I've been in London for a week, I want to work as a developer here, I'm a senior I hope to be able to say in a few months that I found the job I want so much. thanks for motivating me
Seems like work is less flexible than uni - there’s less freedom. What’s consistent is your narration in your videos :) Hope you have a good Christmas and new year !
I've experienced the opposite. I feel more freedom since I quit uni. I only do what I have an affinity for. My task schedule is not as strict as classes. Work is just a "basic stress" factor, unlike uni which took a toll on my health. And I do whatever I want in my free time; no homework, assignments, essays, etc.
@@BenefitCounterbench I'm in year 12 and in the future want to be a software engineer. Do you have to be up to date with new technology and learn new stuff after work?
Can you do educational content instead of lifestyle content. What do you do on the job as a software engineer in finance? Do you need to know any quantitative finance stuff and how is that different from software engineering in other industries? There is no content on those stuff on youtube or anywhere.
Hi Alex, loved the video. Just a quick question.. I’m currently learning coding with no degree or previous experience. My current job and degree is could not be any different to this subject. I’m still in the process of learning through various course but it’s something I am passionate about. Do companies look for degrees or relevant previous experience in interviews?
just my 2 cents on this topic, you are probably going to compete with some other candidates with a CS or related degree. But I do know some companies look at soft skills and personality that fit into the team for fresh blood. So once you get the HR phone call, that usually means you've got a chance showcase things you have learnt (usually some side tech projects) and you probably hit this kind of companies.
Sneakers and hoodie? You must be working for a startup in the finance industry. I worked for one of the big four banks in London as an sde and no way you can come to the office dressed like that :)
Hi Alex, I'm one of your subscribers and often see your videos. I have 2 questions for my son. my son this year in september will go to the UK to take the undergraduate cyber security & digital forensics program. my question is : - As a cyber security student, what laptop is suitable? is it windows or mac os? what are your recommended specs? - in your opinion, which is better to take computer science or cyber security? what are the pluses and minuses especially in terms of career? thanks Alex
