- I do not own the rights to this music.
This is intended to collect all of their non-album tracks from 1970 to 1973 and make a fan sequenced album out of them.
After the classic Parachute album, The Pretty Things recorded a slew of singles and a mini LP called Hot Licks under the band name Electric Banana. They were led by frontman Phil May (who passed in 2020) and a young new recruit, guitar wunderkind Pete Tolson (who passed in 2016.) Tolson would later turn down playing in both Scorpions and Led Zeppelin. Fans of The Pretty Things include Bob Dylan, John Lennon, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Easybeats, Jim Morrison, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Blur, Oasis, Nirvana and The White Stripes.
This is a fan-sequenced 1973 album of formerly non-album tracks. For more rare tracks by The Pretty Things check out our videos Electric Banana 1967-1978, Turn My Head (songs only done live), Sunshine (1972), Phil May & the Fallen Angels (1978), Wally Waller's Do It/I Don't Feel Well (1978/1981) and Lost Late Leftovers.

October 26 contains one of the greatest solos ever.
Spot on!!! I really can't understand why it's not praised to the skies. And it doesn't pale with 50+ years of age. The fact that it comes in a song with such sympathetic playing from all the band, topped by a great Wally vocal, makes the whole song truly top-bracket, even by Pretty Things' high standards.
The "Late" Peter Tolson's "Wah....Wah"....=SPECTACULAR!!🕶🔥
Prettiest Rock band ever.
The pretty things are not not comparable with the Rolling stones , because the pretty things are musically much advanced then the stones.
Just listen to the lead guitar
Seen The Pretty Things warm up Styx and Ted Nugent at Michigan State University in the mid 70's. They blew Ted off the Stage!
Dam, They must have been pretty good that night, Ted was pretty much on top of his game by the mid to late 70s. I here in Mich.
Unique 🎼 FIRE
This band should have been as popular as
other bands that became popular at the time..
they for sure had what it takes and then some,
very creative, very good young musicians and
super talented fine composers and performers..
its no wonder steven tyler has mentioned them
as a band he would have liked to have been in
38:14 Beautiful lead using the classic 1960s Vox wah. I fear certain types of music have gone the way of an uncertain future ....... Guess i'll be here in the past waiting for you all to catch up..✌🤞
SF Sorrow and Parachute are both great records, somewhat overlooked, especially when there's so many Beatles and Queen fans out there, the Pretty Things kinda bridged that evolution in creative, elaborate, catchy pop rock of that era. Here they are sounding a lot like early 70's Kinks.
Monster Club got me here..... That's the ONLY film that Vincent Price made playing a Vampire.
He never became one in Last Man on Earth? Hmmm, you might be right.
bravo
A great english Band. I like The Pretty Things.
I enjoy their work. specially the Swan Song period. The Pretty Things were always unpredictable and brilliant. I regret wasting half my life not knowing them. Well, better late...
Love seeing Swan Song era get some love. On that note, I recommend my Jack Green/Gordon Edwards videos to see where they came from (Sunshine) and ended up (Humanesque), as well as my Fallen Angels video which is where Phil May ended up right after he literally walked out of the Swan Song contract.
This band was always creative. S.F. Sorrow being an early psychedelic rock concept album. This one is good too, with strong vocals, definitive rock guitar and rock solid rhythm section. And great songwriting, imo this band was sorrowfully and mistakenly overlooked in the states.
Agreed, I particularly like the opening story here that leads to a murder with the gut punching aside "but then who killed this child?" May and Waller wrote great poetic lyrics with real meaning, very few of their songs were standard boy/girl stuff.
Pretty cool Soft Jazzy Wow 💓
This is such an underated band! Incredible music! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. As one could tell from my channel I am a Pretties fanatic, ever since discovering them at 25. I am super pleased that this particular fan-made album is the most popular because it was my personal favorite before I placed it here.
v ery good...................................................
I've seen these boys 68 at BusStation in Bonn. Incredible concert. Pure Rock ' n Roll :-)
Last saw 'em 15 August 1964 - Wilton Hall, Bletchley :-) UK

@@paradoxstudios6639 Shit man, I don't drink and I dont smoke never in in my life for now seventy and one years. Paradox read Nietzsche and listen to Rock Music, that's life :-)

This is great stuff. Love the Pretty Things.
Circus Mind*I Could not believe my eyes and Good Time.I could scream. Music. Ecstasy..
que maravilla
This is like discovering The Who built the pyramids
oh come now
Lol. Then S.F. Sorrow must be like discovering the Who built a later, bigger and less sturdy pyramid.
Due to your hard work on putting this on RUclips I've rediscovered The pretty things the group followed in the seventies so a big Thank you.
Glad to hear it. This rock band may have the most convoluted hidden discography. On paper only 13 albums, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. For other hidden works I recommend my videos Phil May & the Fallen Angels, Turn My Head, Lost Late Leftovers, Electric Banana, Wally's Do It/I Don't Feel Well, Sunshine and the Homeless Singles.
Electrical Banana , bound to be the very next phase ...
Nice view
I remember this band when a teenager in the 60's What was the year of the Hastings pier ballroom gig ? my area !
It's remind me to Trapeze's Glen Hughes
great stuff! very enjoyable!
Крутая группа
Muy buenos, no los habia escuchado, felicidades al que compartio
Busca Warhorse , buen grupo también
Ничего у вас не вышло, и не вышло бы!
Ничего интересного!!!
Ничего!
Awesome post! Totally worthy🤘🤘
Is this a compilation album ? I can't seem to find any information about it
Basically yes, it is a compilation album. It is all of a mini-album/ep they did called Hot Licks combined with non-album singles around the same time.
Nice pop blues - this should have gotten more airplay in US
Singapore Silk Torpedo got limited play on U.S. Radio in 1975 - that's where I first heard them. Then I heard Bowie Pinups - a few covers there. Amazing band.
На подогреве у Пинков выстуавли.
Great tracks TNX
1:42 - yeah!
enormes...
This band sounds like the Rolling Stones
Some would point out that The Stones sounded Like The Pretty Things!
@@milesmorris5729 Lol, slightly harsh. The Stones were great and came out earlier, but it is true that in 1964 Mick and the gang had to "butch up" their rebel bad boy image thanks to the nastier punkier Pretty Things.
@@finslaw
Dick Taylor on lead guitar here was an original member of The Rolling Stones. They wanted him to play bass, he said no thanks & quit. The Stones got Billy Wyman & Dick joined the Pretty Things.
@@peach495 Just a side note: Dick Taylor is not playing the leadguitar on these tracks, it is all played by Pete Tolson!
very annoying music, I can see why they never made it big.
Thanks for the incisive criticism, Joe. You cleared it all up.
They were much more popular in the UK, especially mid to late 60's as a blues band
