Kim, Louis, I have been really enjoying the lovely dynamic between you on your top 50 countdown. Louis’s calm demeanour perfectly balances Kim’s goofy energy. I would love to see more videos with you two together, minus the skits (which are maybe too goofy). With your obvious love for board games, and natural camera presence, just you two talking to the camera about board games will be enough to engage viewers and entice them to come back for more.
Love Quacks of Quedlinburg! It's replaced Carcassonne as the goto game with my parents. Unfortunately, I feel like the better pieces are 100% necessary which increases the cost a bit. But obviously I instantly bought them, they add heft to the pieces and make it a lot more satisfying digging in your bag.
Wow ... GREAT! Can't wait for the final top ten! (yes, you are teaching us patience). This one gave me 6 games to look into ... and a side note ... crokinole reminds me of carrom (another flicking game) ... and carrom is like crokinole where you need to get the BIG board version (like the size of a cardtable) and you flick the circle pieces into pockets in the corners. (I think I will investigate Frosthaven which lit up your eyes Kim)
Many people draw comparisons between Crokinole and Carrom. You can even find some old game boards with one on each side. I am more of a corkinole fan but different strokes for different folks. Take a look at Kim's review as well as others. Mayday does annual kickstarters which get you a serviceable board for < $150, I would not go cheaper. You can get better made ones delivered from various makers for $250 and... up. Even a plain board properly finished looks good on a wall while there are some with inlays, custom, art, special materials, etc. which are truly magnificent.
Hi Len. I would suggest you try a smaller game like Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion before investing in Frosthaven. Jaws of the Lion uses the same game system and costs about a third the price (around $50.) A really big investment like Frosthaven is excellent if you know you like the game system and will play through it all. But if you try a few games and discover that it isn't for you, you might feel like you wasted over $150 bucks.
@@sylvesterln9984 yes - thanks! I watched the Rolling Solo game play for a few turns and it definitely is not for me! I might check into Jaws of the Lion to see if it is better for me (ie, not so complex with so many things to remember to do to play your turn properly) Thanks again!
All Hail Crokinole! I have a Mayday board, my intro, hanging at home and hanging in my office a WoodenYouKnow board with a custom mechanical watch movement image. As someone once said on a review I saw somewhere "I love my crokinole board so much I would grab it first in a house fire before my family. Just kidding! I don't have a family... after that last fire."
I enjoy your skits, Kim!
Thanks!😀

My wife and I are really enjoying your lists. Thanks for putting them together. There's a fairly significant crossover to what we enjoy.
That is awesome!
I'd love to hear which games you also like (and which games you disagree with)
I have really been enjoying these lists. It is nice to see some love for some of the older or more obscure gems.

Totally agree!

Yes. I just discovered that our board IS a Hilinski Bros. board!

Xenon Profiteer is currently available! I'd never heard of it but just checked it out. Good call.
It would be great to have this reprinted!
Fantastic list thank you so much
Crokinole should be considered a Decoration that doubles as a game!
My fave theme song for sure
