When Japanese people see cold-colored food, it doesn't look tasty. Also, the food that Americans often eat, which looks like primary-colored paints, looks very tasteless (please don't be offended, I understand that each culture has its own culture). Japanese people have always liked to eat food raw, so we feel more comfortable with the colors of the ingredients themselves. It's not unnatural.
Me neither, and ive made macarons! The only differences between this and macarons is the lack of a macronage and the addition of egg yolks. But everything else was basically the same… odd but looks yummy

I’m pretty sure the filling isn’t right but I’ve seen macaroons filled with all sorts of things. I imagine they aren’t really related but people had similar ideas about a sandwich type cookie.

It’s like he made a sponge cake batter for something like savoiardi (lady fingers) expect her didn’t whip sugar into the yolks and just added them directly into to the merengue. He then piped them out like macarons. Cool process!
