Thank you very much Mr. Nair for the practical explanation that I have been looking for all this time. Very easy to understand, greetings from Yohanes Indonesia, success
Mr Nair, I'm using Delta VFD 450C43S-00, 45KW in my project along with DBU VFD4045. How to select BR (Brake resistance) and wire size between VFD to DBU and DBU to BR. Please suggest the type of OLR as well for Brake resistance.
Hello, I have an issue with my dynamic breaking, I'm using a Delta VFD-EL for a 220V, 2 HP motor, the manual says that I need to use a BUE-20015 dynamic break module with a 100 ohm and 300 Watt resistor, my trouble starts as soon as I turn on the VFD, the resistor starts to burn, I've already burn one resistor, Do you have any idea of what can I do or what could be happening? Bests.
@@NerdyNairTech Thanks a lot for your answer 🙏, I connect the resistor to the break module, an the module to the VFD (+) & (-), the resistor to the B1 & B2 terminals of the module.
@@NerdyNairTech By the way, the module doesn't overheat, is just the resistor, and I also have connected the resistor directly to the VFD and the results are the same "overheating".
Today I have checked the voltage between the resistor terminals and it is always having 350V DC, it is never on 0V, Any thoughts what could it be?. Bests.
Mostly If for Heavy braking apllications such as Crane, Hoisting etc you can refer to the manual for Resistor specification as per the VFD manufacturer. You can also send the model no. and I will try to give link for the Manual.
Great , can you show me in video how to wiring the VFD 2,2 kw at : + fuse + safety relay + filter + braking resistor + contactor + e-stop + reset button + switch main power
hello . i have hitachi inverter 3G3MX2 11kw, and i connected braking resistor 100 ohm , but alwyas i have problem error E06.3 ,E06.2, ....i try to adjust: b090, b095, b096,b097, these parameters many time but th same problem
hello Nerdy.. I have put calculation from your formula. Inverter Rating is 132 kW I found the resistor value = 3 ohm and power rating = 19.800 watt is that correct ? pls let me know.. thx
NOTE : At 3:56 by mistake I said 775.5 X 2 it's actually->
Get square of 775.5 that is 775.5 X 775.5
= 601400.25 divided by 3300 = 182.2425

Easiest calculation that i have found. Keep up good work!
Brother what happen when braking resistor flows 2 amp current during normal run of motor with VFD

I use 1.5/100 kw brake but the output go in to PLC sometime cause of fault.
How ca I solve it ?
Very good the video, I searched a lot on the subject, however, this video solved all my doubts you very much.
Glad Could be of help to you.
Where do the 1.5 and the 10 come from?
Can I get the percentage of torque from a motor nameplate?
Very useful. Thanks a lot!
How did you get the value of 182.24 ohm
775*2/3300
@Nerdy Nair Tech Please answer this question so I am not wasting my time here, Thanks!
Get square of 775.5 that is 775.5 X 775.5 = 601400.25 divided by 3300 = 182.2425.
Hope you got it.
You are not wasting your time bro. Pls be Subscribed, more tutorials are on the way.

Okay so where did you connect the resistor to? Did you use the Brake module?

Hello. Is it the percentage of braking IGBT is same for all model?

Yes
Why to devide 10 ? What is the reason
Motor peak power divided by 10 to get brake resistor power rating.
Thanks for the good information
Nicely explained
Why tge breaking register is getting overheating
The rating may not be according to the requirements

What is the Application?
Yes it's correct. 3Ohms & 19800 Watt or 19.8 KW

@@anggaradedy Which VFD are you using? The manual or catalog will also have the exact rating according to the same.
What is this 10
Have a 2.2KwH Spindel. Got a electric heater 500W 100~ Ohm.
Should work fine as breaking resistor 🤟 (fingers crossed)
Should work but life of heater will be less it burnout.
