I’ve ridden my dh bike set up as full 29er and mullet back to back and there’s no doubt it cornered quicker as a mullet. It did seem to roll a bit quicker and smoother when in full 29. Def not quite as fun for me. Everything you’d expect.
DH could use F1 style maximum allocated parts per year type rules. In F1 you get a certain number of engines, gearboxes and so on. UCI could implement similar rules for DH, for frames, suspension, etc. Probably not wheels:)) It would make for more reliable bikes for customers, and let's be honest, bikes perform great, it's the QC and reliability that could use some improvements.
