Why is gold not undergoing reduction process such as roasting or smelting?

Cause they are found in pure form. So it doesnt need to go through the processes

Yes.It is a less reactive metal and is found in the bottom of activity series.Extraction of Gold can be done Hydrometallurgy or Pyro metallurgy.
