for some reason back in the early nineties, the first episodes of neighbours had the end credits translated. i think the intro was as well, but haven't found any more examples.
I'm not sure if the Icelandic version of Neighbours is being completely dubbed since soaps being dubbed into different language is very rare and it might be hard to take for all the episodes that was being produced weekly rather than one day for most shows, which i'm very aware that the German dub of Neighbours, known as "Nachbarn" is dubbed, but with a few differences.
the episodes themselves were not dubbed. and except for the earliest episodes neither was the intro and outtro. the fact that they did this at all is perplexing.
I think this is either Episode 1623 or 1624 of Neighbours from the early 1992 season so not long before this style of credits was replaced. Does anyone know did they dub the Jazzy version of theme tune which debuted a few months later?
i looked through old newspapers for answers. neighbours started airing 4. of june 1990. they have up until 2022 been a regular part of midday television of the airing station (stöð 2) with little or no stop, if anything they must have gone into overdrive at some point because the first episodes they aired were old. the shows stopped last year after showing the final episode. after it came to light that the shows would still be made, stöð2 said that they would resume in late 2023 with new episodes.
Thanks for this interesting info. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that they showed double eps for a time but may be wrong on this. Its good to hear that the show has been so succesful in Iceland. Sadly in places such as France, Germany and Scandanavia it didn't do as well. Am also pleased the show is returning to icelandic tv.

In Scandianavia, they let the English dialogue flow with Nordic subs

i believe they quit dubbing after these ran and subsequent title music were original audio.
Thanks ever so much for this interesting information.
