    Hi Ted,
You might like to hear this.
I was taught this way as a child (1950s), by my Dad, Lee Terry (Leo Palminteri), one of the biggest arrangers / orchestrators of the 1920s and '30s.
....and among other things, a stint as Paul Whiteman's music director.
So yes, you can get these points across clearly and concisely without endless hours of 'what's allowed, what's not allowed, if you play a false relation to the tritone you'll summon the devil', etc.
Excellent presentation my Dad would be proud.
    Bill P.

I agree with you. He literally broke down the entire basics of piano in 5 minutrs that most people learn in years. I didn't learn this until 20 years after I started playing piano. No one wanted to teach me these things so I had to learn on my own. Even after years of taking piano class in college, they're focus is to teach you sheet music therefore, I didn't learn much of theory.

Perfectly done! I learned how the sus chord is built today :).
A possible sequel would be to show the simple fingerings for these chords and how the same hand position can be repurposed for many other chords. I call the 1-3-5-8 finger a "claw", and explain to beginners that you can learn 7 chords on the white keys (ignoring the Bdim(?)) just by moving your starting position to make (C,d,e,F,G,a). Another claw position backing up to a black key with the index finger gives D,E,A and c,f,g. A third one covers B major (rarely used), and B minor is a one-fer as well.
I think it's cool you can play 14 important chords with two hand positions from the root note, and the left hand can be trained just as well. I've got these 4 claws stone cold with both hands, but I haven't graduated to learning the equivalent shortcuts in 2nd and 3rd inversions.
Hopefully that discussion makes sense, and is mostly accurate. I'm just a novice that enjoys playing in the same rut with no hope of improvement and a low ceiling but love the hours I spend failing to advance, lol..
eta: two more hand positions (claws) give 8 more major and minor chords starting from the black keys (I think, don't have keyboard in front of me).
tldr: It's cool that 4 hand positions gives you 22 or so basic major and minor chords.

You usually sharpen the 11, because the 4 is an avoid note in the scale (i.e., when soloing over Ionian, you don't play the 4th note in the scale, doesn't sound good). Sharpening the 11 gets rid of that avoid note in the harmony
