I had to write out notes on all the characters in the Games of Thrones books because it was too confusing for me to keep track of so many in the beginning. You’re not the only one who makes lists like that! 😂
i love how everyone is inspired by megan rhiannon’s dot index. i finally got my dots in the mail yesterday & it is already helping me. i have a hard time with my memory as well & it has helped me to index things in this manner. i love how minimalistic your spreads are but still very appealing to the eye. i have been commonplace journaling & working in my bujo in the same way. i have been using book darts from the stellar factory & they are perfectly thin.
I'm struggling with the dot index. Maybe because I don't have defined topics I need to keep track of. It just seems so arbitrary for me to put a colored dot every time I quote something, or every time I document a dream. I'm more likely to just use a heading and maybe highlight it.
@Lisa Leone yeah of course! i totally understand. i was doing that before but i found that when i was browsing, reading the headers was overwhelming & made it harder for me to get to the info i needed. if i am searching for a color it’s easier. what i did was categorize my many topics: thoughts, commonplacing, work, and interests. then i plan to use numbers to mark the subcategories. i could also incorporate headers instead of the numbers.
I would suggest you to use book dart to clip photos, such that your notebook would be more neat. The paper of stalogy is really thin, the regular paper clips make it rippled badly.
Watching this made me immediately purchase a stalogy because I’ve been looking for a notebook to use for work and this looks perfect! What stamp ink do you use for your dates, it doesn’t look like it goes through the pages which I always have issues with.
I hope you like your new journal! I always use the Versa Magic stamp ink on stalogy paper because it never bleeds through, this colour is called Jumbo Java :)
Please don't take this as a criticism of your journal. I have a hard time keeping a journal where more than half of the page is blank consistently, or there are blank pages because I was sick or something happened and my focus was elsewhere. I cringe when I see blank spots. That's why daily planners never work for me. My journal is strictly a day-to-day bujo of my thoughts right now with no monthly spreads or future entries of any kind. If a topic is important, I'll highlight the entry. That's it. Otherwise, each time I open it I pick up where I left off.
Didn't take it that way at all, but appreciate you sharing your thoughts in such a respectful manner! I love white space but that's just the way I like things, its always good to do what you prefer :)
Congrats on you 5 years journalling- I’m starting my first next week.

im so glad, when there’s more than 5 characters I gotta right it down or I will forget people which is not ideal in a murder mystery 😂

@Sonicas Tavares yes i agree. she has definitely added another level that will go down in planner/journal history.

I love Megan's dot index, her videos are some of my favourites to watch too

@Kaitlin Grey yes absolute fave.

That’s a really great idea! I noticed that you have to be careful with the paper clips, so I’ll have to try book darts next time, thank you 💕
Washi tape also works well. ❤
The “Future plus” log is a great idea, sometimes you have to be prepared super far in advance!
I always think it's overkill, but set it up anyway, and always end up having at least one item to add into it!
Omg I love that ring !!!
🙇🏼♀️💕
I started my first bujo, today ! Thanks for uploading
that’s so exciting! I hope you have fun in your new journal :D
"lots of cats stories in my journal this year" the cat distribution system is testing you, K! :O
lol it really is tho
