I have a friend who started watching Star Wars year ago (in late 2015), starting with prequel trilogy. I don´t know how we got to it, but we found out during that discussion that she doesn´t know who Darth Vader is. Like, she knew he is in later movies and how he looks, but she didn´t know Anakin will become Vader in third episode. I was left speechless. So, I have no problem believing this, because people like this live between us.
Filip Batora if she happens to be 30+ years of age it is very possible. they operate on social tropes more strictly than people of our current generation(as much as hate bieng a part of this generation. An example would be the popular jock would not be into something nerdy like Star Wars. Not out of disdain but out of lack of interest.
Man, it's hard to find people who didn't already know this. Now imagine seeing this for the first time when it first came out, back in 1980. Nobody had a clue this was coming. I was lucky enough to be part of this group. I was in a packed theater when this happened. You could hear the gasps. It was great.
Even if you can some how go your whole life without hearing this reference, it still wouldnt have the same effect as it originally did due to the fact the bad guy is actually your father plot has been used so many times since star wars.
I honestly can't imagine how a grown-up person could be surprised by this. Even for someone who never watched any Star Wars movie, the (misquoted) line : "Luke, I am your father" is a legendary part of pop culture.
Melvin Carter Right? I think that was my first-ever spoiler as a little kid, everyone in school was quoting that line before I even saw the movie. lol When I finally saw it, I guess I was still too young for it to really sink in. I was all like, " 'Kay. Neat. :D "
@@theanafront3746 My experience too. Lol. It's never been an "Ooohh" thing for me. Sucks a bit, maybe. It would be really nice if people could just respect the fact that not everybody has seen every movie, so just avoid spoilers when at all in doubt.
ATN -- how many times have you actually watched Star Wars? Now compare that to how often you've heard others parody the line, and how many times you've looked back on it. You remember the pop-culture version...not the actual version of the line.
+The BadMan Only on the internet can you get away with not having manners or acting like a decent person by accusing someone of being a "white knight". Fucking kids these days.
+gameralfa095 The Phantom Menace was the first SW movie I saw growing up and even I knew Darth Vader was Luke's father before I saw the Phantom Menace. The problem was, I didn't know who Luke or Darth Vader was. People loved spoiling that movie. This was back when I was 10 years old btw.
You guys underestimate the arrogance of people who have never seen Star Wars. I know one girl who thought that red lightsabers meant that they had fire power and that blue lightsabers meant that they had water power. She's been missing for a few months.
I have a friend who has never seen Star Wars and the only thing she knows about it is that "it's in space or something". So I basically have the power to show her Star Wars in any order of my choosing, what a responsibility.
Heroica Knight, obviously, but there are other orders which might be better than just OT the PT. For example an interesting order in found was to watch 4, 5, 2, 3, 6 (you can throw in ep 1 between 5 & 2 if you want).
Well, I had to do the same year ago! And I did it chronologically! I just new, that she would be very sad, if the last movie ends in the rise of Vader!
I remember seeing The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 in the theater. Back then there was no Internet and of course no 'spoilers'. When Vader said, "No, I am your father!" pretty much everyone in the theater gasped out loud. My jaw dropped and I could hear some people actually say "What the f---?!?" Ha ha - it was awesome...
I didn't think it was possible to not know this in this day and age. This is one of the most spoiled moments in film history, it's impressive that it wasn't spoiled for her.
My sister is pregnant. My niece is on the way in a couple of months and I swear I'm going to make the whole family keep their mouth shut about this until she is old enough to watch it for herself. That is going to be me reliving my own childhood through her.
+TylerPierson I had the opportunity to watch my daughters as they got to watch it for the first time. It was the next best thing...maybe even better to seeing it for the first time, myself.
Well none of my co-workers have no idea...We saw rogue one for Christmas party and my boss ask me who's the black guy at the end? I'm like uh Darth Vader?
seriously that guy's a fucking idiot. way to ruin the surprise... but she still didn't catch on that something big was going down. she might just be more stupid than all of them combined
And I Ha ha, true words have never been more truer rer." No Aye Banda"..".Silencio"(creepin me out),just one of the many careening twists in that damn movie. Great recomendation.
Mega MovieZ I also whole Hartley agree with your statement as well. Also further reason I now realize that anyone new to Star Wars, neva ever eva eva watch them in order. Come to (over)think, they should never have been titled by episodes. Cause everything is so ruined if you watch 1-VI instead of IV-VI then I-III. Spoils mostly Empire's best storytelling reveals. Ruining the dense substance and backbone Star Wars gained from it. I respect Lucas for all, but damn he shoulda thought of that, making prequels like he did.
Me too...you know if they would make that apparatus from "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" I would go there and ask them to delete everything Star Wars just so I can watch it again for the first time...also I would try to keep myself from watching the prequels
have these people been living under a rock or something; "I am your father" is probably the most quoted line in movie history how was it not spoiled by now.
+Ali I've heard that line many times before, I even knew it was from Star Wars and I knew the bad dude said it,. But I never watched the three movies until the new prequels come out. If you never paid attention to the franchise you know the line but you don't know who he says it too, I was shocked.
When I was a little kid, YEARS before watching Star Wars for the 1st time, I already heard so many people saying it. And I always thought Luke had died there.
kevin_supersonic well.... same screenwriter, but still, I really saw that coming. the whole scene just builds up for it to happen. this scene in empire does not build up for an "I am your father" reveal.
Han solo's death wasn't a surprise at all though. The moment he started to approach Kylo Ren, it was obvious he was going to kill him. Absolutely no surprises in that movie, it was all predictable af
This is the kind of rare footage you will find where it’s genuine. I’m very happy the surprise never was ruined for her, as I think it’s something everyone should behold.
That moment when you realize being in the 0.0000001% of the people who is proud of not seeing Star Wars is a proof of you not knowing what you're losing.
Absolutely nothing. I frikkin love Star Wars, but there's some Facebook image where it says something like "I'm in the 0,0001% proud of never seeing Star Wars". I'm saying that's stupidity! They don't know what they're losing.
Alvaro Stöckle Star wars is just ok. Always thought Alien and Blade Runner were better, those have had a big impact over me. Star wars, I thought it was fun but stupid and badly acted.
And I I agree, but it's not the point. It's the same with Dragon Ball or superhero comics, you can enjoy them as the best even if you clearly know they're not the best. It's something hard to explain...
***** Fair enough mate. I just think it's not that big of a "loss" if you have something else that awed you in that way while growing up (I had Dr Who personally). But yeah, the proud thing is kind of stupid.
Hardest part about showing your friend that knows nothing about Star Wars Star Wars. You can start with the OT and watch their surprise reaction to hearing “I am your father” or you can show them the prequel trilogy and watch their surprise reaction to finding out Anakin turns into Vader. But watching one trilogy spoils the other.
I would claim disbelief at this, but a few years back I said to a co-worker that something was my Kryptonite, and she didn't know what Kryptonite was, so....
Eric joker She most likely knew that small detail since it's impossible not to. 3 guys sitting there all exited and one pulling up the flash just made her exaggerate as to not make them dissapointed. Very forced.
It would be great meeting someone who didn't know this line or reference or where it came from so they could be surprised while watching it. One of my life goals.
My issue with this video isn't with the girl's reaction, it's with the FOUR guys pointing cell phone cameras at her face. And one even turned his damn light on! Talk about telegraphing and ruining the moment.
ikr, seeing fin take off his helmet made me uncomfortable for some reason. i think this is the reason. glad that's cleared up, i thought i might have picked up a case of the racisms.
I remember trying to convince my friends that they actually were real people. I also told them about R2 being a tiny man (the actor anyhow) after watching the behind the scenes. No one believed me, of course.
when i was in college we watched all three films assuming everyone in the room/hanging out that night had seen them before. two of our friends lost their shit during this part. they acted as if they'd seen the movies all the way until that part. i wish we had cell phone cameras back then because it was just as priceless as this.
Pretty sad that such a significant and important plot twist has lost all its punch and effect because it became so iconic that it's pretty much spoiled for everyone, to the point where people shame those that don't know about it like they've been "living under a rock". I can't imagine how it must feel to see this scene completely unaware of the twist, and it must be very thrilling. With that said though, I feel like this reaction could be fake, it seems sorta unconvincing.
Seeing this video totally brought me back to the reaction of the theater crowd in Boston when I saw this with wife opening night in 1980. Obviously pre-internet, pre-spoiler coming attractions, pre-everything and no wide release to suburban theaters. The theater was huge, the line was long for the 8 PM show and it was packed with people form everywhere. When this scene took place, it was an interesting crowd moment. There wasn't a SOUND. Everyone sat in their seat stunned as Luke. Afterwards, in the parking lot, men and women were shaking their heads in disbelief, trying to process it in quiet conversation. I remember one kid jumping up and down, getting into his car all excited saying "I can't believe it!". I wonder how much of this also had to do with fact that from 1977, there had been three years of being able to 'marinate' in the story. Three years is long time and so after that build-up, a sudden swerve like this had more impact.
7Earthsky I know a woman who lived in a town of 60,000 people, bordered on two sides by towns of more than 40,000 people. She had internet and a day job, and she still didn't learn about 911 until two weeks after it happened.
My girlfriend knew about Darth Vader being luke's father, because of all the parody and reference, but she didn't knew that Anakin and Vader was the same person in the prequel, so I made her watch all the star wars movie starting with episode 3 and when sidious said: ''Darth Vader'' she had an amazing reaction (WHAT!? ANAKIN IS DARTH VADER!?) so *in a way* she was able to experience the ''I am your father'' twist
She's actually quite lucky. I'd never seen any of the Star Wars (I have now) films but I always knew Darth Vader was Luke's father just from pop culture. Just one of those cultural significance things that spread throughout most media. To experience this through the actual film? She's so fucking lucky.
Go back and watch "Revenge of the Sith" . It clearly shows that Anikin is already on the path if no return because of the Emporer(?) . And Padme is pregnant, but doesn't know she's carrying twins( Luke& Leia). So, when Vader tells Luke, I Am Your Father, he's telling the truth. But he doesn't know about Leia(?) because they were seperated at birth to keep Vader from knowing about them.
Reactions like this are the reason I'm pissed at people who think "oh, it's not a spoiler, it's been around for *years now!* What, were you living under a rock??"
wow, what shitty friends. "Hey, let's all watch this amazing movie...oh don't mind the three cameras being pointed at you and the flash in your face. totally nothing happens at this moment"
+Brian Sutton Completely agree. That's exactly what I want my friends to do... introduce me to something epic, and then stick a hundred fucking phones and cameras and spotlights in my face to capture my reaction. What they're gonna have is video evidence of me beating them down for ruining such an epic moment.
No fair. This is something spoiled at birth for most people.

ChampionGold Maybe they're not American and stay off the internet. I've only seen it in memes and youtube comments.
ChampionGold .
ChampionGold That bitch better back off the greatest villian in the history of movie making.
How the fuck did she avoid all those pop cultural references without seeing the movie all her life?
hopscotchoblivion I know right? It's statistically impossible. I'm calling fake.
Lars Russell social experiment fake
Not out of disdain but out of lack of interest.
wrong guy my bad ignore that last comment
Man, it's hard to find people who didn't already know this. Now imagine seeing this for the first time when it first came out, back in 1980. Nobody had a clue this was coming. I was lucky enough to be part of this group. I was in a packed theater when this happened. You could hear the gasps. It was great.
Can I have the massive rock she's been living under her entire life?
"And the Empire will be destroyed by EWOKS!"
"Look, if you're not gonna take this seriously...I'm out."
+MrTree1779 hi out
Even if you can some how go your whole life without hearing this reference, it still wouldnt have the same effect as it originally did due to the fact the bad guy is actually your father plot has been used so many times since star wars.
has she been living under a rock her whole life? i find kind of difficult to believe pop culture references didn't spoil that to her.
i got it ruin to me when i was a kid and i watched the simpsons and homer says " i cant belive darth vader is luke skywalker's father!
seriously lol. Not ever seeing Star Wars is one thing, but even people I know who have never seen Star Wars at least know this.
I work with non write people and they never seen the movies and also have no idea of the characters...It sucks alot
Ya sounds racist but star was is only huge in North America...TFA didn't do well in China coz they don't know what it is.
Iván M.R. yeah it could happen this girl at my school didn't know what gta 5 was much less she didn't know what an xbox 1 or ps4 was
Did you keep her in a sealed room for the last 20 years?
More like frozen in carbonite.
Dominico Mucci That's what I'm gonna do with my sister except she'll be like 7 or 8. I won't hold it off til she's 20.
even though I've seen this many times, I still get the chills every time he says I'm your father
I honestly can't imagine how a grown-up person could be surprised by this. Even for someone who never watched any Star Wars movie, the (misquoted) line : "Luke, I am your father" is a legendary part of pop culture.
this
It's "No, I am your father."
Chrisroc1 That's why I said 'misquoted'...
Chrisroc1 it's really I am your father
You would be amazed at how many people have not bothered to watch any of the Star Wars films.
The "I am your father" line is so legendary that when I heard it for the first time I was extremely underwhelmed
i r fantastic
Um ok 😐
Melvin Carter Right? I think that was my first-ever spoiler as a little kid, everyone in school was quoting that line before I even saw the movie. lol When I finally saw it, I guess I was still too young for it to really sink in. I was all like, " 'Kay. Neat. :D "
Same, I wish I could erase my memory and watch it without knowing. I didn't know about Leia though haha
@@theanafront3746 My experience too. Lol. It's never been an "Ooohh" thing for me. Sucks a bit, maybe. It would be really nice if people could just respect the fact that not everybody has seen every movie, so just avoid spoilers when at all in doubt.
In 20 years, people will see "Hello, Peter" the same way we see this.
You'd have to be completely shut off from civilization for 30+ years not to know this famous line/twist...
how people can be this ignorant is beyond me...
Btw its LUKE i am your father, the fucking mandela effect is changing things!! not NO but luke
Like the indian residential schools in canada and the indian boarding schools in america..
It has always been "No, I am your father," the media has just twisted the line around to "Luke I am your father," for context's sake
ATN -- how many times have you actually watched Star Wars? Now compare that to how often you've heard others parody the line, and how many times you've looked back on it. You remember the pop-culture version...not the actual version of the line.
How could she go through her childhood and teenage years without being spoiled? I knew this when i was 9
+The BadMan Only on the internet can you get away with not having manners or acting like a decent person by accusing someone of being a "white knight".
Fucking kids these days.
Ross Tripi Yo bro, you need the gym son, you neck isn't even as thick as my forearm.
Liam Dae Don't bother man, some of these guys just have trouble reacting to females.
Me i knew this when is was 5 years and i NEVER watched star wars before
I'm thankful to have experienced this moment in a dark room, without a flashlight pointed at my face.
You guys underestimate the arrogance of people who have never seen Star Wars. I know one girl who thought that red lightsabers meant that they had fire power and that blue lightsabers meant that they had water power. She's been missing for a few months.
+Jesus Christ this is a great fuking point My Lord
+Jesus Christ ignorance *
+Jesus Christ Anime is gay.
McGangBang uh... Isn't that a bit random? Nobody mentioned anime
+McGangBang why are you talking about anime 😂
"Hey, how'd you first experience the biggest plot twist of all time?"
"With a bright ass iPhone light in my face, that's how."
Chase Smith seriously! People love to ruin genuine moments with their phones
I have a friend who has never seen Star Wars and the only thing she knows about it is that "it's in space or something". So I basically have the power to show her Star Wars in any order of my choosing, what a responsibility.
Show then the originals first. The big twist of Vader is ruined of you watch them in-universe chronologically.
Heroica Knight, obviously, but there are other orders which might be better than just OT the PT. For example an interesting order in found was to watch 4, 5, 2, 3, 6 (you can throw in ep 1 between 5 & 2 if you want).
@@timgo5829 yeah...I get that, but I also don't. It seems too choppy...
Well, I had to do the same year ago! And I did it chronologically! I just new, that she would be very sad, if the last movie ends in the rise of Vader!
VAGNETTO, the risk is just that she wouldn’t wanna se any more movies after ep 1 since it sucks.
I remember seeing The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 in the theater. Back then there was no Internet and of course no 'spoilers'. When Vader said, "No, I am your father!" pretty much everyone in the theater gasped out loud. My jaw dropped and I could hear some people actually say "What the f---?!?"
Ha ha - it was awesome...
LS650 that's awesome! I would love to be in that situation, not knowing...
Right up there with "Frankly, My Dear, I don't give a damn."
I didn't think it was possible to not know this in this day and age. This is one of the most spoiled moments in film history, it's impressive that it wasn't spoiled for her.
"Why is everyone filming me!?"
My sister is pregnant. My niece is on the way in a couple of months and I swear I'm going to make the whole family keep their mouth shut about this until she is old enough to watch it for herself. That is going to be me reliving my own childhood through her.
Tiber Maxson Thanks. I have my work cut out for me. There are too many blabbermouths in my family.
Ah you'll be the best uncle ever!
Figjam She was born last week. I'm swearing the entire family to secrecy until she can watch this for herself.
I was going to save this reveal for my sister but some ho at school told her about it.
So look out for that too!
KiriUzu Damn. Didn't think about that. I guess she'll have to watch it before she goes to school? Is that too young?
one of the greatest moments in American film history.
Bobby B dude my mind was blown i was like naaaa cant be but friend was like bro it's true lol
Bobby Berousek not just American but everywhere in the world. World wide film history.
Not one of the best but the best
Love how she just grabs a bottle of alcohol and takes a swig after the reveal.
I would kill to see this movie for the first time again
+TylerPierson i would be really happy to see it without knowing the best moments from the memes of the internet. Still loved it tho
+TylerPierson
I had the opportunity to watch my daughters as they got to watch it for the first time. It was the next best thing...maybe even better to seeing it for the first time, myself.
+TylerPierson Go On Then. Don't Let Your Dreams Be Dreams.
same
+k dot You Savage!
Everybody knows Darth Vader is Lukes father, this quote IS legendary
JGL Ironically also one of the most misquoted too
JGL ya to people living in North America. outside of it there clueless
member berries no stop lying
member berries basically the entire 1st and 2nd world knows that, even a lot of the 3rd world has heard the story.
Well none of my co-workers have no idea...We saw rogue one for Christmas party and my boss ask me who's the black guy at the end? I'm like uh Darth Vader?
I’m so envious there are people who actually got to experience this the first time
Guess she didn't think a guy holding his phone in front of her face with the flash on was suspect
seriously that guy's a fucking idiot. way to ruin the surprise... but she still didn't catch on that something big was going down. she might just be more stupid than all of them combined
Um... or maybe they just told her "you won't believe how it's going to end, and we are going to film your reaction"? I don't know who's stupid here...
The guy who turned on his phone flash to film her... dude. Seriously.
Yeah I know. Vertically filming like WTF tilt that fucker. He should be slapped and removed of phone recording privileges for filming vertically.
you should be slapped for caring
IronJaw BnY Jesus Christ dude, it's a fucking phone, who records horizontally 😂
"Dark c*nt is his father" lmao
Wtf even if you've never seen Star Wars everyone knows darth Vader is Lukes father
Digital West my mom didn't, until I ruined it for her too early into the movie whoops
Digital West my thoughts exactly... which is why this was fucking stupid.
Digital West I work East Indian people and they have no idea
member berries no shit they only like Bollywood shit
Digital West your supposed to say spoiler alert!
I envy that girl so much cause now I'm never gonna get that first time experience ever again!
Watch the movie Mulholland Drive without reading anything about it. Star Wars is nothing compared to that.
Same I never even got that experience, kids kept saying it at school.
Me too...you know if they would make that apparatus from "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" I would go there and ask them to delete everything Star Wars just so I can watch it again for the first time...also I would try to keep myself from watching the prequels
Wait...I HAVE A SON!!!!!!!!!!!
(lol its just a joke xD)
Yes, HISHE Vader, you have a son.
That's wonderful! You should tell everyone!
"I have a son, Stormtroopers!"
Vader probably knew when Palpatine said "we have a new enemy - Luke Skywalker"
Is that meant as a question?
Exclamation marks are not question marks.:P
have these people been living under a rock or something; "I am your father" is probably the most quoted line in movie history how was it not spoiled by now.
+Ali I've heard that line many times before, I even knew it was from Star Wars and I knew the bad dude said it,. But I never watched the three movies until the new prequels come out. If you never paid attention to the franchise you know the line but you don't know who he says it too, I was shocked.
First time I heard it as a kid was in Toy Story 2
+Ali Better to be late to the party than never at all.
+Ali yea sadly it was spoiled for me when i watched a tv show im jealous of her she got to enjoy the build up which made it so much better.
When I was a little kid, YEARS before watching Star Wars for the 1st time, I already heard so many people saying it. And I always thought Luke had died there.
She's gonna freak when han solo dies
kevin_supersonic forreal lol
kevin_supersonic well.... same screenwriter, but still, I really saw that coming. the whole scene just builds up for it to happen. this scene in empire does not build up for an "I am your father" reveal.
kevin_supersonic And when she will know that Leia is Luke's sister.
or that Darth Vader built C3PO?
Alvaro Stöckle *losing
You'd have to be living under a rock not to hear some reference of Darth being his father.
or be a girl.
tinostarks Sure.
tinostarks nope I'm a girl and an older friend told me about the original trilogy when I was 7 or 8 long before I seen the movies.
Grover She most likely did but she had no idea what it was
Grover more like living in India or China or anyplace out side of North america
Hardest part about showing your friend that knows nothing about Star Wars Star Wars. You can start with the OT and watch their surprise reaction to hearing “I am your father” or you can show them the prequel trilogy and watch their surprise reaction to finding out Anakin turns into Vader. But watching one trilogy spoils the other.
Darth Vader went on Maury for the results. "When it comes to 19 year old Luke Skywalker...Darth Vader, you ARE the father!"
DN 13 NoooOOOOOoOoooooooo!!
BanzaiHeil so that's why he has the meltdown at the end of episode 3
DN 13 your comment is impressive, most impressive
Hilarious.
"Obi-wan, you said Vader murdered Luke's father. The lie detector test determined...that was a lie!"
I would claim disbelief at this, but a few years back I said to a co-worker that something was my Kryptonite, and she didn't know what Kryptonite was, so....
Till few years ago, my uncle had always thought that superman is not an alien. Just a man, but, "super"
Your friend is so beautiful
a) how many angles do you need? b) these are the least subtle people of all time trying to record her.
tiberiius The one guy turned on the flashlight too
Lol I thought that was hilarious
It's hard for me to believe people don't already know about this
Eric joker She most likely knew that small detail since it's impossible not to. 3 guys sitting there all exited and one pulling up the flash just made her exaggerate as to not make them dissapointed. Very forced.
coolwhiprofl possible but she could also be being truthful
+Josh Boggs Yeah. It would still be a forced reaction as not to make the three guys wanting to bang her dissapointed.
Wow. What a reaction. That's incredible. She really exploded. And you guys did a great job making it an inconspicuous moment. Really- great job.
So what's the big deal about Dark Raider being Lou's father?
that was fuckin funny sorry everyones to busy to realize this gem....lol
Hahahahaa
absolute gold comment LMAO
my cousin who was born ten minutes ago knows that
Ghostthred lol
Ghostthred same with my half brother
Ghostthred congratulations 😂👍
It would be great meeting someone who didn't know this line or reference or where it came from so they could be surprised while watching it. One of my life goals.
My issue with this video isn't with the girl's reaction, it's with the FOUR guys pointing cell phone cameras at her face. And one even turned his damn light on! Talk about telegraphing and ruining the moment.
5 year olds know who lukes father is
Really Bro My unborn baby knows this
Really Bro my sperm cells know this
Really Bro even my midichlorians knows that
Really Bro aborted fetuses know who lukes father is
Really Bro toy story 2 bruh
It's amazing that this can be such a deeply-entrenched part of popular culture, and yet people are STILL being surprised by it.
Damn it's weird seeing someone surprised by it now. I remember seeing it in theatres when I was 7 and the whole theatre gasping.
i always believed stormtroopers were robots and it baffled me how han and luke could gut a stormtrooper and wear the armor.
Me too.
ikr, seeing fin take off his helmet made me uncomfortable for some reason. i think this is the reason. glad that's cleared up, i thought i might have picked up a case of the racisms.
I can't wait until my nephew watches these movies for the first time so I can see his reaction!
Alekk Trebekk what the fuck?
+Rowan Charlton valid point.
Maybe that's why it's real. If it was super over the top I would think it's more scripted.
Three years is long time and so after that build-up, a sudden swerve like this had more impact.
ffs how many cameras do u need to film her...
Individual fap footage.
a gangbang bunch of cameras
they're all beta orbiters.
+wmp89 85
+Oriens Occidens idk, her hand's on righty's leg... either they're alpha male/female or she rides her way round the pack like a true dominant female
Its possible a person doesnt know. My sister doesnt know as well, she must have heard the phrase but never made the connection.
I’m so thankful some people get to find out this way
Not knowing Vadar is Lukes father is a bit like not knowing who The Beatles are...They should be patted on the head and patronised their whole lives.
7Earthsky I know a woman who lived in a town of 60,000 people, bordered on two sides by towns of more than 40,000 people. She had internet and a day job, and she still didn't learn about 911 until two weeks after it happened.
7Earthsky Vader
7Earthsky I never even watched Star Wars in my life and I knew Darth is Luke's father.
7Earthsky Who are the Beatles?
i find her lack of respect disturbing
Enough of this! Günal, release him!
No it's not, the fact she's shocked means she's paying attention
Bencede
Honestly a miracle she hasn't gotten spoilers in this day and age, she's the lucky one
How has pop culture not ruined that twist for her?
My girlfriend knew about Darth Vader being luke's father, because of all the parody and reference, but she didn't knew that Anakin and Vader was the same person in the prequel, so I made her watch all the star wars movie starting with episode 3 and when sidious said: ''Darth Vader'' she had an amazing reaction (WHAT!? ANAKIN IS DARTH VADER!?) so *in a way* she was able to experience the ''I am your father'' twist
Underrated comment
I like how all the guys had their phones out to film her reaction, with little smirks on their faces.
1. She might've lived abroad or in a small town or grew up without television.
2. That reference is barely used anymore.
That's actually really cool. I'm surprised that she had never even heard the line as a joke or spoof before.
Oh man, she so lucky to have that moment as an adult! Usually these days it's only kids that get to experience that twist properly.
you know it's fake when the guy shoves a camera with flash on in her face and she doesn't react
CRdNudder to be fair she looked pretty buzzed to me.
CRdNudder Yep, very correctly pointed out
They probably told her before hand they wanted to film a reaction from her for a certain scene... The reaction to the reveal seems legit.
@@TheFlyingZulu More like they've probably been doing this for the whole last movie and a half so she's just putting up with it at this point.
I think is really hard to find a girl that doesn't know that, and harder to find such a cute girl like her. I'm still on the pursuit.
Reactions like this are the reason I'm pissed at people who think "oh, it's not a spoiler, it's been around for *years now!* What, were you living under a rock??"
Totally! I wouldn't say anything if someone hadn't watched the films.
If she was a better actress I would've thought this video was real
nah that's how some stupid drunk bitch who went twenty years without seeing it would react
Mikey JDL triggered much?
bro how sad is your girlfriend.
VanillaControl Not as sad as you apparently.
Nice of them to put not one, but two lights shining directly into her face during the scene. Nice going guys, that wasnt selfish at all 👍
wow, what shitty friends.
"Hey, let's all watch this amazing movie...oh don't mind the three cameras being pointed at you and the flash in your face. totally nothing happens at this moment"
Seriously. I swear shit must have been weird
+Brian Sutton Worst thing of all; they're recording vertically.
+Brian Sutton Soon as that light went on the video was ruined.
+Brian Sutton
Completely agree. That's exactly what I want my friends to do... introduce me to something epic, and then stick a hundred fucking phones and cameras and spotlights in my face to capture my reaction. What they're gonna have is video evidence of me beating them down for ruining such an epic moment.
+Brian Sutton You dont stick a spotlight into someones eyes while theyre watching a damn movie.
