This is Paul..... and Gloria in Oaxaca. I loved this video because even though we live in Oaxaca, a piece of my heart is in Cholula too. What changed in Cholula to make it hip was the University of the Americas which was moved there in 1970. I was in the first class, September of 1970. From that time on, Cholula would never be the same. In the early '70s Cholula was not a destination nor was it a magic Town. There were few tourists & many of the streets were dirt. I went in that pyramid with candles & sugar to mark my way through the tunnels. I only went in about 100 meters, but still had trouble getting out, and was relieved when I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for doing this video.
Hi Paul! I had been wondering what you were going to think of it. We hoped to do it justice for you. Oh wow you are brave. Good thing a sugar loving animal like Adam wasn’t on your tracks lol. Glad you got out safe and sound. It’s really something to picture it as you say. Dirt roads, not tourists. I like doing that. Thanks for sharing!

OMG guys, I loved this video! Cholula is the very first place I visited on my first trip to Mexico back in 2008. It's where I fell in love with Mexico. Back then I was able to take the tour of the tunnels inside the pyramid and it was AMAZING! Talk about feeling the Energy of a place, that was it. And Heidi, you must have intuitively known to walk the stairs to the top using the zig-zag steps. That's how the Olmecs, Mayans, Aztecs walked up their pyramids, that's the reason that most pyramid steps are very narrow, they were built to accommodate your feet at an angle, not straight on (and it's much easier). Also, that movement mimics the movement of a snake, honoring the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl, known as The Feathered Serpent, also known as Kukulcán by the Maya. Loving your adventures and love you guys! ☮️❤️❤️❤️😎
Wow!! No way. That’s so cool! Like a snake. Now I feel even more connected! Increíble. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Glad you enjoyed the video!
I could be wrong so anyone correct me but Kuku is for the Mayan while Quetza is for Aztec 🤔 but anyone correct me on that. Either way man, thanks for sharing all that. I had a good time reading it.
You did an amazing job highlighting the city and the archeological zone. Adam, you are so right there is a definite special feeling when you are in front of the Giant Pyramid of Cholula. The murals were amazing also. You two got a great view from the top. When I went it was hard to see the volcanos when we were there. Great recommendations.

I went to Cholula when I was 75 years old and I had no trouble climbing those steps. The day was cloudy and we could not see the volcano. Thanks for the information about history.
I love Puebla! The people there are so awesome. I'm from Colorado in a group of students and teachers went to Puebla for many years to study and take classes. We also went to an elementary school for a week to teach the children. It was a beautiful time beautiful weather and Beautiful People. The last year I went, there was an earthquake. Was pretty sad seeing the locals and they're beautiful antique buildings fallen.
That's a decent accommodation with all necessary amenities. As all other places in Mexico this place too has colorful houses. They have made good shapes in the garden. Nice market. Enjoyed the tour.
I do love a good Jazz club. It is sad the history behind some of the greatest historical buildings. Market food is always amazing. I want one of those bowls. Mmm mole 🤤. Oh I love the native ruins. Cholula is a magical and amazing town to visit, it sucks you didn’t get to see the volcanos in the background because it adds so much more beauty and magic to that city and what’s great is it feels like a town far on the outskirts of big cities but it is only 10-15 minutes away from Puebla City itself which is one of the largest cities in Mexico and has so much to offer itself.

I hope you find your son in your day to days and along your travels. I know he is always with you.
@@TheCountryCollectors Thank you, I am sorry for you loss also. Grief is a difficult thing to navigate when you are on the road. I appreciate your kind words. Your smiling faces and 'dad' jokes are a good distraction! Keep on keeping on! I do have 2 questions for you, Do you have plans to go to another country? And do you have a home base?
@@AmoreLifeDigitalNomads thank you! Oh yes for sure! I think if we hadn’t been traveling for 10 years together we would have already ticked off a bunch of countries but since we have done extensive and fast travel before - the kind where you’re in a new spot every 3 days we are enjoying the slow travel here in Mexico. And no we don’t have a home base. I mean we have our parents homes where we keep some stuff but nothing much!
EXCELENTE TRABAJO CHOLULA UN LUGAR MUY BONITO PARA QUITAR EL ESTRES SALUDOS DESDE PUEBLA

Just recently discovered your channel and I love it. Your upbeat personalities, smiles, jokes, and fun nature brightens my day. The content is outstanding. You really do bring us along for the ride. As a professional video editor I am impressed with the variety of shots, edit descisions, and pacing. Most folks have no idea of the amount of work that you are putting into just the filming of your adventures, let alone the editing. However it is not lost on me. As a shooter and editor you have my respect. You guys have totally shattered my preconceived notions regarding Mexico. Thanks to you the wife and I will start venturing beyond Cancun in favor of some of the places that you have featured. Thankfully she speaks good spanish. Keep up the work. Keep smiling, keep flirting, and never stop enjoying the ride. Kind Regards, Rick.
Hey Rick! Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words. Yesss you know it - it’s a ton of work. I never knew how long it would take to edit a 20 minute video 😂 but now I do! Really, thanks for being here and joining us on these adventures. So happy to have you.

I was there this time last year. Unfortunately access to the church was closed and many places were under covid restrictions so looking forward to visit next year. Saving your video for recommendations. Thank you
Oh that’s too bad, but we hope your next visit is wonderful!
Great overview as always. That archeological side looks really interesting. Good food of course! Even Asian food, lol!
All the best
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing! It was a beautiful place that we hope we can explore more!
