It's a subtle detail but I like the duality in the way she leaves the shack both times. As a teenager, she was put into the car to take her, a scared girl, by an unfeeling (we never see the guy's face) man. When she leaves the second time she's still driven by a man, but he's fawning over her and she's fully in charge of her life.
Reba, from my home state of Oklahoma here in the U.S., will be a judge on the new season of The Voice this fall in America. BTW, wanted to say congrats to the Australian women's soccer team!
Eeee thank you! I work for a radio station out here and we have been absolutely overjoyed, it’s also being held in my home city! I’m grinning now! from Brisbane to Oklahoma I send my best!
I've watched a couple of reactions to this song and don't mind saying It's fascinating watching the reactors tone go from happy and curious to downright somber. This song shows the darker side of country, one that has existed for a long time, and Reba's definitely got some 'gangsta' aspect to her. Enjoyed your reaction.
I saw her in the 90s. She changed outfits almost every song. Reba has a great voice. "The Greatest Man I Never Knew" tells the painful story of a father working all of the time and the desire of a daughter for his attention...until it was too late. That would be my favorite of hers.
Another good country storyteller is Martina McBride. Her songs Concrete Angel, Independence Day, God's Will, and Broken Wing all go hard. The videos are a must for them and you may want tissues just in case.
Reba is a multi award winning singer and yes she will be in the country Hall of Fame she is amazing and doesn't look any older than she did 30years ago. And yes you look amazing as always 🥰👍
I from Canada. It is July 8th 2024 I just discovered you. It's awesome that you put that out there and you should look up. A singer Bobby Gentry she is American. She was on top of the pops with these songs. The only one who could do these songs that Bobby Gentry wrote and saying was Reba McIntyre. But check out Bobby Gentry's otability, Joe.And fancy because she does it in person live on an award show
One video of Rebas was turned into a movie, Is there Life out There, which starred an 80s rock star Huey Lewis, but the movie was recast. I suggest for female country singers, Tanya Tucker's song Delta Dawn, and then you could do Home Frees version.
You can’t go wrong with any Reba song, she has an extensive catalog and a lot of her music videos are like mini movies. One of my favorite Reba songs is “You Lie”
Absolutely. Reba is a true storyteller in her music. You can’t go wrong with her songs or her videos. Reba was one of the first country stars to embrace music videos (early on it was mostly rock and new wave). A few truly are “mini-movies” that have dialogue before, during and/or after the song - like “Fancy” does. (This looks like a real movie, but it’s not. Just a well-thought out video to go with the song.) I REALLY hope you check out more of Reba’s songs/videos! As I mentioned, she has great music videos but you can also find great live performances by Reba, too.
Helen Reddy recorded this in the 60s or 70s. It was the first version of Bobby Gentry's song I ever heard, very well performed by Helen. Then along comes Reba who takes it to a whole new level. This video moves me to tears every time!
Please react to Keith Whitley was a great Country music singer . Don't Close Your Eyes , When You Say Nothing At All , and Miami My Amy . He married Lorrie Morgan in 1986 until his death in 1989 from alcoholism .
New subscriber from small town Texas. Most older country music videos and some newer ones augment the song very well. You should check out her video for The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia.
I'm sorry but I watch a lot of reaction videos and I am amazed at how everyone can somehow stop at when the song is reaching a definite moment in a song. No offense
This is something you might want to check out, but not put on your channel because it's instrumental. A popular country artist and guitarist is Keith Urban, who is from Australia and is married to Nicole Kidman. When he was in Australia, he had a group called The Ranch. Their song "Clutterbilly" is an instrumental emphasizing his guitar playing, and maybe something fans of his vocal hits might not know about. There is also a clip of him on an Australian TV show in 1983, when he was 16 (it doesn't look like the judges knew the original song.)
I'm sorry. I love Reba too. The song sounds great. I just hate the fact that for fancy got turned into a prostitute as a child to so she could survive.
I don't think she was actually listening to the words... Its just "typical" reactions... i.e. A person that likes to hear her own self talk.... I'm certian she never even heard the "...plain white trash..." line. Gotta talk over EVERYTHING.

Thank you! More suggestions always welcome!
I can’t make it through Concrete Angel without crying, love that song
Another good one from Reba that has a full story in the music video is The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia
the writer and first performer of this song was Bobbie Gentry....she was amazing
You might want to hear Reba singing Acapella "Sweet Dreams"❤
Reba is a multi award winning singer and yes she will be in the country Hall of Fame she is amazing and doesn't look any older than she did 30years ago. And yes you look amazing as always 🥰👍
Look up Reba singing Fancy live at the 1993 Music City News Country Awards! I’d love to hear your reaction of her singing it live!
I'm loving your reactions and comments ❤

Hello❣️ From Sandy, Utah USA
You'll love her in Tremors
This wasn’t Reba’s song. It was written, sung and produced by Bobbie Gentry in 1967. The same artist that wrote and sung Ode to Billy Joe.
If you enjoy a good story telling song/video, may I suggest Chris Stapleton - Fire Away.
New subscriber from small town Texas. Most older country music videos and some newer ones augment the song very well. You should check out her video for The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia.
Thank you! I will! I want to get as much older country in as I can! Educate me!
My love from Queensland to Texas!
Reba has a tendency to have her videos be, as Vince Gill once called them "epics".... she loves the long storeyline videos.
Luv ya. Bobbi Gentry sang this song in 1967, I think. Review Bobbi Gentry if you havent already. You'll be glad you did.
Bobbi wrote it.

I'm sorry but I watch a lot of reaction videos and I am amazed at how everyone can somehow stop at when the song is reaching a definite moment in a song. No offense

She sent her out to be a prostitute and your grinning...WOW
