All of them.. I believe Clint Smith said when you get to a 1000 you can slow down buying AR mags..

Depends on the ammo. For my 308 and 300 blackout im at 5 right now but plan on at least 10 to 15 more. For my ARs im at 50+. These magazines work in multiple rifles. Same thing with Glock mags.

I have 140ish AR15 magazines. Mostly 30 rounders that are Lancers. I also have a couple dozen AR15s. I typically think 10 open magazines and 3 spares are a good number to obtain. But the more you can afford the better.
Don't forget pistol mags too. I have 70ish OEM Glock magazines and 12 or so pmag/ets/kci for my 8 Glocks.
You can buy cheap magazines to use at the range to save on your springs. I typically see weakened springs around the 3,000 round mark in my AR15 magazines.
    Also, NUMBER YOUR MAGAZINES!

Well, as for the mags, I’d stick solely with Magpul M3 and SS Duramags. Lancers have had lots of issues with rounds flying out once forcefully smacking a fully loaded magazine from the bottom securing it on an open bolt. As for how many, no less than 20 per rifle as they wear out or can lose them as well. I also keep many fully loaded with self defense rounds tucked away in weather tight cans ready to go if shtf ever happens. Also recommend buying parts kits and a few fully assembled bcgs as well cause you just never know if they’ll unconditionally go after parts needed to repair or replace AR15/AR10 parts. Also choose your rounds wisely as higher pressured 556 rounds are faster rounds than 223 rounds coming out of a 16” meaning 223 rounds tend to be shot out of a 20” barrel where as 556 ballistics on the box comes from a 16” so you’ll definitely get a different grouping. Good luck and God Bless.

As many as you can get. Magazines get lost and damaged.

good to know thanks. I just fit 30 in a fat 50 ammo can. pmags, head to toe. up and down.

@@NayokeHenjithat must be tight, I get 900 on stripper clips in a regular 50. The idea behind this is 1- 30 can and 1- 50 can per rifle stored with the rifle, this is not range ammo.

    5 AR's 100 loaded mags (80 30's 20 20's for 20" DMR) plus 50 30's still in package. If I do not use them my kids/grandkids will.

I mean, I guess you could have to many mags. 🤷🏼‍♂️ My favorite is the Gen 3 Pmags. I have Gen 2's as well. I like the Sure feeds a lot. When they were still around. I could get them 10 for $90 at my local place. Duramags work too. And they are priced about the same. For the aluminum ones. The stainless Duramags I think are really, really good. They are heavier. But will probably outlast everything but the Gen 3 Pmags.
I don't have any Lancers or Hex mags. Or any others. I've stuck with either GI or Pmags. And I'm happy.
I know a guy that bought 100 of the Brownells GI mags and they work too.

I buy at least 2 every time I go to the gun store regardless of what I go there for. I have about as many still in the Packages as I do open with ammo in them.

Loaded mags in an ammo can may take up more space then just ammo, but it's still less space then unladed mags and ammo

i have 5 and i honestly think thats enough lol. guess im in the minority! id rather have more pistol mags only because its half the capacity of an AR mag, and pistols are more versatile for day to day use and carry.

  • @lewis9888
    @lewis9888 7 месяцев назад

I believe you should have a minimum 21 full size mags for each rifle and minimum 12 mags for each pistol. More is definitely better. They wear out and get lost eventually and they will make great barter items.

I lave a large Lowe's moving box filled to the top of pmags not even taken out of the packaging yet. That's how many you need. These things are investments. They will eventually get their way and eradicate them from the market.
