  • We finally got to Nuwara Eliya, the tea capital of Sri Lanka! While we normally get straight to the action, this time we wanted to try something different. That's why we went into a tea factory (Macwoods) to learn and show how tea actually gets produced.
So will this be a history lesson? No, don't worry there's only some theory at the beginning but after that the action starts. 😉
Oh and we'll also be checking out the Ramboda waterfall in this vlog!
Accommodation: we stayed at the Blackpool hotel in Nuwara Eliya, a great accommodation with a wonderful location as you can see in the video. Check them out here: www.blackpool.lk/

Great video! Nuwara Eliya is one of my favorite estates in Sir Lanka. Their tea is always solid :)

Yes, but Nuwara Eliya is a district, not an estate, and there are lots of tea estates in there. Just saying :)

Another great video Hugo and Noemie! Not only you presented a great video, you are a great human-being. You highlighted the hard work done by those women to support their families etc. Your videos will help the development of economy, improve the life style and quality of the life of those families. Great work. Please post more videos from Sri Lanka.

Hey there, great to hear from you! What a sweet comment, yes of course we want to show how everything really is. We can't do that by reading a guidebook, we need to really get in there and wow, such a lot of respect from this woman! We've got a Sri Lankan playlist of our videos that you can check here: ruclips.net/video/Em0gPMj13wU/видео.html

Thank you Hugo and Noemie for your awesome vlog! It was really interesting to learn all the information about the tea in Sri Lanka. It's interesting that the tea came from India to Sri Lanka in 1867 as that is the same year that Canada formed as the Dominion of Canada with the confederation of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario. This July 1st will be the 150th anniversary of Canada. I enjoyed seeing the tea fields and your wonderful drone images of the fields in the sunshine and also the high waterfalls. I like your music too! Great vlog! Keep up the good work! Have fun! Thank you! Thumbs up!

Thanks Mike! Yes we were intrigued by how all of this process actually worked. It was a bit of a different vlog, a bit too much theory for us when we look back upon it, but we're happy we gave it a shot and learned again from it. We'll keep them coming! 😃

it might be beautiful but these used be pristine rain forests with loads of elephants and leopards..now a almost bare land, except for the tea plants ..and loads of indian laborers brought by the british to work on the, creating additional problems .
