I was definitely hoping you'd pick it because even though I like Alice Fenney's books, I still find your spicy takes on them entertaining, lol. And hey, third time's the charm, or curse? lol. Oh well..... hopefully you'll have better luck in the next round and I'll find so something more to my taste then. The premise of The Plot just makes me roll my eyes every time I hear it.
I think I've seen too many authors comment on that person who comes up to them with this great opportunity! They have a terrific idea for a book. Guaranteed to be a bestseller. If the author just writes it for them, they'll split the profits 50/50!
The Plot sounds exactly like that scenario to me.

Harlan Coben is very enjoyable generally. He's a fun, quick read. The I Have Some Questions was giving me mis-marketed lit fiction vibes. Glad I now have confirmation. 😉 I have the Frieda McFadden, The Housemaid, on my TBR. I liked The Maid and I was getting some of those vibes from it. Foley and Feeney are Not for me. 😏 And I don't typically like a domestic thriller or missing/abused child scenario. I'm usually a more "classic mystery" reader. Give me a PI/detective or police procedural any day. Of course, I'm also a huge series reader too. So I do like Louise Penny though I'm not interested in her collaboration with Clinton. I like the Gamache series. I like Cleeves too. All of her series are enjoyable. I love Deborah Crombie's Kincade series. Or I need a busy body mystery solver or group of them, like Rita Mae Brown, Alexander McCall or Richard Osman. None of those were on my TBR radar, and they continue to be off the screen. 😂
