I think about this for every character I write. I question my ability to capture the nuances, whether it is race, gender, sexuality, personality, age, marital status, etc. My own experiences are so limited to my own perspective, I continually question if a character rings true. I try to outline a characters' background, physicality, and motivations prior to writing, which helps, but I still question. It also helps to get someone else to read your story and get their honest feedback.
