    How would I figure out a problem where I have 12 classes taught by 4 teachers: who to give the 13th class to with data from 3 categories?

    • @DrNic
      @DrNic  2 года назад

      I'm sorry I'm not sure I understand your question. With 12 classes if you need a dummy variable for each one, you need 11 dummy variables and the 12th one is when all the others are zero.

    Thanks Dr. Nic. Question: is there a particular order of assigning dummy variables to ordinal data e.g. do I start assigning 1 and 2 or 0 and 1? do we start from zero going forward or from 1. can i assign from any number going forward?

      Each dummy variable is assigned 0 or 1 according to whether the observation belongs to that group

    Hello Dr Nic , Can I Ask You Which Programs You Prefer For Me To Use If I Don't Want To Use (Excel)

    • @DrNic
      @DrNic  3 года назад +1

      If you are a serious stats person you should possibly use R. I tend to use SPSS except I can't afford it so I use JASP which is free. For exploratory work, iNZight Lite is good. I used to teach with Minitab, which is a very nice teaching program. This blog post is still pretty relevant. creativemaths.net/blog/excel-spss-minitab-or-r/
      And a suggestion - don't write in Title Case - it looks weird and makes it difficult to read.

      Try the "Join" button on the channel page. If that doesn't work you may need to contact RUclips - they are pretty good at answering.
