- You've seen Josh Mason back in the day on Garage Garage and some other shows, but just in case you haven't: he builds, he drifts, he parties. Running his own fab shop and his own drift team, Josh needs what every real drifter needs: a party car. A car you can take out and have fun with, without destroying your own competition parts. But for his party car, he chose something very non-traditional: a '68 Chevy Camaro. See what it takes to turn one of these things into a full on drift car.

70 Chevelle with a Magnuson supercharged LS, and a 4 speed manual
1987 El Camino with an LS7.
68 Shelby GT 500 with a LSA
It's not a 60/70s classic but I want to build a square body non GS Buick Regal. Drop a simple ls1 H/C/I setup with a t56 and get it sideways.
Donuts under the trailer like that have never been done and to do it in a 68’ Camaro is gangster! And that slow crawl burnie at the end...NASTY!

FYI:
Zac’s tip on wearing team merch to get into pits/media tent works like 4 out of 10 times at circuit events. So combine with a “media” pass to improve odds

there really isn't anything like it. I hear it going to work every day and wouldn't change my truck for anything. the throttle response of a good carb setup can be quite an amazing to experience aswell

Was sad to hear the hp and small stroke for a dart block you just paid 2 grand for a block and only 383 ci hurts me a little
Yes should have 427 or 434 ci since Dart block but that 500 hp it’s making is reliable all day long
You dont know how good it does my heart to hear ol' grandpa's 383 gettin' out there and showin the LS family that he's still got some lessons to teach. Hells yeah!

A 1970's split bumper Camaro with a chevy 454 big block, a 1968 fastback mustang with a 428 super cobra jet engine, or a Dodge Charger Daytona with a 429 big block. These are the dream cars for me they have huge big blocks in some of the most legendary cars of these respective car manufacturers. Wouldn't allow a reply so that's fun

DarthBane22 he would have been better off with Ls because clearly he understands nothing about sbc he completely wastes a dart block with only a 383 . Could have build a basic 383 for 2 grand and has the same exact hp

It's been some time since we last saw Josh, but it was worth it! Love this build! Sick lines! I'm glad he's coming back, and building a drift 3rd gen, it's like early Christmas!
I love these 70s muscle car drifters like Tonys HEMI powerd fish tail barracuda I wish people made more but I guess there getting very thin on the ground and even more expensive. Mad respect for anyone drifting a 70s street machine
Joshua Slater the biggest issue is angle and price. You’d have to make custom suspension to get enough angle if you wanted to be serious about competition, hence why mason has a separate comp car. And obviously a 1st gen camaro or a cuda are way more expensive than something like a z

Holy shit, imma say that guy was one of, if not THE SINGLE most skilled person ever to be on this show. With a car with little angle as that and to know it so thoroughly and control it to the same extent. Nuts to think what this beast could do in something like a falken FD car

I remember meeting Josh at Grange a few years ago. It was a little drift event and he rolled up with this and everyone was wondering what he was doing there and then proceeded to throw down! Super cool dude and super cool car.
