I agree with you. Just hope what we say is taken on board and these really important basic features are actioned. They have done a fantastic job until now and no one denies that also with the war on its so amazing how they have come this far. Really do appreciate the software as a whole. 😊✅👍🏻
Did you do the video on color matching the subject with the background? I can’t find it. If you made the video will you leave me a link to it? I am really enjoying your videos. I bought one of your bundles but I haven’t tried any yet. I’m not confident enough yet.
Hello Norma... yes I have done the video with the color matching and you can see it here: ruclips.net/video/k4buW_O9Ki0/видео.html Thank you very much for supporting our channel. I hope you going to use it soon.
I still get visually stumped by the transition versus subject versus background but when you said it is not a mask that helped me comprehend it better - I keep thinking the entire subject HAS to be orange. The background is obvious to me and it looks like the transition is to be drawn partially onto the subject...I guess all I can do is practice. Having said that, as I've been using this tool in the year since you aired this tutorial, I have done Portrait Background Removal and then added a layer with a new background, then drag the person on top of the layer but it never shows up. I've been wondering if I"m doing something wrong - is there anything specific that would cause this? But as of just trying it now, it worked fine, so maybe there was a glitch in my software this whole time (just did update 1.14.0).
good explanation, especially for the more complex photo with an outdoors background. you use (succesfully as i see) the transition zone in the refinement brush. is there a detailed definition (by skylum/luminar maybe) how the transition zone is exactly interpreted when layering? semi-transparent? (i was looking online but didn't find it). lastly: do you use a mouse or a tablet to refine?
Hi Tomas, thank you for your lovely comments. I am glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, it is a little trial & error process, but it does speed up the process. I am afraid that there isn't official documentation for this tool.
ahoj. over the years skylum/luminar got better at being more precise, but they are still a mystery to me sometimes. this tool (background removal) is marvelous, i am changing my approach to a portrait project at burning man because of how well luminar neo's background removal is...
Hi Thanks for this enlightening tutorial. I bought your catalogue bundle about three weeks ago prior to the latest Neo upgrade. How do I get these new additional backgrounds and other new items you are now advertising in my own bundle. please respond
This background removal feature has got to be a joke! Reminds me of Topaz Mask AI. Skylum needs to do a lot more work on this one. This is way to time consuming and the results (especially when dealing with most hair) are very lacking.
Hi, you are correct to say that it needs some improvements, but then again, their Sky Replacement tool wasn't perfect to start with, and now it's one of the best tools out there. So let's hope it's going to be improved soon.
Agreed that they have done a good job, but you cannot go backwards or undo any error that you have made with the background tool. That is so disappointing. Lots of fringing as well on the subject that is really difficult to correct on a dark backgrounds. Still need to go back to Photoshop to do all the hard work. 👎🏻🙁

Thanks for another great video, really useful for someone like me, not very tech savvy. 👍👍
You are welcome Phil... we are here if you need anything.
Photoshop was released 1990. Luminar Neo was released Feb 2022. Neo has 32 years to improve. I am not complaining.
That is very fair comment Oscar 👏
ha ha ha. You cant even add text. Its still moving in the right direction.
I feel that Luminar is more of a automated version of the most used actions in Photoshop. Not a replacement but a quick way to edit photos.

@@NR.2023 I'm suspicius of th so called war. There is more to it than meets the eye .
Thank you for this tutorial as always very informative. Still waiting on the Clone and Stamp tool.
I totaly agree Tony... Clone & Stamp as well as simple Undo / Redo 😉
Wouaouh!!! merci
Thank you Jean-Raymond 🙏
Do you make adjustments to the subject before or after background removal?
Good question Nigel. You can do both, but I would prefer to do it after the removal as I would like to match it with its new background 👍
