  • I filmed this on February 28, 2015, @ what was billed "The British Invasion Tour 2015" @ The Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, NY. This is an UnsteadyCam Production. The song was PETER & GORDON's first 45 rpm single release. It was btw the very first single I purchased (at the age of 12!), and I still have the vinyl (autographed by both Peter & Gordon!). The song was written by Paul McCartney and attributed to Lennon-McCartney.

And suddenly, the years fall away... the wear and tear of life, and once again you're that very young you, and it's all new... It's all magic, and indeed will never quite be so ever again...

Peter Asher's producing skills helped to make megastars of Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor in the 1970s.

"You might realize I don't look the same now as I did then."
No, Peter, and neither do we. Those wrinkles and spots represent wisdom, hard lessons learned, and the natural course of our lifetimes.

The best live version of this song with Peter and Gordon was on a PBS fundraising oldies show. Around 2008-2010 or so.

Lennon and McCartney gave Peter and Gordon, a total of 4 songs, over the course of time. I believe 3 in 1964 and one in 1965-1966. "A World Without Love", "Nobody I Know", And
"I Don't Want To See You Again", in 1964, and "Woman", written by Paul McCartney, circa 1965-1966. Interesting fact...Paul put the song writing credit, for "Woman", under a different name, as a test, so to speak, to make sure people weren't buying the record, simply because of a Lennon and McCartney association. I had 2 different copies of the single, on the Capitol Records label in America, each with a Different song writing credit.
The 1st single, was credited "Bernard Webb" and the 2nd single,
    was credited "A. Smith"...

The electric guitarist is spot on with the guitar instrumental section. It took me weeks to listen over and over and practice until I could play it at full speed. But I managed to tab it. Found a guy on RUclips who made a valiant try but he admitted it was an attempt. Didn’t pay attention to the guitar part until then. Interesting to note, the fifrt chord he plays is an Am7. I learned to play it as an Am6. Sounds better when playing by yourself. With a band, the difference gets drowned out.

How could it flaming well be the same without Gordon? No disrespect to Gordon, but would you like to dig him up? Should Peter give up singing because Gordon passed away? Why can't you just enjoy what we have instead of what we don't have?
