Here in Canada, I teach all my students to wait at least 30 minutes if an animal runs off after being shot to give the animal a false sense of security, (no one chasing it), and therefore an opportunity to lay down and bleed out. Just curious is all and no disrespect is intended by my question. Thank you.
Its because he's a clueless fuck. The smart way to hunt is to watch the direction the animal has run, wait 20 mins for the animal to hopefully calm down, then quietly follow the blood trail.

The boar wasn't "sleeping". He was agonizing. These arrows are much too light and the broad heads do not penetrate sufficiently. I use much heavier arrows with single piece, two blades ultra sharp broad heads with a longbow or a flat bow. Huge difference. Even on the run, the first shot should have done better. Proper equipment is important.
Hope you gave those Buffalos the respect they deserve and was hunting then without the aid of a back up rifle,that then would be real hunting with a spear.

well.. angles.. when you have that much penetration you can hit the heart from a lot of entrance points with the right angle
