Thank you so much for this video! I am planning a trip to Caye Caulker and wanted to show my partner videos of the island. This is the best one on RUclips. The footage is GORGEOUS! Plus, Empire of the Sun and M83 are my favorite bands!
The last time that I was on Caye Caulker was in 2004, the changes are jaw-dropping. There was next to nothing on the north side of the split. The split itself, had only part of a broken down seawall, and a small foot/drink service. And at that time, on the lea side of the island, no one was using the water, except fisherman, no swimming, boating anything. And the Iguana Reef hotel, also on the lea side, was the tallest building on the island...now I cannot even find it because of all the taller buildings. Thanks for that video, but damn! All that in less than 20 years.
The first time I went to Caye Caulker was in '93 (and to Ambergris), went back over the years until last time was in 2004. The changes have been enormous, from a laid back paradise to a dump...and this was twenty years ago. I would'nt go go back now if you pay me.
Through the reef, the Belizean sea is not very deep, in the future a part of the sea that surrounds Belize City will be dredged, and an artificial bay will be made and thus large ships such as cruise ships will anchor at a dock in front of Belize City.

Wrong ! They already have their own dock way north of San Pedro so you pay extra as for transportation
