Fixing The N55 / B58 PCV Issues Once And For All

  • I have found the best solution to fix the N55 / B58 PCV issues. BMW gives you a plastic valve cover and a irreplaceable PCV valve, which becomes brittle overtime and tends to crack under high pressure. Once the valve cover cracks or the PCV diaphragm breaks, BMW requires you to buy a whole new valve cover.
Since I’m building my car in and out, I wanted reliability and to get rid of all week points of the car. Once I got to the valve cover I came to the sad realization that the PCV is just going to give out one day and I will have to repair by cutting off the old one and gluing on a new one, I did some searching.
I was trying to buy it N55 aluminum valve cover, and I was not able to find it anywhere the one that Vargas turbo solutions has is not for my engine. So I kept on searching and came across the Mitzone aluminum valve cover for only $175. Having had found the aluminum valve cover I didn’t want to add plastic to an aluminum valve cover, and then I luckily came across this special little part here…

Hey, what’s that 2nd hose towards the top of cover ? The one you show after the cap… is that required ? Have a N55 with the squeal.. I’m hoping this can make it a bit less noticeable. Thanks

So as per the instructions of Ross Racing, I believe they just drop down and vent to the bottom of the pan. I personally was not fond of the idea because it does leak out and smell a lot.
So I got a Motion Racewerks catch can and had the tech route it the catch can.
I had asked Ross Racing about a catch can for my car and he didn’t have one so I had to go with Motion. But Motions can is great.

@@mughalchaudry6438yes, I prefer a catch can all day. Less mess a bit less stench. You’ll just have to keep your AC on recirculate

Fasho bro! I believe that they offer a kit for the S55, if I’m not mistaken. Let me know how it goes! I personally have no idea how it’ll work with my set up. I’ll def. Keep y’all updated!

@@M4manny212I'm about to pop in the modified PCV kit on my m4 too, but first waiting for a crankcase breather cap to arrive and try that first. Cap is going on next but thinking of this Ross racing kit, have you gotten it on there ?

Yes works great. I paired it with a Motion Racewerks catch can cause Ross didn’t have a catch can for the N55 and his setup.
