a sick father in Iran, who like all the Jews left in Iran is not allowed to leave the country ever, they, the Iranian regime, will not allow me to enter as an Israeli citizen - as is for a number of countries across the world. And just to show I'm not comparing Israel to Iran as a low bar, all Western countries too regularly bar the entry of persona non grata into their countries for a variety of reasons that have zero to do with (valid) security concerns.
Exceot East Jerusalem is recognized as Palestinian land so there should be no permit process in the first place. Also there is no permit process for Jews or European tourists it only applies to Palastinians.
@@Rabolisk None of it has ever been "Palestinian land" and it still isn't. It applies to those who insist on trying to destroy Israel. Go figure.
