- Switching over to the Grizzl-E and I am liking the build quality, emphasis on strength and premium components over bell's and whistles, fluff and lights. This EVSE is the one......don't get me wrong, polished plastic, wifi and the like are nice but not the meat and potatoes of the EVSE. Just research who and how many wifi EVSE's fail to connect/ reconnect. Not to mention apps trying to keep up with new operating systems of ios and android.

Nice video. I have the black model, which they now call Classic. I had to open it up to adjust the amperage DIP switch for my EV. The inside is also impressive and robust.

Do the dip switches work well? Can you change them frequently? I limit mine to 24 amp during the day and 16 overnight on a 30 amp line but it's hard to find non tesla chargers made for 30 amp lines anymore. Only ones are non listed and sketchy so i have to use an adapter which requires an evse that can limit the draw
@@vicenzor9699 This is a well made device, but I can't imagine the DIP switches were intended for frequent use as they look identical to the those I used to adjust on early PCs I owned.
Great review. Just ordered this unit today through Amazon. Going to have a friend that’s an electrician install our 240volt plug. Crossing fingers that we have sufficient room in our electrical box 🤞🏼

I bought me the classic version. Though I won't really own an EV until about two years from now (I have an F-150 Lightning on reservation). I figured that It's better to be prepared. This will fully charge the Lightning standard range around 12 hours (15-85%), since their included 32A EVSE does it in approximately 14 hours and the 48A Ford Connected Charge station will do it in approximately 10 hours. I'd really like the 48A Ford EVSE, but it's about $800

Just ordered one. Is it ok to have the cable curved like that plugged into the outlet?

Flex conduit for outdoor use?
Check your local code. I'm sure you would need the plastic weather sealed conduit outside. Mine is in the garage. My water heater and air handler use the same metal conduit. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great week.
Such a cool charger, how’s it holding up for you to date?
I would have to say I am completely satisfied with its flawless operation. I believe it is a very well built unit. I didn't need any wifi communications because my Honda Clarity app sends status automatically. I had one instance where I had to reboot the unit. It was beeping and the light was flashing. Nice honest review of the Grizzl E. It will be my first home charger for my first EV car. Want one with non smart functions and heavy duty construction. Should I purchase direct or Amazon?

I really need to try an EV! Will definitely consider that charger at some point as I really don't care for wifi once I get an EV. Thinking about maybe a used Nissan leaf(newest model)
Sounds like a plan. Just remember there are adjustments to be made and pros and cons to all types of vehicles. With a good understanding of needs and expectations a balance can be achieved and in turn make the experience better. Have a great day.

On day 3 with our '21 Leaf SL+. Loving it so far. Just ordered this charger in the standard version from Amazon. This seemed like the best option for those that don't need a smart charger. The Leaf offers all I need in the Nissan Connect Ev Services app, regarding charging levels and times. Sounds like I made a good decision with the charger.
