- After the incredible success of this years Olympic Freestyle BMX category, Neil Donoghue and Blake Samson thought it was only right they try their hand at BMX, so they chucked on some helmets, slid into some knee pads and squeezed on some skinny jeans to hit up @RampworldCardiff for a day of ramps, stairs and foam pits!

We NEED a GMBN vs. GCN bmx off! Conor on a bmx alone is worth a video!
thats not even a competition GCN would literally die 😂 sure fun to watch though
That would be a good one for a BMX track, get a real race going on an official dirt track, most serious racers are clipped in too, could be interesting.
He gets 16 inch wheels!
As much fun as would be to see the superior sport slaughter (that was a joke! :)), it would hardly be fair right?
But something a bit more middle ground could actually be a bit interesting and still fun. So something like XCM MTB race, Gravel race, and CX.
Hank's tried BMX, but I'm in full support of a repeat with other presenters.

I’ve never seen Neil smile so much 😃
its his inner kid
Friggin loved this episode!!!!. Neil and Blake were seemingly having so much fun!
Neil was smiling for the first time
😆
Wow, seeing Neil like a lost little boy in the big kids park was quite something. Kudos to you both for putting yourselves out there. That's how I feel ALL the time.
0:20 got some Berm Peak vibes right there. Was let down when "but kinda the same" was not uttered.
Pure heart warming content 💛 That's something extremely wholesome Savoy seeing these two professionals smiling nervously being slightly embarrassed but also having the time of their lives doing "easier" tricks. This knowing how extreme they ride being in their own element!
Brilliant video 👏
Hi Simon, We love to see comments like yours! Really glad you loved this video. Thank you for the support! Safe Riding! 👊
I remember Blake to be this happy when he taught Ollie (of GCN) how to MTB! Surely, that video is fun to watch! I'll watch it again (and again) after this as it is truly amazing to watch! Their happiness is 100% contagious at my end!
Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines! #KeepBiking
Yes! I've been waiting for this for years. We need more! 🤙
I'd like to see Blake, Neil, and Rich do a BMX race course. Blake's 1800+ watts of power, and Neil and Rich's racing prowess would be amazing to see on a race course 🏁
Neil is always so stiff and stoic it was absolutely fantastic to see him smiling and cutting up. He ended up looking almost relaxed when it was all said and done and this episode kept me smiling the whole way
Neil was killing it! I would have thought it was Blake with the bmx background but Neil looked right at home. Excellent video.
More BMX!!!!
Jealous of such a beautiful, indoor park. We need one in Alaska!
What a great day treat, beautiful people of GMBN!
Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines! #KeepBiking
Love this. Any vid with Neil and Blake are awesome. Especially when they are trying something new.
GMBN definitely needs to make this a regular thing!!! i loved it!! i haven't been to the skatepark in about 4 years and after watching this, i think I'll have a go at it soon
Blake in the Beginning: "We are doing doing something a little bit different today..." My Brain: "But kinda the same..." :D
Had a bad day, then Blake said: "Welcome back you beautiful people!" And everything was good.
Best trick was the scooter kid @ 11:02. Glad to see the BMX stuff, looked like a ton of fun.
but he didn’t even land it
Great video Blake and Neil 🤘
Now you wouldn't think BMX would take them out of their comfort zone
Great to see them both stoked when they achieve something.
There's definitely a challenge video there with the sister channels 👍
Hey Ross, It was a bit of a shock to the system but soon after they were having a great time! Thanks for the comment! 👍
This was a great change GMBN! Always good to mix it up.
Thanks, Sue! It was a great laugh! 👍
Getting into different disciplines is very humbling when we see the learning curve before us even if we’ve done it before. Also in our sports we brush shoulders with the pros and we can be blown away by just how skilful they are when flying only feet from our heads
Absolutely loved this! Good to see you getting out of your comfort zones and having fun!
Glad you liked it, Lee! It was great to see Neil and Blake have a go at something they haven't tried in a while! Thanks for the support! 👍
I’ve also seen someone knock out all their front teeth 🦷 , you’ve gotta luv Neil’s comments, both champions at work great video guys 👍
Hey Nick, Foam pits can still be surprisingly dangerous!😬 Glad you enjoyed the video! Many thanks for the support! 👊
Genuinely impressed with Neil and the manual out of the quarter pipe then back in
Rampworld is local to me, as a fellow mountain biker you captured the fear, peer pressure and banter of this place perfectly, top video.
As an older beginner with a mtn bike, I am always in awe of Blake and Neil’s bike handling, regardless of what bikes they are on 😊
I didn't need to take the bell off my BMX, it was broken off when I said to my mate, "see how quickly you can get to the balance point on this compared to the mountain bike" and he literally put so much power into it that it flew out from under him.
You had a great time in the skatepark and we have a better time watching your video... great deal! Legends!
Loved this episode, would like to see more. I started riding bmx at 57, going to ride indoors when weather gets bad. I think more people should try it, very inexpensive when you compare it to mtb.
Haven’t seen the vid yet but, finally I get to see these 2 on BMX bikes. I needed this. Lol.
BMX is a blast! loved seeing you guys do this! Hope to see more!
"aggressive encouragement" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Finally BMX. Many of us are coming from the small tires. Thanks for this guys...
I still ride all of my bikes 20bmx street,24bmx race,26DJ,27.5 hardtail, and 29Full Squish and we do a thing where we take them all to the bmx track and run them all the same day. it leads to some great crashes🤕😭😂
Global BMX Chanel in the works? Would be pretty cool, would take me back a few years 😂
This video has made me happier than most
They both looked so happy! Wonderful video guys :)
It was a great laugh to watch! Thanks, @EricTheTurtle! 👊
Great to see you've found our local park!
We need more of these BMX videos great as always🤙🔥
lmao at 2:55 in the background you can see blake explaining his struggles to some random guy
So sick to see some bmx content! We need more please lads!
I love all the excuses they come up with. I'd do the same thing. 😂
So good. Riding skatepark is so much fun and so good for your bike handling skills.
Both y'all put in some half cranks on those manuals. I just want to yell "PEDALING!!" at the screen hahahaha
Loved this! GMBN have more BMX skills than GCN 🤣 I picked up the BMX again after 20 years and it is such a mental game and so physical I get out of whack in 30 seconds
Shame they didn't mention Manon Carpenter who has a massive picture and her race jersey there. Plus her dad runs it who used to organise the fantastic Dragon downhill back in the day. Some of the best race tracks in the UK they were. This has encouraged me to dig my bmx out of my mates shed and revisit this place
i ride bmx alot try to get out on it once a week in between riding the mtb as i defo fell like it helps hone in some skills that can cross over to the bigger bike
Definitely. Pumps, bunny hops, manuals, and jumps are all easier to practice on a BMX and the skills transfer over
damn great video really shows how hard doing bmx is
Great vid guys!! I would like to see you guys do some bmx racing.
This episode was awesome. Neil was pretty dialed on a BMX, so good to see
This is so cool, I'm glad they brought this to MTB attention.... It is a blast, even if you just carve and rip around.
the bike-feel these 2 have is phenomenal really.
Yes BMX! That's all we had growing up in south Florida, or smoking crack. So ya, go BMX!
Lol I grew up in south Florida riding BMX in the late 90's till the mid 2000's. I was in the Fort Myers Beach area to Naples area. That's funny you mentioned drugs, my friends that never left FLORIDA got caught up with drugs. I moved to CA to ride better skate parks and dirt jumps. Quit BMX in 2012 due to a big crash and injury, also had to much responsibility at the time.
Can't see them doing a gmbn smoke crack episode
Now... round two! add pegs and a freecoaster! Bmx is a ton of fun, especially when you have a place like that to ride. Once a bmx guy always a bmx guy.
You guys need to learn a nose bonk on bmx, and experiment with trying a footjam. Great starter tricks to learn on bmx and something i was always teaching my mates back when i rode bmx!
Awesome content guys. You guys transitioned so well on to the skate park, especially after you guys got comfortable.
Excellent. Personally, my only running bike right now is a 27.5 Fairdale Taj. It's an old guy bmx.
Neil at 10:35 was a screamer lmao 🤣 he looked so rigid 🥲
I absolutely love you guys! Great entertainment during the pandemic!
Any video with Neil and Blake is going to be great.
i legit laughed so hard at Neil going in lol
time for GBBN! need that in there guys
Do this more often, it’s is fun to watch.
Great, best bit for me is the kids in the background laughing at them😂
Great content as always! I had a similar feeling after not skateboarding for about 20 years, it used to be second nature to me but I feel like a fish out of water! Would be cool see a collaboration one day with Harry Main or Sebastian Keep shredding with the GMBN crew (Pilgrim always great entertainment too)
I dont know about everybody else but..... I always manual without using the brake on my DJ....
Love the video!
Love it guys. You should definitely do more BMX vids. Get suited and go racing BMX too 🤘
Thanks for the support, Noel! Going to a BMX track would be so sick! 🤘
@@gmbn come to Braintree Bullets, I'm sure we could accommodate you guys into one of our club races, would be a great taster session with one of the best coaches around, Julian Allen.
We need more of this
That was awesome! Super fun episode
This was amazing, Neil's actually got some techerz (coming from a BMXer turned MTBer)
Blake should do a video going round and riding all the pro athletes slopestyle training compounds! Or have neil go 'pre season' training with bren, bernard, tahnee and such, have a mini series of it! 🤟
Next time you guys have to throw on some pegs and try some grinds while youre at the park! Awesome video
Loved this, definitely more BMX, get Charlotte Worthington on! You both looked like you were having the best time 😎.
16:22 Blake's got the crazy eyes 😂
Yes, come back and do more! :) Neil's got some skills, not just blake. Never tried riding skatepark, would love to, but no skills :( Maybe a skatepark session on the dj bikes?
Next…..GMBN on a BMX race track!!! Please!
A very humble man! My idol blake
yessss ive been looking for mtb bmx crossover.
I grew up riding bmx. Mostly trying to build dirt jumps because we couldn't afford to race. Also the city i lived in was terrible for street riding and the few parks around hated bikes. Digging in the woods I always wanted to build long long trails with jumps and berms. No surprise I love mtb as much as I do now. Ill still get out on the 20" or 24" now and again paying homage to my roots I guess hahahaha
I ride BMX, MTB, and dirt bikes. Find myself on the 20-incher most of the time because it's so easy to throw it in the back of the car and be riding the park in 15min.
I got back on a BMX because it's so different to the mountain bikes. It's so much smaller, the brakes I have to agree are rubbish compared to hydraulic discs but it makes you think more because the bike is heavy but super responsive. It makes you work on your skills more. Not that I have any skills but the feeling that the boys were having was exactly what it felt like to me. Now it's not so bad.
Really great video! Would be cool to see you guys compete in a real BMX race.
I normally play about on my local skate park, with the "welded" ENRAGE that won your hacks & bodges... plenty of clearance on the BB makes it a great bike for hitting parks 👍
You could do an entire channel out of this. GBMXN maybe😅 such an underrated discipline.
This makes me want to go to the skate park.
Also, you guys were looking like you been stylin for years on this mini bikes
This will be epic! Next downhill bmx
Part 2: Tom Cardy & Sam Pilgrim vs Neil & Blake... tag team trickery...
YES, PLEASE!
That was fun to watch !!
idk why but i feel like it'd be cool af if the camera guy even uses one of those ultra wide angle camcorders to get the "bmx feel" lmao.
11:02 scooter dude sends it!!!!!!!!!
I used to transition between DH and BMX when I was younger, but in fairnes the wheelbases were similar and my BMX weighed similar to my DH bike! now the worlds are very different
Blake that nose rock to fakie or ( 180 endo) was smooth
The Don is a fan favourite! Both legends
Thanks William :)
Ohh look …a couple of Dads have borrowed a couple of bikes while they wait for there kids 🤦♂️😎 Well done to both of you !!! The last BMX I rode was a Kuwahara Nova
At 10:24 neil looks like he has a basket on his handlebars
10.30 looks like Neil has got a basket on his bmx! Ha
Haha yeww 🙏🏻 that was me 👀👀👀
OMG The Don doing a flip... 🤘🤘
Do a show with Harry Main. A mixture of mtb v bmx challenges👍🤘👌it could work really well
Could we get an episode where they’re on a BMX race track on race bmx
