    Cars with Toyota engines that are supercharged by via Lotus or RR racing (GS, IS, RC, GSF, ISF, RCF) are the ultimate car in my opinion. You get great performance and reliability.

    Fun fact, when the Lotus Exige came out, a good chunk of Lotus fans shunned it for being too big and heavy compared to the Elise, which is why the Alfa Romeo 4C was welcomed so warmly.

    • @kiraleaf
      @kiraleaf Год назад +12

      Essentially the Exige is the gym bro version of an Elise, the Celica GT-S engine got swapped out for a supercharged upgrade, the roof was bolted on permanently and it got meatier components in order to put down the extra power. If you don't absolutely need an Exige, the Elise is still just as much fun!

    • @rushnerd

      8.2K-ish. It's still a mostly factory spec 2ZZ.
      I just can't believe my Celica has the same thing this has. Too bad the Supercharger kits for it are very rare and stupid expensive.
      I even found an Elise 2ZZ on ebay (I assume it's almost exactly the same as mine) and it cost almost as much as my Celica and it was damaged lol.

    As an 2008 S240 Exige owner, happy to see this. I was initially thinking you had the year wrong as it has the "post 08" larger Mohawk top on it, but @Ryan-003 pointed that out very accurately prior to me and after I watched the video.
    I confirmed it's a 2007 by the smaller front brakes and the white dash. LOVE the Krypton Green. Mine is Persian Blue and is almost a "glowing" blue, I love it too....plus the extra 20hp stock..... (maybe more now if honest). With "stock" S240 0-60 at 4 seconds flat it's a smile and laugh inducing ride every time as you showed!!
    Thanks for a fun review and subscribed now.

      Yep it's an '07! Roof was replaced at some point prior to my ownership. It's the final Krypton Green Exige imported to the US. Also-- Persian Blue is awesome, was one of my top picks when searching for an Exige.

  • @Ryan-003
    @Ryan-003 Год назад +3

    Great video! I love the laughter and joy as you drive it. As you expressed - it has all the right feelings and nothing to get between you and the sweet experience of driving a Lotus! A couple of minor corrections that you wouldn't know unless you a total Exige nerd (I am).
    The roof scoop -- The roof on that 07 Exige S is from a 2008 or later model. The 06 Exige (non-supercharged) and 07 Exige S (supercharged) had the same "stubby" roof scoop that started halfway back from the front edge of the roof. 2008 and later models had the full "mowhawk" roof. Many people do purchase the later model roof to use on the earlier years because 1) it looks cooler; and 2) it is cooler (it grabs a little more air).
    The roof scoops pt2 -- it does not feed the super charger as you stated. It feeds outside air to the front of the factory intercooler (07 Exige S and later). The 06 model (non-supercharged) just let the air into the engine bay. The air intake for the supercharger is on the drivers side a little past and up from the side scoop.
    The "glove box" you refer to is actually an aftermarket piece called "the sill sack" from Inokinetic. It's a common purchase along with the trunk organizer/padding thing you showed. Most people buy it so you have some storage (I did too) instead of just an empty "shelf" where things slide around.
    Nerd rant over. Thanks for enthusiastically sharing all about the Exige S! - a special machine that is relatively usable (except for cargo space) thanks to the solid drivetrain parts from Toyota. They are rare, unique, and wonderful to drive. If you are a driving enthusiast you have to try an Exige or Elise. It's got everything you need and nothing you don't. I've had mine for 1.5 years and can't imagine ever letting it go.

    • @dandoucet4368
      @dandoucet4368 7 месяцев назад

      Nerd rant appreciated haha. You are correct, it's an '07 with a newer scoop, replaced sometime before my ownership. Agreed that it is a special machine. Everyone that I've given seat time to has been awed. Awesome car.

    Wild color but if you're going to have a fun-focused car like this you might as well go all-out. When a company doesn't need to worry about trunk space or fuel economy or child seat anchors it's impressive what they can turn out. Tight though it is, I'd rather have this over a Lamboclarenarri because it's usable on normal roads. It's amazing that Lotus lasted as long as they have making expensive but impractical cars.
