The best way I found to beat this is to race in Luigi circuit, Daisy Circuit, Dk Mountain, and Bowsers Castle 3. For Luigi’s circuit, use all the boost pads and use your mushrooms to boost through the grassy part with the pipes sticking out near the finish line, speed is key on this one. On daisy circuit, use the staircase shortcut and take advantage of the fact that the ghost is pretty bad at drifting on this one. For DK mountain, if you can use your shrooms to jump the gap in the grassy area that gets you huge time saves, I beat funky kong on this one by 19 seconds because of that shortcut. Lastly for BC 3, the ghost is horrible just save your s rooms for when you bump into walls or thwomps. If a thwomp crushes you or you fall into the lava, restart.
