Great video Amanda, I like to use the small stuff sacks or dry bags for my clothings as well as packing cubes. Tip if you take different colours of bags with a different texture you can identify quickly what you are grabbing. I always have my headlamp in a bag with a little fleece on the outside, easy to find in your pack you can feel for it 😊

A headlamp is also a great essential when hiking that can really come in handy!

    Great vid! 😁
GRAYL’s are literally the best thing ever. We’ve used ours so much since investing in them. They aren’t just for camping/backpacking and international travel. From road-trips to work or fun travel, they completely eliminate the need to buy water. We don’t travel without one. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

I like to urban travel as well as camp and hike, and my must have item is a couple of microfiber cloths. They’re great for drying off hands, spills, downpours and waterfalls, and for wiping down dirty surfaces.

Love my fanny pack while hiking and backpacking! Keeps smaller things (like my phone, lighter, and snacks) accessible. Also is great to wear around camp, after taking the pack off, to keep those essentials close at hand too!

Thank you! My husband and I are travel campervan(campers) and hikers. We have our regular camping gear but we started to branch out farther from our home and have started to collect hybrid gear that’s easy to travel with but also can use locally as we fly to our destinations. Tried it in California and got hooked but it’s kind of limits gear because you’re going to have to stow and carry your essentials. It’s so hard to find good resources for this kind of exploring but you’ve had me hooked for a while and this one is so helpful. Thank you for your time and effort in what you do.

I have a Gregory kids pack (35 liter) very comfortable absolutely love it. I’ve had the Grayl ultra light for some time now. I use the Gaia app for trail riding. Thankfully I’ve not had to use it to backtrack our way out of the mtn… Yet.

I’m planning another 3 night 4 day hike in Tasmania, Australia. Merino wool is a must have for hiking and my dry set at night. This trip I bought some down booties for at night and around the huts. It will be very cold so I’ll leave my Tevas at home this time and take these booties instead. Will be a nice comfort item

Right now we're using the Sony Alpha 7 IV Camera with the Sennheiser MKE 600 Mic. I want to have Nick on my channel soon to do a full rundown of all our gear and how he films and keeps everything charged while hiking! He has a lot of tips!

How do you launder/clean your wool items? Surely not dry clean… They may not stink but they do get soiled. Thanks

I just wash them in cold water, handwash or at home in the washing machine on a wool program. I will wear them a few days without a wash in between though.

Do you know of any alternatives for Merino wool? I am allergic to wool and can't have it against my skin.

Yes, Joe Rogan made them fashionable 7 years ago, and people are still catching up.

You have turned into a paid advertisement. Can’t trust what you recommend anymore. Just like most others on this platform. So sad.

To this day I've never taken a sponsored video or been paid by a brand to push their products. Everything I recommend in this video is gear that I’ve bought, used, loved, and thought my audience would find helpful.
